Let's start with the fact that I'm pretty biased because the Vietnamese food in Los Angeles/Alhambra rocks the house. With that said, Saigon Bay was pretty good and the high Yelp rating is well-deserved! I got the soupless noodles with pork, shrimp and an egg roll, and it was pretty good! I very reasonable $17 for a quick meal with nicely prepared food and good service!

The food is okay here. It is the most authentic spot in the Temple Terrace area, but I think that it is inconsistent with the pho broth taste. The rice and bun dishes are the best in the area though. I recommend getting the bun (rice noodles dish). The service is very fast, and the staff were very attentive.

My friends and I decided to try Saigon Bay for the first time. They provided good service and answered all of our questions in regard to the menu. We got a ton of food! For appetizers, we had krab rangoon, shrimp egg rolls, pork egg rolls, spring rolls, miso soup, shrimp soup, and vegetable soup. Our favorite items were the rangoon, spring rolls, and shrimp rolls. The miso soup was the only appetizer that was not tasty. The entrees we got were the shrimp pad thai, chicken pad thai, beef pho, and the rice & chicken platter. Our favorite was both pad thai.

So happy I can update my review from over 10 years ago. I went to Saigon Bay over a decade ago, but it's completely different. From reading James review, he reminded me of their awful fire in 2020, and how they rebuilt in this location. So happy to stop by here for lunch with my friend. We loved our server who was like a mom to us as soon as we walked in. I ordered a pork banh mi sandwich, & my server said get the quail appetizer, and so I did. My friend got the beef stew - Bo Kho with bread, not noodles. She did not want noodles. We shared them, and I loved the seasoning of the quail. I also loved dipping my sandwich in the broth of the stew. It was so tasty and had a sweet tinge to it. I also loved the carrots. I didn't love the beef so much but I do love the broth and veggies in the beef stew. It's different bc it's a thin broth not like a thick American beef stew. Everything was tasty here. Our server was so sweet. She spoke very good English and she made sure we mixed and made sure we ate the salad with the quail and made sure we had everything just right before we ate it. We liked our booth and there were other tables as well. The counter area is very floral and bright. It's a great spot, and we definitely adored our lunch. They open at 10:30 am.

If you're on the fence about which pho place to go after leaving Busch Gardens, stop looking. The best pho our entire party has ever had while dining out. The pho was so perfect that our son said it didn't even need hoisin sauce. The spring rolls both vegetarian and non were also very delicious. They came out quick and not even a bit greasy. The service here was also excellent! Very friendly staff members! We love this place and will be back next time we visit Tampa!

I have not been here since 2015. I had just gotten interested in pho, but not writing for yelp consistently. I had pho at the then current Fowler location. From what I remember, food was good and the interior was nicely decorated. I tried Saigon Deli later and became a frequent patron for the next 6 years. Unfortunately, the 2020 riots saw this restaurant burned down and seemingly closed for good. Somehow, I never knew that they reopened on 56th in the brick plaza opposite Outback Steakhouse until fellow Elite yelper Rachel L. wrote a review. Inside is a clean, comfortable cafe that can hold about 50 people. There is upbeat Vietnamese music playing. They serve many Viet staples like pho, banh mi, stir fried meat/rice combos, and boba drinks. I ordered pho tai and a grilled pork banh mi sandwich. The pho has a nice broth and there is a good amount of solid food-noodles/beef etc. I'd say Saigon Deli broth is %10 tastier, though Saigon Bay has fresher dressings like jalapeno, mint leaves, and sprouts. 4/5 The banh mi had very crunchy bread, aromatic cilantro and fresh carrots/cucumber, and nicely seasoned meat. The sandwich was about 6 inches in length. 5/5 Awesome! Their pho is $12 and Banh mi are are $7 which are comparable to SDeli and Zen Noodle Bar (I miss $8 dollar pho Stupid COVID lol.) Another pro (for me) is that they are open on Sundays until 9 pm. (They are closed Mondays fyi.) I was going to Zen Noodle for pho the last year, but they seem to have supply issues that is making me lose interest in getting pho from there. Id say Saigon Bay is a great choice for USF/Temple Terrace peeps to get great pho!

