Amazing fresh fish meals and a great spot to sit by the water and enjoy a relaxing meal. You walk up to the counter, place your order, and then find a seat while your food is freshly prepared. Everything about this place feels refreshing, from the atmosphere to the food. A simple, casual, and really enjoyable waterfront dining experience.

Haven't been to Safe Harbor since the remodel. It is nice to have a bar and additional seating where the fresh catch coolers used to be. There was quite a line when we arrived but we took a seat at the bar (FCFS). Service was very fast and attentive. My wife ordered the fried mayport shrimp as nd I ordered the whole fried snapper. Her shrimp were excellent as usual, but my snapper was overcooked. It was still good, but was dry in the thinner areas. All in all a good visit though.

    Food Stalker po boy!

Best seafood value around Mayport Village Try the "Food Stalker Po Boy" while the softshell crab is in season. Peel and eat shrimp are always a good go-to here. Sit at the bar to avoid a line!

Neat little seafood restaurant in Mayport near the St. John's ferry where you'll find the catch of the day and more prepared just as you like it. It's a busy location but well organized and if you're lucky you may just find a spot at the bar where dine-in and take-out orders are processed. We enjoyed quick, clean and kind service here and will definitely be back to try other choices. Casual seafood, but some things lacked a basic flavor profile you'd expect (crab dip- cold and tasteless). Shrimp and redfish were good, but their tarter sauce tasted like just mayo, and the coleslaw was bland as well - neither sweet (which I don't like) nor tart as I would have expected and preferred. The hush puppies were good though. Think I'll try something grilled next time. Nice spot on a lovely spring day.

What an awesome experience. Loved option to dine indoors or outdoors. Great vibe and even better food. The shrimp and scallop combo was amazing. The scallops are more popcorn style, but you get quite a few. The service was excellent. A must return for sure.

I think I've been eating here since the beginning of time! The food is always so consistently wonderful! It is fresh and the flavor is popping! I let the cashier know that I'm gluten free and he immediately put it on my receipt and they prepared my fish in a totally separate pan. Which I appreciate so much! I opted for the sweet potato fries which is new on their menu and they were so good! Here's the worst part.. they come with hush puppies. I have to tell you these hush puppies are the best tasting ones I've ever had in my entire life but they are not gluten free. I cannot resist them because they are just absolutely amazing. So I end up eating them anyway. Anything I've ever gotten there in the last 20 years has always been good and the scenery is beautiful and it's very relaxing to eat there!

We stopped here on the way to the St. John's ferry. Large location near the river with an incredible variety of seafood, both fresh and frozen. They have their own branded seasonings and other items. Very friendly staff! Quick and easy to purchase what we needed. We will be back!

What a pleasant surprise of a spot. Lots of amazing seafood and they got stonies. It was cold out so I had a "clam chowder" and a shrimp Louie salad. The chowder was the salad was a deconstructed not so great version of a Louie which in my opinion should have the dressing mixed in and be in a bowl but it was served on a tray. Sitting outside is so nice with the fishing boats bringing in their catches of the day. I gotta get back there and try the lobster roll

    Nice, relaxing evening dinner.

Definitely this restaurant is not what it used to be. Portions are smaller, shrimp taste was rubbery and fish wasn't fresh. Hush puppies were good. It is always nice to sit down and enjoy the view. Service can be improved, ordering and eating were rushed. This was my favorite restaurant to eat seafood. I traveled from far away just to eat here, sadly that's not the case now. I will not be returning.

Stumbled upon Safe Harbor the other day when Singleton's was closed and I'm so glad we did! We opted to sit at the bar over ordering at the counter. The restaurant itself was clean, bright, decorated with large airbrushed fish on the walls while animal planet played on the TV. The service was good, he gave recommendations and was attentive while we were there. We opted to split two of the specials - mango redfish and mahi reuben. The mango redfish was amazing - blackened to perfection and complimented by the sweet mango & red pepper salsa.

    Fried shrimp platter

Big, juicy, fresh fried shrimp platter for about $20. The great view adds to the best afternoon meal

Good place. The oysters were a bit overcooked. Nice size portion of oysters. The clams were okay but only a few came with the meal. The chowder was very good. Service was friendly.

I always get the shrimp basket here so fresh . The service is fast and it has a great outdoor sitting area overlooking the fishing boats.

Ask the Community - Safe Harbor Seafood

Is there a place to dock a boat for lunch?

There is a marina with slips adjacent to the Safe Harbor on Beach Blvd. I think is it mostly commercial (shrimp, fishing vessels) at Safe Harbor in Mayport.

Can I bring my dog to sit outside?

Give them a quick call for a timely answer.

Safe Harbor is pretty spacious inside, has a nice parking lot with pretty easy entry into the store. I'm very impressed with the many varieties of sauces and spices they carry. It appears they like to make the best ones available to the customers. If you want some merch, yes, there is one area that carries t-shirts and other accessories. Also, those who work the counters and check-out are very friends and supportive when you have questions. For many, it's a pretty long drove here, but they come anyway! I will say that the cost of fresh fish can be pricey, and it is here. But you're pretty much going to get some of the best in seafood offerings in Jacksonville. It's worth the trip to get here! We were seated toward the back of the establishment, offering an utterly magnificent, unobstructed view of the river. To begin, I selected a crisp Corona Extra with a fresh slice of lemon, while my assistant opted for a fine beer. For our luncheon, we ordered a platter of raw oysters, which were extraordinarily fresh, perfectly chilled, and thoroughly divine for a late-afternoon meal. To top off a splendid day, we indulged in a warm cinnamon roll for dessert a delightfully decadent sweet finish. Watching the breathtaking sunset cast its glow over the water made for a truly magical afternoon. Impeccable views, fresh cuisine, and a wonderful atmosphere I shall most certainly be returning!
