I have eaten pho at literally 100+ places, all over America and even Vietnam. For America, this place has a pretty darn convincing feel that you're in Vietnam (interior and atmosphere, not exterior). From the tables and chairs, the wall mounted fans, the hustle and bustle of Vietnamese workers swiftly working the front of the house... it oozes Vietnam, minus the extreme hot, and flies. Everything I had here was amazing. The pho. The pho is definitely top 3 of all pho I've ever had. The presentation sucked, and the broth looked murky and dark. But the flavors and everything about it was simply divine. Truly what a good bowl of pho should taste... just not the look. That's one ugly bowl of pho (I uploaded a pic). This is my favorite spot for Viet food!!! The quality and flavor of their food have not changed over the years. I have been a long time customer even before they moved to this current location. But I finally have a chance to write a review about them now. They open from 8-5 so you better get there early for your Viet food craving. I mostly go during lunch time so it could get pretty hectic inside, outside sitting is also available. My go to order is the mi hai san (seafood noodle soup). The broth is so savory, generous portion, tons of seafood toppings. Price is cheap and very reasonable. I also always order Banh mi with grilled roast pork to go (at least 10 :D), traditional viet baguette with tons of meat inside and other greens like pickled, cucumber, cilantro. I came to this spot because I've been craving Vietnamese food during my trip to Florida. So happy to see that there were a variety of spots to choose from and I'm glad I came here! My boyfriend and I both ordered the Pho Dac Biet, Banh Mi Dac Biet and Banh Mi Thit Nuong. The choice of meats they used for the pho were great and plentiful. I ran out of noodles before meat, which doesn't usually occur at pho places. The broth was on the sweeter side of what I've had in the past, but I still enjoyed it. The crowning jewel/hidden gem restaurant of my college years at USF, and still a staple now that I've graduated and live 40 minutes away- they ALWAYS keep their prices fair, their service fast, their meat plentiful, and I recommend them to literally everyone I know. Larry at the front is a numbers wizard and the friendliest guy. Better pho, banh mi, or cha gio don't exist locally. Obviously check out Saigon Marketplace next door while you're there. Spent about 36 hours in Tampa and noticed there was a pretty significant Vietnamese population so rather than going the regular burgers and beers I gave a few restaurants close to the Tampa International Airport a shot. Saigon Deli was probably the most busiest out of all of them. They had Bahn Mi sandwiches prepared to go along with some really good spring rolls and not to mention the Vietnamese iced coffee. Get a couple of those to go on your way out because they're absolutely. You can expect Quick Service and a very cheap price for quality food. I noticed my other friends' bowls (chicken pho, tofu pho, beef stew with egg noodles, and pho with rare medium slice beef/pho tai) have a pretty good amount of the meat portion and noodles! There's a lot of food already made on the side near the register. Pick them up (and pay) when you get hungry later on :) This place definitely gives you more value than what you paid for! There are many great reviews on this place, and it lives up to all the great reviews. Not very expensive at all. It's usually packed out, especially on Sunday's. I have a couple of places that I love to grab Vietnamese food from and this is definitely one of my two favorite places to go. The spring rolls are fresh as can be and, I can't swear to it, but I think they make the sauces themselves. Everything I have had here is just delicious. Tampa's gold standard for Vietnamese pho, the beef broth is incredible, spectacular, delicious, astonishing... incomparable to every other pho broth. Once you try, you will become hooked. I eat here multiple times a week now, sometimes even at 7:30am for breakfast, and whatever the time, the charming, delightful owner, and his son Larry, are welcoming, courteous and helpful. My favorite restaurant, I'm literally obsessed. Thinh is better suited for date nights, but when it comes to Vietnamese food - to exceptional pho - Saigon Deli will change the way you perceive pho, nowhere else will suffice. Vietnamese people travel from out of state travel to eat here, I need to go back right now, just thinking about it. Have been sick and was in the mood for soup- Pho sounded delicious when looking for lunch somewhere along Waters ave. It was breezy outside so I chose an outside table after ordering inside (I tried paying at the same time but she instructed me to just sit). I ordered tofu pho (I always order beef and just wasn't in the mood), egg rolls and Thai tea over ice. The pho was great and the egg rolls were hot and fresh. All the toppings for the pho were fresh as well. The Thai tea was a bit heavy on the cream side so I asked for a bit more black tea and that helped. The outside seating area was nice and a plus even though its caddy corner to a street with thru traffic I liked it better than inside which seemed hectic and loud (it's very cafeteria style inside). Food was great, service was minimal. I tried asking for a server passing by for the bill and a Togo container and was told to go inside (when I arrived it seemed if I was not "Togo" they wanted me sat at a table ordering) that part was confusing and frustrating. This is such a little hidden gem in Tampa, their Vietnamese sandwiches are so good! It's only about $4 a roll and the size of the sandwich is very generous can actually share it with two people. The spring rolls with shrimp and pork I recommend. This is just my go to spot for the banh mi sandwiches. I haven't tried to many other things on the menu but I'm pretty sure it's good the price is great!! Parking can also get hectic as they are located in a small strip mall with a parking lot that's is just as small. My go to is the Banh Mi with roast pork! Such a savory sandwich! Toasted French baguette with tons of meat inside and pickled vegetables with cilantro and cucumber. Talk about a flavor explosion in your mouth. This thing is so good, I'll even order a few with the vegetables on the side to take home eat for the rest of the week! The prices are really cheap but you get a ton of food. I can't believe I haven't written on review on this little gem! Let's just start with how popular this place is. There is usually a line on the weekend mornings but don't worry! They move fast here so you will waiting no later than 5-10 minutes for a table. I've tried pretty much everything here and have no been disappointed. That's saying something because I'd like to think I'm a noodle connoisseur. You can't go wrong with spring rolls, egg rolls, banh mi, bun bao, pho, bun bo hue, banh canh, bun thit nuong (is that everything?). I also love their iced coffee. Dark and strong like my soul. I had the grilled pork Bahn Mi and my gf had their pork fried rice. The prices are incredibly cheap for the portions and the quality. Her fried rice came with big pieces of grilled pork; not teeny tiny cut up pieces. Our waitress wasn't very friendly/pleasant but the service was fast.
