The bbq chicken banh mi is delicious. The chicken is tender and sliced so that it's really easy to bite through, and the toppings are just the right amount of spicy and juicy. The bread is lightly crispy on the outside and super fresh feeling. I also tried the kimchi fried rice, which is fluffy somehow even though it's full of kimchi flavor. It was also super delicious, and came with chicken and a perfectly fried egg. I'd recommend the kimchi rice bowl for gluten-free people. But the banh mi's are probably the best thing ever. read more

Cashier who takes your order definitely didn't want to be there and was giving attitude for no apparent reason but I figured maybe she's having a bad day. Asian fusion?? Yes!! Vietnamese Asian fusion?? Even better! The rice dishes at Saiga are so flavorful and the meats cooked to perfection! Let me break it down for you: - Steak and egg rice bowl: the steak was cooked medium well with bell peppers and very flavorful on as is with rice, but the sauce elevated the dish even more with its sweetness. The fried egg was also a bonus! - lemongrass pork rice bowl: I'm not a fan of pork but I'd definitely get this again for its flavor. The grilled pork was not at all dry and the lemongrass wasn't overwhelming. Again, the sauce--aioli sauce (in this bowl) was so good!! The creamy aioli sauce went so well with the rice and pickled veggies! This reminds me of a destructed Banh Mi! I love Vietnamese dishes because of the pickled vegetables- so refreshing! -Vietnamese coffee was definitely stronger than most places. The milk was quite creamy and thick and my lactose-intolerant stomach couldn't handle it, but it was worth it! I'd get it again! Saiga definitely has all the flavors you'd want in every bowl! I can easily say this place is the best casual Vietnamese pickup place in the Irvine area. To be honest, I didn't expect their food to be good. But I am glad I was wrong. We got pork belly garlic noodles and a pork belly bowl. The pork belly had such a crispy skin and flavorful meat. In addition, their green aioli sauce was so addicting. The portion here is pretty big for the price also. Picked up two frozen dishes they sell but haven't got a chance to try them yet. Also, the estimated wait time was shorter than what it said. Found this place just driving around, and was happy to stumble on it. It's in the infamous Sky Park plaza by John Wayne Airport. I got the garlic noodles with pork belly, a Thai ice tea, and my girlfriend got the filet mignon pho. The pork belly was very tender, and flavorful. The garlic noodles was the perfect texture, and not overly done on the noodles. I tried some of my girlfriend's filet mignon pho, and the meat was very tender and tasty; cooked perfectly. The broth was ok; nothing that would set it apart from another pho restaurant, but it was good. The only disappointing thing about our meal was it wasn't hot enough. I believe this place specializes in catering, so maybe in someway the preparation process may be different than your typical restaurant. I would definitely come back. There is plenty of parking, and you can walk right up to the front door where you park at. The proteins we like best is bbq chicken and grilled pork. I think the pork belly is a little fatty, which is expected, but still good. Just prefer the chicken over the pork belly. For the banh mi, I literally can eat just the bread, spread and veggies! SOO GOOD!! The bread is rich and comforting and the veggies are perfectly pickled. The vermicelli and rice are also great choices. The veggies are fresh and I'm not a huge fan of fish sauce, but I love their fish sauce! It has a nice kick to it. It's a relatively small space, but there are tables inside if you want to eat there, and everything is prepared to go and all the staff are really nice. The other day, my friend and I got the garlic noodles with pork belly, grilled pork rice bowl, strawberry lemonade, and lychee lemonade. The noodles are savory, garlicky and such a good texture and the pork is perfectly crisped and rich. I loved the noodles, but for the variety, I like the rice bowl more since it has some salad and pickled carrots and I love the lemongrass flavor of the pork. I really was disappointed. Saw so many raving reviews and pictures look delicious but when I got mines totally different story. Took a few pictures of the crispy pork belly and wow are they thin. Nothing like the other pictures. There a pieces that were a little thicker but majority were sliced very thin. You can't even feel the crispy pork skin.
