Would give 0 stars if I could. Wasn't going to write a review but after visiting a different smog that gave me way better service I had to warn you guys. STAY CLEAR of ASB SMOG CHECK these guys suck they take way too long, they decided to take a smoke break mid process letting my car run for over 45 mins like seriously wtf. Then was charged $72 when last time I was only charged $50. I recently went to Smog check plus in blossom hill and they literally had me in and out within 15 mins not busy at all and only charged $48 SCREW ASB SMOG take your business anywhere else! read more

I thought I had a good experience with this place until my card was charged for my smog check. Normally when you pay anywhere, you may see the charge in the next 5-10 business days. Apparently my card was not charged until 6 months later. I went through an entire fraud investigation on my account just to find out I was never charged for the work until now. I've been here a few times. Despite what the other reviews say, mine is the opposite. The guy never has a smile on his face, he is not personable, and he has a cold unapproachable vibe. One time I came here with a car that was not passing state ref, so I wanted to get a pretest, and as soon as he saw my state ref paperwork, he just blatantly told me "no, no no, cant do, i cant help you". Then just recently I go here and his machine is apparently down and he did the same thing, being a straight DICK about it. So to say he is nice, he is not. There are so many places around that smog, ones with more friendly even though you aren't Vietnamese and/or female (see previous posters on the good reviews), perhaps if I fit either of those criteria I would've had a more pleasant experience. read more

Richard is awesome!! Smogged my car within minutes and was very approachable and professional. Price is comparable to anywhere else. He's also helped me with other minor car issues I've had and everything was good to go. He's also done oil changes on a few of my friends car. He's very knowledgeable. read more

This place was a one-man show when I was there on Thursday afternoon. A smog check costs $41.75 and the certificate is $8.25, so you're in and out in about 35 minutes for an even $50. The waiting area is very bare bones with about 5 chairs, a water dispenser, a few magazines and a desk with a computer for billing and payment. I was impressed with the man's professionalism and honesty and really appreciated the time he took to talk to me about my car. He said if it were up to him, he'd buy a Honda or Toyota because they're the most reliable and the cheapest to repair. In the end, my car didn't pass the smog test but he didn't just come out and say, "YOUR CAR DIDN'T PASS!" He sort of eased into it and let me know in the nicest way possible; I only cried after my dad started screaming at me on the phone asking why I went to get my smog done at 3PM instead of 9AM. The man said that I could get it repaired and then come back for a free smog, which is bonus points in my book. :) read more

My family and I ONLY go to this establishment to get our cars smog checked. Like the previous yelper had mentioned, it is a one man show and you wonder how much hard work he puts into his business. He does EVERYTHING himself! He must get so lonely throughout the time he spends (other than interaction with customers of course) at this shop 7 days a week, yes people! They're open 7 days a week! The owner, Brian is really friendly and always has a smile on his face. He's very personable and always takes the time to explain to his customers why their car didn't pass smog and so on and so forth. The price is really affordable for the quality of the work and the excellent customer service you receive here at ASB Smog Check. I try to come on the weekdays because they're busy on the weekends, but the wait is never too long, he tries to accommodate everyone as best he can. It is really rare to find such a nice mechanic/smog check technician these days, but I'm glad I found this place! It's a bit out of my way but I come here every two years when I need to get my DMV papers done. If he notices that you need anything else done on your car, he'll refer you to a place that will provide great service for a great price to fit your budget! I recommend this place to all my friends and family! It's really a terrific find! read more

I'm writing this review immediately after I had my car smogged. The service provided by this Mom and Pops shop is A++. Richard took my appointment over the phone and reserved a spot for me before I arrived. I got there 15 minutes before my appointed time and he took my car in right away. Went looking for a smog station and came across this hidden gem on Umbarger rd. I had called around to a few places but they ended up being cheaper here. The guys there are really cool and very helpful. Had two cars ahead of me and still only took no more than maybe 30min. Definitely a place I will be reccommending to others! Went to ASB because the other guy I use was closed. The service was fast, 15 minutes in and out. The guy running the shop was extremely friendly and informative throughout the process. I came here several time. I love the old owner. He was friendly and very nice. I came back this weekend for a smog, didn't see the old guy any more. The two new young staff are nice too. But the price was raised from $50 to $56.25. It is worth it because if your car fails the test , they will tell you how to drive so that your car can pass. read more

Went to the one down the street from my house n they wanted to charge me 65.. While the long wait for the smog tech to come in.. I took out my iPhone and found this place on yelp.. I came to this place for a star certified smog test. Even my car not pass he still takes my money and the certificate money. He doesn't help me much. It took almost a week just to solve the smog problem. I drove the car like how he was instructed me to do but still not passing. Luckily, at the end I found a friend that can help me. Learn my lesson ladies and gentlemen. Before you bring your car to any smog test make sure you ask them do you have the policy no pass no paid. if they don't have that don't do it because u will end up loosing hundreds of dollars just going back and forth for the mechanics check and the drive test. So Good lucks and your smog time. Don't loose your money for something it doesn't make sense. I would not recommend this place to any body. He acts like he very nice and a very helpful person but in fact he doesn't care much. read more
