Terrible place! Rude, crude and unattractive. Why are they still in business? Oh, yeah Vietnamese! My car did not pass and they acted like asses. I sort of thought they were not legit because when he put in what model of car I had he put in Rolls Royce Corniche, ( I have a Dodge). So I had to report him to the State. Do not go here you will be sorry. When I left my car was in worse shape than when I brought it in, (I think they sabotaged it - because rather than back up the car they drove it around the block!) Sai is the man. He was recommended by my mechanic Danny (who is also awesome and is right next door) and I've been getting smogs here for a long time. I had a check engine light on and he helped me reset it and told me exactly what I needed to do to keep it off in order to get the smog passed. I hadn't been over there in 3 years and he still remembered me and my dad. He seemed to know every customer by name. In all my times I've been here, I've never ever got the feeling that I was getting the run around or being lied to. Honest guy who knows his stuff and cares about his customers. What more can you ask for? Him and his wife do a great job. Great place ESPECIALLY if you have an older car or a car that you know will have trouble passing smog. Make sure to check their hours. Location is in an industrial zone which is not the most parking friendly, but the peace of mind you get here makes up for it. Forewarning for people who aren't from East San Jose: he's very straightforward and blunt but don't mistake that for rudeness, the guy is super nice and friendly. Be ready for plenty of banter cause Sai is always cracking jokes. read more

She was shouting the whole time when I asked her for a quote and if I could come in anytime today. Not gonna deal with people who treat me like this. the guy running this place is awesome! really really helpful and kind, to boot. here's the story: we had a 1992 miata checked up in san ramon, and the guy there said it didn't pass because "it's too old". um. any recommendations to make the car newer? anyhow, we took it to in and out and had it checked again after replacing an oxygen sensor. it still didn't pass because it has a header that's illegal in CA, not because it's polluting too much. this is good info to have, right? the guy running the place didn't charge the normal $58, he didn't charge anything at all, mainly because he felt we got screwed by the other place. i will go back here, for sure. and i'll go to all this guy's mechanic friends. totally great experience, highly recommended. read more

Sai deserves your business. Took a Nissan SUV to him that, according to a chain tire store, needed $1100 to pass emissions. When he pulled the codes, only 1 of the 3 that the chain store cited me came up. Per Sai's recommendation, some good gas and a brief stint of long distance driving corrected *that* code, and the truck passed with flying colors. His knowledge of cars goes far beyond emissions issues, as he and I discussed some VW electrical issues in the process. Turns out he was exactly right on *that* too, which meant $800 in repairs instead of $2500.l I can't recommend him highly enough... read more
