at about 6:50pm i came in to use the ATM and purchase 1 item. i was on my lunch break so my time was limited. the item i needed to purchase was for a medical issue that needed to be addressed and was in a locked cabinet. there is a button next to the cabinet that said "push for help!" ive seen these before and have used them. i pushed the button. a voice came from the button that said someone would be right with me. i waited, patiently, after about 10 minutes, i went to the front of the store and asked a cashier if they had anyone working to open the cabinet. he said yes and called someone over the store intercom. i went back to wait, i even pushed the button again. i waited about 5-7 minutes more, still no one came. then went to the ATM. once finished i asked another cashier if they had anyone to open the cabinets, she said yes, i informed her that i had been waiting about 20 minutes and someone even called over the intercom , at this point, my lunch break was over and did not have time to wait for someone else to call. i did not get the 1 item i came in for because apparently no one was available to open the cabinet. i worked the rest of my shift suffering with my medical condition and didnt get to eat lunch. they were not even busy. i could have gone to a different store, and eaten lunch if i had known that this store wasnt going to address customers needs and waste their time. i didnt even get an apology. i used to work for safeway, i know how high their standards are, if i was a secret shopper, the person with the key would have been written up. i will not be a return customer and i would give zero stars if that was an option read more

Don't buy anything that requires refrigeration from this store. There's something wrong with how they store their milk between the truck and their coolers. The 'sell by' dates on their milk usually has just a day or two left. Often we have milk that goes bad long before the 'sell by' date. The only reason for that to happen is if the store allows the milk to warm up before putting it in the cooler for sale. Now we have to buy our milk from Sprouts across town. Can't wait for Nugget Market to open across the street. I hope they don't hire the same idiots that are screwing things up at Safeway. read more

I came here this morning to do a little morning shopping very clean establishment very clean atmosphere very friendly staff they had very full shelf's nice and well stocked the aroma from the sandwiches and Starbucks had me craving a coffee with a sandwich lol this location has very wide aisles very well labeled so you don't find yourself going in circles looking for the item you need lol the employees I saw working where very friendly asking did I need help finding anything let me know if you need help finding anything I appreciate the effort right there because I can't even begin to tell you how many times I have gone to other stores and need help finding something for a item I am planning on making and they say it either on aisle 10 or 5 and it ends up being on the other side of the store it frustrating when visiting this store I did use the restrooms first thing I noticed was his clean it smelled and his clean it was very well stocked with toilet paper paper dispenser towels and soap the parking lots where also very clean no litter and free of shopping carts not cluttered very nice when it comes to a nice store with a lot to offer this store definitely has it all the meat department was very well presented very clean the bakery smelled good and was also beautifully displayed along with the service deli I highly recommend this for anytime looking for a great deal they definitely have something for everyone I will definitely be coming back here again very soon for more future visits and more great experiences to come thank you Safeway you guys rock read more

This was my go-to Safeway. It's close to home. It HAD great customer service. But this place has gone to hell in a handbasket quickly. Buy 2 get 2 free Coke products. So we got 4 Sprites, as we always do when this deal is in effect. They didn't ring up correctly. The female manager argued with us saying Sprite isn't a Coke product. Since when? After arguing, she condescendingly and rudely approved it. Even the cashier was uncomfortable. This manager has also been seen screwing around on the floor purposely ignoring customers. If it weren't for a couple of the cashiers we've come to know here, this place would be horrible. And they don't teach baggers how to bag.....or even TO bag. I have to bag every time I'm there. Which is fine, but when you have cashiers telling customers behind you that YOU'RE the cause for the hold up, that's BS. I was bagging, this guy tries to enter my PIN in the keypad for me to pay while I'm bagging. He didn't even offer to help but chastised me in front of other customers as I did his job and he tried to steal money. Yes, that last remark was a little exaggerated but that's how it felt in the moment. If I'm going to spend my money somewhere, I'd rather it be where I'm not treated like garbage. There are still some great cashiers there but the management has basically tied their hands with trying to help customers. You'd think with a Nugget moving in next door that management would try harder to keep customers, but my guess is that they've either given up or are trying to force them to close. A few observations: Isles were full of boxes to restock- it seemed weird to be restocking on a Saturday while there was a lot of traffic. I asked for $60 cash back at the Starbucks (inside Safeway). The girls handed me a $20 and 3 $10. She didn't count it into my hand and when I counted it she said 'oh yeah' and gave me the other $10 which was clearly not in the register. Questionable at best. Fruits and veggies looked fresh, so that's good. There were some bad lines i could see up front- 5-6 people with 2 open lanes- but by the time I got up there to check out 4 lanes were open and I checked out quickly. I was out this way because I was visiting a friend so I'm glad it isn't my local one. Generally I'd say a Safeway is 4 stars but this one threw me off a little. Frankly- if the employee had given me the correct cash back that would have made the difference. read more