This year, making it my mission to find the best Vietnamese restaurant in Tampa. First on the chopping block... 4 stars for food & restaurant category in general. Only 3 stars, in my honest opinion, for specifically Vietnamese food only category. If that makes sense haha Pho and BBH were served piping HOT. It sometimes surprises me how some places will serve me lukewarm warm broth. Like no, I want to burn the inside of my mouth thank you very much. (Hack: if you also like your broth super hot but for your pho meat to not cook too fast, you can order it on the side) Pho was pretty standard and yummy. They use the thin pho noodles. We did have to order extra onions and green onion toppings. Didn't really need to add anything else to the broth. BBH had a good hit of spice. I did add more sate and shrimp paste for more heat and umami. That's just how I personally like my BBH. Will make the note that it had a lot of meat, but they did not serve with the pork hock or blood cubes so I was a bit sad about that. The sate looked like it was made in house possibly?? I'll ask next time I go, but it was actually spicy, whereas store bought sate sometimes not very spicy at all! Posted a quick mukbang on my IG. Here I am again for lunch with a friend, and sad to say that Banh Xeo is no longer on the menu. I ordered Roast Pork Pad Thai, and it was delicious, nicely seasoned, and lots of meat and veggies. Definitely one of my new fave spots in Temple Terrace. We dropped in for lunch randomly and we're pleasantly surprised at this gem located right in the neighborhood! The service was A1 from the time we walked through the door! We were quickly greeted, seated and order was taken promptly. The food came out steaming hot and delicious! Tried out the new location while I was grabbing some mochi donuts & Korean hot dogs nearby (in the same strip mall). The interior is definitely not what it used to be. Much smaller and less decorative. The place was empty when we walked in. The menu seemed cut down significantly as well. We ordered 2 banh mi sandwiches, grilled ribeye & roasted pork. They were pretty good, the bread was soft, plenty of meat, juicy and flavorful. Roasted pork was better in my opinion! Also ordered the lemongrass deluxe stir fry, which had chicken and beef as well many veggies. Portion size was alright, not too large not too small. Could've had a bit more rice though. We also tried the durian boba. Flavor was meh... Boba itself was not great, not chewy at all... very bad quality... would not get their bobas. All in all, food was tasty, good quality, served pretty quickly (took 15 min), we ordered to-go. read more

Once again, Saigon Bay is a wonderful place to have a delicious meal. Today I tried the fried quail appetizer and the chicken with rice. Both were delicious. However, if you've never tried quail, keep in mind that there isn't much meat on the bone! There were definitely hints of various spices on the quail, including a little bit of lime, in addition, the chicken with rice was perfectly cooked. The chicken was soft, succulent, juicy and flavorful. The staff is always nice and I have to say you really can't beat this place for a quick meal on a Saturday afternoon. read more

The prices aren't super expensive and the food was ready quickly after ordering. The ribeye banh mi was delightful - filled pretty full and the baguette was great. The Spicy Beef and Pork Soup (Bun Bon Hue) was definitely SPICY so be careful with that one if you aren't used to spicy. Overall good food and will be back! read more

Excellent customer service and the food was so so so so good...the best fried rice and the shrimp were large...I also had a shrimp bahn mi that was made as a courtesy since it wasn't on the menu. First time eating here and I will be back. My daughter and I stopped in for some post pottery painting eats the other day and enjoyed ourselves. She oohed and ahhed the second we walked in the door when she saw the little shrine and fountain that I have included in my pics. The dining room appeared impecably clean which impressed me. The only downside to my experience was when ordering. I felt incredibly rushed to the point I didn't get a chance to really look over the menu and ended up picking an old goto of Shrimp bun. It was very tasty. As were the crab rangoon app and daughter loved her chicken terriyaki. The crab rangoon and the lunch special terriyaki were both a great value, plenty enought for 2 meals. My food was also a good value w about 10 decent sized shrimp and lots of fresh basil. Since my old favorite Vietnamese spot in the corridor moved to a less convenient location I will definitely be back. read more

