WTF.....how does this place have so many good reviews? I was so excited walking in, thinking I'd found my new weekly go-to pho spot since the one near me closed. Instead, I left completely disappointed. I ordered the tofu pho and it was disgusting!!! soggy, greasy, and bland. To make it worse, everything is packed up like takeout even if you're dining in, which just killed the vibe. Service was basically nonexistent when I had questions. i stopped by saiga eatery for dinner and i was honestly really impressed. its a cute hidden gem tucked away in irvine!! we got the garlic noodles with pork belly, bbq chicken fries, thai tea, and the lychee lemonade. the protein was definitely the star of the meal. the pork belly had the perfect crispy skin while still being super juicy, and the bbq chicken was sooo tender too. the garlic noodles were simple but good, especially with the green aioli. i literally could not stop eating the sauce it has this fresh lime cilantro flavor that goes with everything. i was dipping the fries in it too!! speaking of the fries... they were sooo crispy and stayed crispy the whole meal, which i loved. the thai tea was really good and the lychee lemonade was super refreshing, but a little too sweet for me! service was also really fast and the cashier was super nice. the space is clean and has a cute, modern vibe. my only tiny suggestion would be to play some music because it was pretty quiet inside. other than that i genuinely enjoyed everything and i'd definitely come back! read more

I love that the containers are high quality and large! not the thin plastic ones you typically see that look like they will melt. You can order to go or eat there although there is limited seating. I also ordered their roasted pork belly and garlic noodles. The roasted pork belly was so juicy and has a perfect crunchy skin! That green sauce is money. Noodles has a nice chew and had tons of garlic which I love. The roasted pork belly bánh mì which was yummy! Loaded with lots of pork belly and it is a large, sizeable sandwich. The garlic mayo butter bơ was really good, too which have this sandwhich so much umami flavor. My office catered from here so this was my first time trying Saiga. Holy smokes the food here blew me away! I got the tofu and BBQ chicken with their Vietnamese salad that comes with their fresh mint and basil. My favorite was their fried tofu (5/5)we it was slightly fried on the outside giving a crunch, seasoned so well with Vietnamese spices, and inside was soft pillowy tofu that had so much flavor! I could eat a thousand pieces of this fried tofu that was a flavor bomb and didn't feel heavy. Their bbq chicken came in second best next to their tofu (4.5/5). It was perfectly seasoned on the outside with a crisp, fatty thin skin on top, and so moist on the inside. Dark meat was used which I love! Wasn't fatty at all and it paired so well with the salad and rice. I want to come back to try all their other dishes! Love this casual dining spot! read more

Their pho hot noodle soup is flavorful and comforting, the rice dishes are delicious, and the garlic noodles are a must-try! The garlic noodles weren't super bouncy and were on the thinner side. I thought it could've used more garlic too but I liked the charred pork belly. The banh mi could've used more mayo or even pate but I liked the flavor of the grilled pork. The popcorn chicken reminded me more of chicken nuggets and weren't super crispy. It was ready on-time, packaged to perfection, and still hot when served! Great portions as well. I tried their Tofu Vermicelli. Loved their spicy fish sauce and pickled carrots. The breaded tofu is not that great. I personally think the breading may appeal to the non-Asian palate. I would prefer either non-bread or fried without the batter.