I went by Safeway at 6:25 PM and walked to the meat department looking for a steak. The meat department hours were 8:00 am to 8:00pm. I asked the butcher if they had any large Filets. I told him I was looking for something around 16 oz. He said they didn't have anything that large. I then asked if he could cut me one. Since it was 1 1/2 hours since they closed, I thought no problem. He said "NO!" Went to Raleys down the street on Pleasant Grove, and was told no problem Enough said. Never will walk in this store again. They obviously don't care about their customers. read more

This Safeway has a wider selection of organic, non gmo and overall healthy stuff than other locations I've frequented. It seems they are trying to compete with the Raley's down the street. Works for me. This store is very busy most times of the day so I try to go during the late evening or in the early afternoon on weekdays. The lines aren't too bad at those times. They have a gas station and I use the rewards card so that's a plus. Save a ton on food and get gasoline discounts. I buy all my gas here. Was in tonight at 10pm. Only one check stand open. Was 10-15 people in line. A good 20 minute wait. Our cashier Nicole was just chatting away taking her sweet time. Some of us have better things to do than stand here while you purposely make small talk with everyone. For christs sake open another check stand. 3's a crowd my ass. Before this I would have rated this store higher but tonight was a nightmare to just get a few items. Was very tempted to ditch my cart full of stuff and go down the street to Raley's. Something that really annoys me at this location is the terrible bagging. Late at night the cashiers are super careless. I understand that you have other things to do but bagging things correctly is an important part of your job. I've also ran into this issue a lot during the day, especially when the store is busy. I am seriously tempted to bag my own groceries after having to repack things in the parking lot many times. Someone should really address this and re-train all the cashiers. When you pack fruit like bananas at the bottom of a bag you aren't even trying. read more

Had a pretty bad experience in the pharmacy section on 3/27/23 around 10:30am. Went to get free covid tests here as there was a sign out front saying free covid tests. Lady at the pharmacy asks for my insurance card and refused to give me any tests after I didn't have it on me. She said they don't take United anyway so don't bother coming back with the card. Had to buy them elsewhere, but this was illegal false advertising. read more

Promised a 65+ shopping window this AM at Woodcreek Store. Arrived at 5:45 AM. Most customers appeared to be 30's and 40's. They literally pushed and crowded past many of us elderly and took all essential stock...toilet paper, paper towels, eggs, meat before we could get there. I nearly got some eggs and tissue but "saw" last items grabbed by young and pushy customers while smiling staff watched. PR aside, Safeway isn't honoring its commitment to protect the vulnerable during this crisis against sickness and death. My 3rd attempt to wait and scramble for food and essentials. read more

a nugget market recently opened in our area. A few months ago they had a special on marinated tri trip so I gave it a try. It was fabulous! Safeway across the street, the grocery I have been shopping at for years, recently had a special on marinated tri tip so again I gave it a try. It was horrible, all fat and gristle. The same size from nugget gave me 12 to 14 pieces, Safeway maybe 5 since most of it had to be thrown out. Very disappointing. read more

My family has been shopping at this Safeway for years, and we have generally been pleased with the service we've received here. Recently, though, the customer service at this store has really taken a dive. During our past two visits to the store, there have been very long lines at checkout and we've had to bag our own groceries. Tonight, my wife had to wait in a long line because only one checkout line was open. When a second line finally opened, the checker was rude and basically ignored my wife while she bagged all our groceries. That is abysmal customer service, and we may have to consider other options for buying groceries. read more

I really liked Safeway up in Reno before Albertsons bought them. Since then the the quality and selection have gone down and price has gone up. With that said I want to address this specific store relative to the other Safeway in Roseville. This store has a terrible habit of having merchandise impeding both the ability to move around and the shopping experience. Up by the deli between cheese cold cases and the roaster area is an example of what I'm taking about....barely enough room to move about. Another issue is the inability to have an employee look up or special order product, something the Kroger Chain has always done. Example is Knorr Parmesan Noodles and for the longest time Hillshire Farms Black Forest Ham that KMart and Raley's both carry and is a manufacture that Safeway carries.... Employees can't tell me anything, can't look it up, won't take a note and get back to me.... I can fill out a suggestion. Here is the deal, it's not cause employees but because the Corp doesn't listen or respect the employees from what I gather. Wouldn't go here if not for walking distance. read more

I usually love their bakery, but this time around I was disappointed. I stopped in to buy my favorite cookies (the shortbread ones with the drops of chocolate frosting on top) when I got them home I noticed that the packaging was about half the size it normally is and when I tried to pull one out it was so jammed in that there was nearly no frosting on them (the frosting part makes the cookie) and they tasted dry and stale. Super sad , I hope they make them better next time... Or I'll have too look somewhere else. read more