I was glad to hear that Saigon Bay had reopened in Temple Terrace after losing their old location to fire 2 years ago. Their food was always good the the people were friendly. Their new place is now a couple of lights away on 56th street, but still not far from USF. When you enter, you'll notice it's about half the size of their old location. Tables are a bit more squeezed tightly but not too bad. Went there during lunch so it was pretty busy, but they came out with the food quickly. Food is still good and the server was attentive so service is still good. Definitely will add this place in my lunch rotation if in the Temple Terrace area. read more

I might be a little biased writing this review--the owners used to have a restaurant in KC where my mom worked at for about 10 years before they relocated & open this spot in Tampa. The restaurant they sold is still thriving & one of the best. So when I moved down to Florida, I absolutely had to find them. Food is still as good as ever! Service was wonderful. I highly recommend this restaurant, and if I lived closer, I'd frequent once a week to get my Vietnamese food fix :) read more

I ordered the Bun Bo Hue for take-out and the food was tasty but the reason why I'm giving the food only 3 stars and my overall rating 4 stars is because when I opened the food container, the receipt for my order was sitting on top of my food. That's a huge no-no. Receipt paper and its ink are carcinogenic. There is no conscionable reason why a receipt should have been inside that food container. Also, I felt that the portion size could have been larger. I felt like they gave me very little meat. Saigon Deli on Waters Ave gives you large portion sizes and the prices are good. You get more for your money. This place could learn a thing or two from Saigon Deli. read more

Craving bahn mi for months now, this really hit the spot. The bread was perfect and the sandwich was big for $6. The meat (I got grilled pork) was a little dry and served cold, but otherwise I was happy with my sandwich. My wife felt her tofu bahn mi was just a bit on the bland side. Taro bubble tea was good, a little sweeter than I like but creamy with lots of boba. read more

fast review because this place is so GOOD. yum, yum, yum everything have tried is delicious. Egg Rolls of every kind; and their Crab Ragoons have stuff in them! best Banh Mi sandwich in north tampa. the baguette is warm and has thin crunchy crust. the gilled pork had that unami fish sauce foundation with some sweet glaze., fresh pickled veggies. no pate which was fine. a little small but was only 6 or 7 bucks. place is packed on a tuesday evening at 800. pm the shrimp pad thai was not good, shrimp very fishy and not fresh. read more

My twin sister was just there and one of the servers was extremely racist to her. Her boyfriend speaks Mandarin and the older lasy they call "grandma" wouldn't give my sister the soup she asked for which is complimentary and her boyfriend asked why she couldn't get the soup is it because she is black the server said nothing....the she proceeded to say "he picked wrong and should've got a white girl" and proceeded not to acknowledge my sister. They have a lot of bad reviews because of her. And nothing has changed!!!Change it Now it is unacceptable read more

Tucked into a popular Temple Terrace strip mall, Saigon Bay serves tasty Vietnamese standards. The place is clean and bright and can be noisy. Service was fast and friendly. My garlic noodles with chicken were full of veggies and had a nice but not overwhelming garlicky flavor. The Vietnamese coffee was super strong and could have used more cream. A good lunch spot, as evidenced by the heavy TT police presence! read more

Situated just a couple of blocks from USF this thriving little Vietnamese eatery is a perfect spot for lunch. The place is always busy with customers coming in and out, but they do have a quick turnaround. They know what they're doing and their menu items are delicious. The spicy beef and pork pho is my favorite and go to meal here. Never had a bad experience and the fact that it's always so busy tells you everything you need to know. Give them a try. read more

