YUMMM. My brother took me here for lunch last week told stories of how he's been coming here for years, even when it required a commute from his El Segundo office for lunch back in the day. In just this first experience, I ould already see why. We went for a very late lunch (close to 3pm) and the place was still quite busy. The pho here...it just, well HITS. So satisfying - sheer perfection from broth to toppings, I simply can't explain. They offer different sizes, so take consideration especially if you're like me and wanted to also try an appetizer (cha gio/egg rolls) or add toppings (meatballs), as I got full fast, and in hindsight could have done with the 'Small' over 'Regular,' considering. Vietnamese coffee was also fantastic - the rocket fuel I needed, and served in a to-go cup which ended up being exactly what I did.

The vibes are immaculate. If you really love Vietnamese food (and not just pho), you need to visit Saigon Dish in Lawndale. The food comes out hot at lightning speed. My favorite dish is their Bun Bo Hue without the ham hock. Surprisingly, it's not spicy but tangy, which suits my preference. Tip: Pay with cash for a discount.

An Asian guy recommended this place to me so I knew it would be awesome and he was right . This is the best Vietnamese restaurant I've tried in Southern California by far. The pho soup is rich and flavorful, perfectly balanced with high quality sliced filet mignon. Their Vietnamese style pad Thai was also amazing and a standout, not dry like Thai restaurants serve. The oil that they add to it makes all the difference! You know a restaurant is doing something right when you have to sign into an iPad to get on the waiting list by the front door. 5 stars all the way!

A great local spot to satisfy your Vietnamese cravings! We stopped by for an early Friday dinner and found the place already busy, but luckily a table opened up for us. I like to switch things up between pho and bun rieu, and that night I went with the tomato-based noodle soup. It was a bit mild at first, but adding extra shrimp paste made it just right. I also appreciated that the staff had no problem blanching the bean sprouts upon request just the way I like them. My husband ordered the grilled pork chop with rice, and they were happy to swap out the shredded pork for a fried egg. We also shared an order of shrimp cakes to start. The food came out quickly, service was prompt, and overall it was a great experience. We'll definitely be back to try more dishes on the menu.

Got here about 12:15 PM and the parking lot was already pretty full. I lucked out and someone was leaving, so I was able to park near the entrance. The dining room was packed with lunch time diners. I only had to wait about 5 minutes for a table to be cleaned. I noticed most of the people eating were either Asian or Hispanic. That is usually a good sign and didn't fail this observation. I order a regular size filet mignon pho with noodles and a bottle of Bia Saigon beer. The pho broth was spot on, noodles were the perfect consistency and filet mignon was tender and tasty. The Bai Saigon lager was refreshing on this warm day. Staff is very friendly and efficient at helping the diners and quickly turning around the tables. I did order pork belly banh mi and beef banh mi sandwiches to go to eat for dinner tonight. They have a very extensive menu, so could be challenging on deciding what to order.

I have been searching high and low for a Bo Kho with a thicker roux like broth, it's how I was introduced to Vietnamese beef stew in Virginia. Saigon Dish is the first restaurant I've found near LA that prepares Bo Kho that way. My dramatic self stopped the employee to tell him how long it's been since I've had a Bo Kho that reminded me of home. Although it was sweeter than what I'm used to, it was still delicious. I was lucky enough to come in on a Saturday when the Banh Xeo was available. The crepe was light and crispy (now this dish I'm actually used to being a bit sweeter) but the nuoc mam really balanced everything out. I contemplated taking a container of the fish sauce home but I know what happens if that spills in your car. Anyways, this is one of those restaurants where you want to come hungry so you can eat 3 meals.

One of the best pho restaurants I've been to...and I've been to plenty. Portions were big and flavors were spot on. You should expect to wait a few minutes to get a table. It's that good!!!

The Baseline: For a Vietnamese cafe the Pho must be quality, the accompaniment add-in ingredients must be fresh, the meats must be well prepared, and menu must have authentic Vietnamese flavors. Food: I had the 11 tonight which was Pho with lean beef and brisket. This compares great against the most popular #13a. Great meal tonight and the spring rolls were awesome. Service: Great service from the wait staff this evening. Ambiance: The restaurant is clean and busy on this visit. There was a line waiting out the door.