I'm thinking cheese or fruit plate. I'm not seeing anything worthy of a work potluck. At this point I'm thinking if I get to work early enough, I can white out my name on the sign up sheet and nobody will know. I walk over to the deli area and that's when the grocery gods sent me an angel in the form of Rodney! He suggested a lb of the signature turkey salad paired with the Hawaiian rolls I had forgot I was carrying.. He even offered to put the turkey salad on the rolls for me and place them on a tray. My spouse was addictively searching for peanut filled pretzels which did not see to be anywhere. After conducting a thorough but futile search, we despaired. But, along came AUSTIN. He searched diligently, including trying his phone but none could be found. Shortly later, he turned up as we were self checking out, with a tub of pretzels in hand. Austin had continued to search high and low and found them hiding in another part of the store. He and the clerk Lolita at self check were simply marvelous!!! Closest store to where I live and a mixed review. I take care of my pharmacy needs and overall no problem there, Dominic esp is very personable and remembers peoples names. Maybe it is labor shortage or trying to get people to self checkout but lines really long in last year at times. And my key issue in last two months is new floral manager selections are horrible. I tend to buy carnations either mini or regular cause they last, and at least 3 times none available, only expensive Mothers Day gifts/bouquets. Went to another Safeway to get what I needed and to Trader Joe's for there floral selection and reasonable pricing. Hope things improve in that department. read more

They remodeled the store prior to Nugget opening and unfortunately for their customers they must have overspent. I went into the store today around 4:00 to pick-up a few items and the wait to check-out was atrocious. They had two checkers and both lines were very long. The line for self check-out was just as long. Many people in line were commenting about how slow the service has been. Again, you would think they would be over staffed to insure they keep their customer base right now. Received a $10 off coupon in the mail today and just threw it in the trash. If i could give a worse star rating i would, this is an extremely racist and disrespectful establishment i have ever been too. I walked in with about 5 of my friends all in our 20's, we started shopping around and immediately getting looks from the workers. we grabbed a big sub sand which first, then we started looking in the meat section. Once we realized we didn't have enough hands to hold our groceries 4 of us started walking down an isle to go get a cart(sandwich in hand). Once we got to the door my friend with the sub put it down to go grab a cart from outside to try and show that he is NOT stealing. Meanwhile, my friend and I in the back of the 4 of us heard a walky-talkie and fast foot steps approaching. I turned around to see a white man chasing after my friend(being a colored male). My friend was racially profiled by the MANAGERS AND WORKERS. I didn't get the name of the worker but i'm pretty sure he was in the meat department, he was a semi-short whit male, bigger in size, wearing a red Safeway shirt. After we told this man we weren't stealing and we had enough money to pay for everything because we aren't broke; we continued shopping fully prepared to drop the situation and just get food for our barbecue, we were in the produce and out of the corner of our eyes we say a manager and this man talking. After about a minute or two they both started approaching us, she then proceeded to look at all of us up and down and ask us how we were doing, just trying to show that we were doing something we weren't. Being a Manager you would think after the situation with the man she would realize that we have no intentions of stealing seeing as we put the food down in the store then walked out and walked back in with a cart to put the food in, but no she came up to us again to harass us even more. This lady was a short asian girl with darker hair in a black Safeway shirt. I'm very disappointed with this Safeway and with never be shopping here again and I hope nobody ever has to experience what we did today. read more

I have been to this Safeway store quite a few times now because my Husband likes to get his hair cut at the Great Clips next door. They have a good natural foods section, but it's a little small. It's a lot compared to other Safeway stores without the section but compared to Raleys and Sprouts it's lacking. It has a small freezer and refrigerated case inside but otherwise half the section is taken up by bottled water. WTF?! They also have a good selection of flour and corn tortillas, salsa, hot sauce, etc. which happened to be what I came in looking for on this particular day. I was able to find everything I needed to make vegetarian enchiladas for work. The seafood counter is super small and the meat counter us pretty much nonexistent. Not a very good selection of fresh meat and seafood here. Their bakery is also in a dark little corner of the store and seriously lacking. They do have a nice large selection of produce though. It's usually very expensive so I end up skipping this section and buying my fruits and veggies elsewhere. I come to this store if Iin the area in a pinch, but I generally don't like shopping at Safeway. I find them expensive compared to other grocery stores in the area and I typically can't find everything that I need. read more

