I got a chance to try out Saiga Eatery the other month and it's a hidden gem in the Irvine parkway. I tried the garlic noodles, pork banh mi, lychee lemonade and Vietnamese coffee. All were so delicious. The garlic noodles were Al dente and the protein was so buttery. The banh mi had a good proportion of additions and the bread was very crunchy. As for the drinks, they were all very refreshing and light. There were lychee bits in the lemonade as well! Overall I'd highly recommend Saiga. I like that they have catering as well. read more

Found this place on a whim through Yelp, otherwise I would never have known to check this place out. As other Yelpers have mentioned, it's in an industrial office area close to John Wayne. Just remember to look for "Smart Kitchens" (Saiga's name is only on the window) when going for pick up. Would recommend the kimchi pork belly fried rice, pork bowl with rice, and the pork rice noodles. Great flavors (especially the meat) and portion sizes. really good banh mi!! i liked the pork belly banh mi so much i came back the same day in the evening. but i do think the quality of service is different compared to the day time. the workers are more attentive and quick with requests. it wasn't as busy during the evening but i just wanted to ask for a cup of water and it took five minutes before someone helped me get one. also the worker in the morning asked if i wanted ice in my water which i greatly appreciated vs. the worker in the evening just giving me a cup of water. would be a 5/5 but just that experience with the change of service made me take off one star :\\ read more

Great place to get delicious Vietnamese takeout! We flew into John Wayne Airport but didn't feel like venturing into any of the restaurants near there to avoid the same airport crowd. We found Saiga on a random Google search and decided to try it. They don't have seating inside and most of the customers are either Door Dash delivery orders or the corporate offices nearby. Thankfully they had bar stool seating with 3-4 chairs that were empty so we didn't have to go elsewhere to eat. I had the garlic noodles with BBQ chicken thigh (breast costs extra, fyi), and my husband had the rice bowl with BBQ chicken rice bowl. Both were delicious, and they definitely don't skimp on the garlic in the noodles! I like that they also have teas (we got the Thai tea with boba and the lychee strawberry green tea, both tasted really good and they don't add too much sugar to the drinks). Parking isn't an issue since it's in a large lot, but to locate the place you'll have to pay attention to the suite letters (it's in Suite B). read more

I ordered Shaking Beef Bowl through work catering. the beef quality and quantity are very poor, too tough and chewy, very few pieces for the $$ price. The flavor is nothing like authentic Vietnamese. The sauce is supposed to be Fish sauce that usually serves with rice dish at vietnamese restaurant, but it is some creamy green sauce tastes like salad dressing. Yesterday I had the grilled pork rice bowl which comes with a fantastic green aioli sauce. It's extremely tasty when you drizzle it all over the pork. In the past, I also had the chicken, pork belly, and shaking beef bowls. All were delicious but my favorite would be the grilled pork. The chocolate cookies are also great. The ones I got were still warm and with just the right amount of moistness. I love soft cookies so this was perfect for me. It seems like Saiga was recently added to DoorDash so I looked on Yelp at the great reviews and ordered with high hopes. I was very disappointed. Being Vietnamese, I know what pho should taste like and this was NOT it. I ordered filet mignon pho - the taste was not good and it had so many spices. My family actually thought it smelled bad. None of us were able to eat it. It's really odd that there are great reviews of their pho. We also had the pork belly banh mi. I thought it was fine but my husband did not like it.