Decent place for pho! You can tell it's a local spot -- a lot of the people working here know their regulars who come here so that was nice to see! Eggrolls: sad that they didn't come out freshly fried (but that meant that they came out very quickly) but flavor of the fillings was great! My preference for the fish sauce is a bit more funk with chilies but honestly no complaints other than the fact that it didn't come out piping hot. Pho filet mignon: got the regular size which came with a decent amount of beef and a GENEROUS amount of rice noodles. Broth was nice, clean, hot, and light but lacked in the flavor of spices but pretty good and if I was in the area I'd come back to have pho here.

still remains my favorite spot for pho and yet to find a spot that tops it for me. the broth is always so fresh and fragrant. everything comes out so quick and service is always amazing. portions are very filling, whether it's the apps or the entrees. i truly can't find anything to complain about. id wait hours for this

Came for lunch on a Thursday and it was packed! Didn't have to wait too long though and they also have a yelp waitlist. Ordered the bun rieu which was delicious. Broth was savory and they're very generous with the portions - gave a lot of meat and noodles in a large bowl. Also got the spring rolls which were good - meat a little dry in spring rolls.

We ordered the Special Combination Pho and the Special Combo Rice Platter. The pho had a clear light broth that was tasty. Rice noodles cooked well. I did think the meat portion was quite skimpy despite ordering a large size pho. The combo rice platter was a nice way to try a bit of everything. The short ribs were tender. Came with a hearty broth as well. Food came out super fast and the servers were nice. Good place for takeout as well. Giving it 4 stars since you can get more meat for your buck elsewhere! Would be open to coming back if I'm in the area.

Do you guys offer party tray options (ie can I order 40 egg rolls ahead of time)?

Yes absolutely. Just give me a couple hours advance notice. We’re currently closed and will reopen Monday Aug. 5

    Do they take apple pay?

We accept most majot types of payment including Apple Pay. We also offer 5% discount for CASH payments. The only thing we don’t take is EBT

What is the "low carb option", what do they give you, I cannot find any description. Do they just not give you rice or is there veg or salad instead?

When following a specific diet, individuals are typically aware of what they can and cannot consume. In the case of a 'low carb' diet, there might not be specific descriptions since it can be customized based on personal preferences. I would suggest…

As of April 5, 2021 does saigon dish have outdoor dining? do they take reservations?

Yes both outdoor and indoor dining areas are available. You can make reservations if you want to but you don't have to.

What type of fish do they use?

    It's Catfish.

Do they have heat lamps outside?

I was there last week and they did not have heat lamps. The pho warmed me up!

    Does Pho here have MSG?

MSG syndrome is a debunked racist anti-Asian myth used against Asian restaurants. Sadly, racist marketing was so effective it's still around even if there's no scientific support.

What items do not have nuts?

Most items do no have nuts since I have a peanut allergy myself. Peanuts are usually added as a topping at the end of food preparation so you can always tell the server to leave it out. Just stay away from the peanut dipping sauce for the spring…

    Is their pho gluten free?

Our pho is 100% gluten free but just don't add the hoisin( dark bottle) sauce

Will Saigon Dish do separate checks?

Yes, just tell them at the counter what your part was. They ring you up by table number.

    Is there anything vegan?

As Paulina and Art have said, there's a vegetarian section on the menu and #49 (vegetables with pho in vegetable broth) appears to be vegan.