I come here because of the convenience of it being near my home. I had to buy a cake for my daughters birthday in January from the bakery. The cake cost $60 but the girl at the bakery said that the Minnie Mouse toys will not be included because it takes 2 weeks for them to order the toys for the cake. Ok whatever I thought because it was a week and a half until the party. Fast forward to March I went back 2 weeks before to order the cake because I remembered what she said and now she's saying that I'm ordering to early and that they will lose the order! Ok what?? I'm not sure why they are full of excuses but I guess she gets 1 star for being honest that they have been losing cake orders (not that it is the customers fault for them being unorganized and losing orders smh). My favorite thing about this Safeway is that it is open 24/hrs. It is located at a bit out of the way for me but when you need something in the middle of the night it's nice to know you have a great grocery store you can hit up. With the Safeway card you can get some great deals even better than Walmart sometimes. Some complain about it being pricey but I don't think it is at all and it has better quality meats and produce than Walmart or the horrible Winco. The cashiers are always friendly as well as the stockers who are quick to escort you to a particular item you are having trouble finding which I always have when I cook with odd ingredients. read more

I have been going to this store for about 3 years now. The only reason I occasionally go to it is because it's near my home and a few items they carry. Checking out is consistently slow and the majority of the cashiers have no customer service skills, including management(they are the worst of them all). It would be nice if they added a self checkout so I don't have to deal with the slow lines and rude employees. read more

This Safeway has an ongoing problem with theft at nighttime. The main thing would be alcohol where underaged people are grabbing alcohol (mainly hard liquor) and running out of the store. I have even seen a couple young guys packing their grocery baskets with food and running out of the store at night. Just the other night, on my way out of the parking lot, I saw 2 black baskets with some groceries in them, just sitting there on the street corner. It looked like someone was running and dropped them. I don't know what they can do about such crime at night but right now they aren't doing anything about it. They should hire a nighttime security guard. read more

I appreciate so many things about this Safeway. With Raleys, Nugget, Whole Foods and BelAir all within 10 minutes, we still continue to shop here. The reasons I love Safeway: 1) The staff knows us. The manager one day gave me an Elite card. Made me smile. But it goes beyond them knowing us. They are fast, they are friendly, they are helpful. Love Rodney in the Deli - so happy all the time! :) And can't just call out one checker, because so many are extraordinary! 2) The stocks are refreshed often - telling me they are moving rapidly mvoing product. 3) The produce is fresh. They have also increased their fresh offerings which I appreciate. Not a big packaged produce consumer. 4) The bakery does produce the best donuts ever (as said a 16 and 13 year old picky eater. 5) The meat department is very helpful. I think the offers they have in the case and have only had a bad experience once with crab, which the manager fixed the next day. 6) Safeway For You. I truly appreciate the $$ I save by simply using the app. The other day I saved 80 cents per gallon on gas. Total saving of $18 for that fillup. Nice! 7) I do appreciate the red box and the starbucks, but they aren't why I shop at Safeway. So much more that I could add, but truly appreciate all the wonderful things about this Safeway. read more

Very very disappointed with the store manager Kathy. First she is not familiar with the Uapp and did not offer any help or called someone to help. Number one, if you are the store manager you shld be familiar with all your product offerings and if not get somebody to help the customer. Dont make me feel that it is my fault that I dont know. She basically told me to either pay full price or figure it out myself. Then she just walks away. It did not help that the cash register, Kayla, offered no words of comfort or apologized for the inconvenience. Some kind of customer service. I guess i know where I will be shopping no. read more

Dirty store inside and out. The first impression you get of this place is the nasty, trash strewn shopping carts stacked outside the store. There are usually dirty tissues, old shopping lists etc. in them. Do they ever clean these suckers? I have complained to managment about it, guess they don't truly want to fix anything. The patio tables in front of the store are dirty as well. Their employees take breaks and sit there and smoke, nasty. The loading dock area frequently has boxes and crates stacked by the trailer. Hello rats and vermin. No one seems to care about the outside appearance. The produce selection is beat up. Stuff looks like it has gone 9 rounds with Mike Tyson, bruised. I get my produce at the Farmer's Market in Rocklin on Saturday morning or go to Nugget, Raley's or Sprouts. I bring my own canvas tote bags. Sometimes they give me a .5 cent discount, sometimes they don't. Guess it depends on the mood of the cashier. What really steams my clams about this Safeway though is their orange "50% off" tags put on some discounted things. The problem is that they don't put it OVER the UPC scan code, so the cashier tends to not see it. There have been several times I have looked at my receipt and had to go to Customer Service and show them the item with the receipt to get a price adjustment. I think this is shady on the part of Safeway. Why don't they actually place it ON TOP of the UPC scan code? Hmmm. To top things off, the water fountain usually has mold on it too. Hope the FDA is reading this. I only get essential items, milk bread from here as they are in the neighborhood. This place needs updating,remodeling and a very deep cleaning. read more