I hate to give this low review because I loved this restaurant when it was on Fowler. First, when there was an older lady who waited on me and seemed very inattentiveand rushed but was different with those that were of Asian descent. The menu is o longer the same. It is is basically pho and rice/noodle dishes. They use to have a fish dish that was so good. I ordered a bowl of beef pho. The amount of noodles and beef vs broth was very small in the BIG beautiful bowl. The taste was not as rich but watered down. I was getting up after eating and the old lady acted as if I was about to walk out without paying. She asked me are you leaving and starting talking to staff upfront. I hadn't even gotten out of my chair as normal in the old restaurant...the ticket is at the counter and you go pay. I felt slighted. To say the least I will not be returning. I miss the old Saigon Bay. read more

I was craving some pho and decided to visit Saigon Bay with a friend for lunch during the work week! It was pretty busy but we got a table right away and the service was quick. I got the chicken pho and it was a hearty bowl for an amazing price of around $9!! It came with all the sauces and veggies to add as we liked. Of course I loved that that gave a bushel of cilantro. Overall I was happy with the meal but did feel a little rushed by the staff. I will say the lunch rush was probably not helping but I would come back! read more

Nice little place and fairly busy for a Saturday lunch. I know it's Vietnamese but I decided to try the garlic noodle shrimp which is more of a Chinese dish. I added pork to it and I'm gonna tell you it was really good with lots of garlic and definitely tasteful. My only thing was it's a little oily so next time I'll ask them to back off that and use less. The waiter was really nice and service was good. I think next time I will try the Bánh mì or even the Pho. read more

What a delicious lunch! We were so excited for this to be opening up in Temple Terrace, and boy did not disappoint. Ju was our server and was sweet as can be! Fast service, super high quality ingredients, and the broth in the pho was absolutely delightful. You can tell they cook the bones for hours with how flavorful it was! Tai tea was authentic and strong, as well as having boba! We will definitely be coming back highly recommend. Very happy this is in Temple Terrace! read more

This place is absolutely phenomenal. Amazing food, amazing service, and they always treat their regulars so well. Sad that I don't live a few minutes from them anymore but from my experience elsewhere, they have the best Pho in Tampa by far. My go to when I'm feeling under the weather or just need a pick me up. We got it thin-crust, and while it looked good, it was served completely cold, and the flavor can only be described as cardboard-like. I would definitely try another pizza here, but not this one. My friends also split an order of meatballs, which they loved. While they had wine for dessert, I had a piece of limoncello cake for dessert. It was fantastically lemony and moist, which I loved. Their parking lot is valet only, but fortunately you only have to pay the $6 fee Fri-Sun, so we just had to tip the very friendly valet.

My family and I spent the day at Busch gardens & decided to come eat here after a long day of having a great time. When we arrived, we were welcomed and greeted politely. We arrived around 8:10-8:15. They close at 9pm. Once we say the server ( the older lady ) rushes over, asked if we knew what we wanted. We haven't even opened our menu yet.. so me being familiar with Vietnamese food I ordered be basics appetizers to start off with so we can buy time. The apps came out right away, given us little Time to even fully look at their large menu. Finally, we rushed and ordered our entrees, my uncle who is from France went with a caramelized fish in a clay pot per the server recommendation.. Absolutely no flavor and pure salty.. also he ordered a beer, after she took his beer order she turned around and chucked the menu on tot he other table showing her frustration. My mom and aunt ordered the Bun with charred pork, pork skin and egg rolls.. meal was fine but the sauce had no flavor just a strong fish sauce odor.. My entree was a seafood stir fry noodle.. completely salty. Looked good but didn't taste as good as it looked. The service was horrible, the server rushed us out pretty much. Our food wasn't even on our table for more than ten mins.. she brought the check. By that time I was completely annoyed. Didn't ask if we wanted anything else to drink, didn't ask if everything was okay, didn't ask. If we wanted dessert. She was only worried about leaving home on time. After she brought the check, she finally asked about my uncle entree we said he didn't like it, never asked for a discount or for it to be taken off the check. We took full responsibility since he ordered it. The server said go talk to my manager and she what she will do. They took $8 off the bill.. I'm a restaurant owner, mom and pops Asian restaurant owner just like them.. I would be livid if my customers were treated the way we were.