One of our coworkers has been coming here for 20 years, so we knew we were in good hands! I got to try items from not only my plate, but hers as well. The food was hit and miss. The beef teriyaki, which they cooked exactly to the doneness I requested, was incredibly good. The steak was tender - the teriyaki sauce was spot on. I also liked the macaroni salad which was hiding behind the lettuce. However, the sashimi and tempura missed the mark. While the slices of sashimi (e.g., tuna, salmon, and yellow tail) were fresh, they were cut way too thick. The assortment of tempura tasted good, and was crunchy, but was battered way too heavily. It felt like the batter was the focal point of the dish instead of the vegetables and shrimp, which I could barely taste. The service was excellent. Our server was attentive even though the restaurant was packed with people. The food and drinks came out fast. They served our sodas in chilled mugs, which was a nice touch. I didn't enjoy the fact that it was uncomfortably warm in the restaurant (it was hot that day). I don't think the AC was running. However, I won't count this against the establishment since the server stopped by our table to apologize about the warm temperature in the room. Some final thoughts about this place. -We came right at opening. The place filled up pretty fast. -There was plenty of parking behind the restaurant. -If this restaurant had executed the small things more effectively, as opposed to focusing on preparing the food quickly, this could have easily been a five star write up.

Both dishes were exceptional and packed with flavor. You can tell they use quality ingredients, and everything tasted fresh. The portions were very generous, we couldn't finish our meals and happily took the leftovers home. Of course, we couldn't leave without trying dessert! I ordered the Chocolate Grande Cake, and my husband got the Chocolate Carrot Cake. Even though we were stuffed, we took them to go, and I'm so glad we did. They were incredibly rich, moist, and delicious. We were definitely in chocolate heaven! Our bill came to about $120 before tip, which included the appetizer, two entrées, and two desserts. Considering the generous portions, excellent service, and overall quality of the food, I thought it was well worth it. From the food and service to the atmosphere, Bossa Nova Brazilian Cuisine exceeded our expectations. We were so impressed that we'll definitely be back to explore more of the menu. If you're looking for a cozy restaurant with delicious food, generous portions, and outstanding service, I highly recommend giving this place a try. It definitely deserves all 5 stars!

Bossa Nova deserves 5 stars…read more I came here with a group of 10 people, and even with that many, we were seated in about 30 to 45 minutes. I thought that was very reasonable. The service was excellent throughout. Our server was attentive, friendly, and managed our large group without a hitch. I originally planned to order one of the salmon bowls, but a friend pointed out that all the chicken is certified halal. That changed my mind, and I ordered the Grilled Chicken on Fire (Cajun) instead. This is a big plus for the Muslim community in the area. It's not always easy to find restaurants with certified halal options, so I really appreciate that Bossa Nova offers them. I have already recommended this place to several friends, and they will definitely check it out. For my sides, I chose the roasted vegetables, sweet potato fries, and plantains. Everything was delicious. The Cajun seasoned chicken was juicy, flavorful, and cooked perfectly. The sweet potato fries were crispy on the outside and soft on the inside. The plantains were fried perfectly, with just the right amount of sweetness, and the roasted vegetables complemented everything nicely. I also ordered a Guaraná Zero, which added a nice touch to the meal and is something you don't find at many places. I really enjoyed the atmosphere too. They had the FIFA World Cup playing on the TVs, so it was fun to watch the matches while having dinner with friends. Overall, this was a fantastic experience. Great food, excellent service, halal options, and a fun atmosphere. I will definitely be back.

I was able to grab a table immediately around 11am before the afternoon lunch rush set in. Thank goodness because it got busy really fast. The restaurant itself isn't very big so there aren't many tables. We got garlic fries to start with. Ordered it because other tables all ordered it, must be good. And yes they were very good. Perfectly crispy with a touch of garlic. I didn't love the lychee drink we got. We got the bun bo hue and it was surprisingly very very good. It's got all the staple pieces even the blood cubes. My friend got a shaken beef and she devoured the whole plate lol. Also got a pho and she enjoyed it too. The food is so so good here and I can see why they have a second location. Very authentic and just good affordable Vietnamese food that hits! We left the restaurant and we are standing around outside because one of my friends ordered a sandwich to go. 10 minutes passed and the waiter comes out and asks who dropped a $100. I knew immediately it was me while I was fumbling my around trying to pay the bill. They could've kept it, I'm so impressed with their honesty and integrity.
