Busy place for pho Wanted to try this place because of all the Yelp reviews. It was 8pm on Wednesday night and Yelp says there was a 15-20 min wait so I added myself to the waitlist, and I was 6th in line. Right after adding myself, surprisingly, I received a text that my table is ready. When I get there, there was no wait. Don't get me wrong. The place was still pretty busy for 8pm at night but there were several tables available. They have not been clearing the waitlist so it appears as if there is a wait on Yelp. I ordered the vermicelli with pork, shrimp, and egg roll and the spring roll. The food came super quick, within minutes! The bowl for the vermicelli was packed to the brim. It was a decent serving but it was hard to mix the ingredients in the bowl it came with. I thought the fish sauce tasted bland but the egg roll was very meaty and pork was good. Overall, it didn't stand out to me. Spring roll tasted fresh and delicious. Service was meh. By 8:20PM, they were already putting chairs up on the table with half the restaurant with people still eating which looked weird to me. I could tell workers were ready to go. read more

Solid pho place. The broth was really tasty, noodles cooked to perfection, but felt that there could have been more meat in the bowl. I had small combo pho and there was only a few pieces of meat, maybe one meatball, and a small piece of tendon and tripe. My partner had the large bowl and also felt there could have been more meat. The Thai tea and Vietnamese tea were refreshing and delicious. Service was quick and everyone was polite. Excellent, no B.S. Pho and other food, super fast service, and inexpensive prices. What's not to like? This has become my go-to for Pho. Once you try it, I'm sure it will be yours, too. Parking can be a little dicey sometimes, as it's in a strip mall and shared by other businesses. But I've always been able to park in the lot. The makeshift outdoor dining area got me through Covid. Saigon is amazing that's all I need to say. It's a stable down here in Hawthorne for many years and every time you pass by you will most likely see a long line out of the restaurant. I would say so far during my time in the South Bay this is the best Pho That I have tasted and my wife and I try many. We've settled here at this place even though it's a bit of drive. Why do we like it? It's definitely something in the broth that just smacks you in the face and makes you go "ohhhh." It has a rich flavor and even my vegetarian wife thinks her broth has great flavoring. Even the wide dishes are done well with the egg rolls always being crispy and delicious. I was meeting my friend in Lawndale and she suggested this place. I guess her family has been going here for years. I grabbed a table outside and waited for my friend. Got a soda chanh while I waited - which was not great. They basically put lemon in the soda water without much thought. To pay $2 for that drink was a waste. My friend got there and she asked the owner to come out and had a question. She wanted to order this dish she saw at another restaurant and wanted to see if they had it. He basically told her to order one of the chow mein dishes, so she did. I got the filet pho mignon. Food came out fast and my pho was okay. It wasn't as tasty as I am used to but was still good. Saigon Dish has a bunch of items to choose from on the menu, including a dish I had never tried called chiw chow soup. I just had to try it and was happily surprised. Chiw chow soup is a blend of southern China and northern Vietnam cultures. This dish consists of egg noodles, BBQ pork, seafood, and a zesty sauce. I ordered it dry so I dipped the noodles into the broth which I enjoyed. I haven't really seen this dish that much in other restaurants so definitely check it out when you're here! We also ordered the pho combination with all the good toppings like sliced beef and tendons and the Bun Ga Xao Xa Ot which is BBQ chicken and vermicelli noodles. My go to spot for Pho. I always place a to go order for #13A which is their pho filet mignon. Nothing is more comforting than a hot bowl of delicious pho after a long day of work and TV. Also hands down did not expect their #1 eggroll to be that good. There's something about the filling that makes this not your average eggroll. This dish comes with a side of romain lettuce to help balance out the oilyness. It may take 1-3 calls before you get through to someone to place an phone order, but it's usually quick so not mad about it at all. read more

Decent PHO in the south bay area without having to drive to (Westminster) OC for pho 79. The broth is good enough to not require any modification. The portions with meat are reasonable price including it being pretty fresh meats. The regular bowl is good enough for me. The photo is a Large but a bit too much for me. They do best on the PHO. Other soups are offer for variety are OK but it can't compete with OC restaurants. The rice plates and veggie plates are OK. However, I wouldn't order banh mi sandwiches from here. They do offer Vietnamese & Thai coffee including young fresh coconut. The restaurant is small (larger 7 eleven) so gets packed during dinner. This requires waiting outside (especially during the winter) so dress warm. No reservation, join a wait list on arrival. Free parking is shared with other stores. The owner and staff are very nice They are very efficient so as busy as they are they are much faster than larger chains. There's a 5% discount for using cash vs. Credit cards. read more

The bun bo hue wasn't spicy and didn't have a lot of flavor. There's an option to get it with or without ham hock. For the pho, there are various size options. My dish was lackluster overall. My friend was similarly ambivalent about his pho. The shrimp on the sugar cane stick was alright, though I did like the sweet chili sauce it came with. I order their chicken pho with their Saigon specialty flat noodles often! #16 Pho Ga. Their noodles is my favorite. You have the option to choose regular noodles or their specialty noodles but I would highly recommend their specialty noodles. When you order the pho you can also choose to order extra toppings. Their Bok choy and vegetables with tofu is my go to! It's super filling and goes well with their broth and noodles. I usually don't like eating vegetables but I really like to order this! I'll also order their vermicelli bowls with beef and egg rolls. #26. Bun Cha Gio Thit Nuong It's super flavorful and filling. Their egg rolls are really good too! Best Vietnamese food in LA by far. The family of my son's Vietnamese girlfriend says it is better than in their country. The service was outstanding, almost too quick, as we wondered if they wanted to get us out quick. But they told us to take out time and we could see that people loved coming there just to hang out. My wife who can normally eat a lot and everything on her plate, was so full after the bowl she ordered and loved. It is certainly in ugly strip mall and probably could improve its ambiance, but it is probably mimicking Vietnam places so let the experience wash over you. On side note there is a wonderful, almost historical and famous, Vietnamese grocery store just around the corner called Saigon Market. They have stuffed so much stuff into that tiny little place.
