Disappointing. We came out for breakfast and I ended up not ordering anything for myself. Their menu clearly says no modifications, so trying to be fair since they're up front about it. However, I asked to confirm if I can order my sandwich without onions or cilantro and I was told "I'll put a note but we don't do modifications". Soooo, I'd pay for it and take the gamble if they were willing to do it? No thanks. I get it if they had stuff pre-mixed and they'd have to make something completely separate for me but it didn't sound like that was the case. Who knows, they didn't seem to care. Although they close at 12pm they closed their kitchen around 11 am the day we arrived since they ran out of food so would recommend going early! The service was extremely slow, and the cook, probably you, was using foul language and complaining about big orders, which was highly disturbing. My pancakes and French toast arrived without silverware or syrup. Both items were awful. Breakfast Burrito lacks meat, primarily eggs. The score does not lie! It's difficult to average 4.5-5.0* stars on Yelp, especially once you creep up into the 100's. This is no sweat for Saenz Ohana! The food is fresh and local. Not only is the food made from scratch, so are the little things, like the sauces. (the macadamia nut pesto is such a great local take on a classic flavor) This is rare anywhere, but especially rare on Kaua'i, and even more so for a cart! The breakfast burrito here is one of the best I've ever had. The hidden location is charming. The coffee is STRONG, just the way I like it! (most of the coffee on the island was a bit watery for me, except Saenz Ohana!) The sauce was fantastic. Service was incredible, so much aloha! We were thanked numerous times, and felt like we were part of the family! *When I chose this place, a few weeks ago, it was averaging 5 stars. Now it appears two whiners gave it 1-star because they did not properly understand the menu, and it's now averaging 4.5, disappointing. This food cart is a true gem. This place was a great breakfast find and left my stomach super content! It's a beautifully decorated food truck with its own picnic tables (covered too in case of rain!). I absolutely loved the Kailua pork eggs Benedict and the presentation was also outstanding. Best eggs benedict (and possibly best breakfast) on the island! We thankfully overheard a local raving about it, because it's a bit off the beaten path (though still very convenient to Princeville). It's a food truck, like most of the best Kauai food spots are, but they have a decent sized parking lot and their own picnic tables. It's worth checking their Instagram or Facebook page ahead of time, because they do sell out or sometimes close unexpectedly. If you happen to catch them when they're open though, order the eggs benedict! You get a choice of meat, but we loved the Kalua pork. Portions are massive - definitely enough to share. We got the Local sandwich was well, which was good...but it's hard to compete with the eggs Benedict (it's that good!) and really wouldn't recommend getting anything else. We have now eaten here twice over two different visits to Kauai and both times were amazing! This time we had the whole family, so we had a wide variety of items ordered. Hands down the eggs Benedict was the best I have ever eaten. The ham was thick sliced and was a very generous portion. The hollandaise sauce was creamy with an amazing buttery flavor that melted in your mouth. Oh, and don't forget about the handmade English muffin underneath it all. It was like something your grandmother would have made if she was a stellar baker. Coupled together with the edible flowers and potato's on a stick, it was one of my all time favorite breakfasts. The French toast breakfast sandwich was colossal, and included eggs, bacon, sausage, and cheese between two perfectly prepared slices of French toast. Easily a meal for two with warm maple syrup for dipping. The pancakes are also massive, but oh so tasty. If you are a flapjack connoisseur, I highly recommend giving them a try. We spent 62 dollars with tip, for eggs Benedict, a burrito and an order of potato spirals. Now that I know how big the portions are it would've not been as expensive . My husband and I could have easily shared one order of either. My eggs Benedict came with a spiral potato, also. Didn't really need to order extra. But glad we have them for later. The reason I did not add all the stars. My husband chose to get the aïoli with his burrito, but then a few bites in, realized he really did want to have the salsa/pico de gallo.
