Came here on a Friday evening and got seated right away. They have plenty of indoor seating with a calm atmosphere. The menu has a great variety of popular Vietnamese dishes. Wow the matcha here is sooo good!! I asked the employee and they said they use a very expensive matcha from Japan. No wonder!! I had the Matcha Jade and the Coconut Matcha Cloud. Both were great. Oh my goodness. First time here, and it blew me away. People always told me they have the best pho, which was proven correct, but the real hidden gem was the RED CURRY! It was the best curry I've ever had, and it was on accident when we ordered the scallion pancakes (the curry comes on the side). This item has a star next to it on the menu, and I always like to try something new, but wow.. that red curry sauce sure does go well on everything, including the fried rice we got (also 10/10) and the chef (who we wanted to thank for the experience) gave us a bit of curry to go to put on our eggs the next morning! I don't quite know what to say about Saigon District. The location is perfect for me. Just a few minutes from home. There is loads of parking. The service is great, friendly and fast. Inside the place is comfortable and light and clean. Maybe I am just not a good judge of Viet cuisine. I had the sandwich, because I am that kind of guy, pork. It was tasty but unsatisfying. The French fries were world class! My girl got the noodles and egg rolls. She was also unsatisfied. Not really anything we could put our fingers on. I feel bad to say we are probably not going back. We ordered House Grilled Salmon, Pad Thai and Vermicelli combo with lemongrass beef. Pad Thai and Vermicelli combo was good but not the House Grilled Salmon. The Salmon was under cooked and so little for the price $20 (my 19 months baby almost finished the whole fish by himself). We also ordered the Kyoto Garden drink and it was good since it wasn't very sweet which is perfect to our liking. Came for lunch on Saturday around 1pm but the place was empty. My previous review got removed ... Had a bad experience here, the food was always good but the owner pulled a bait and switch that was really odd. Came in with my wife and ordered the specials that are advertised on the tables, after taking our order the waiter after talking to the owner came back to let us know they no longer have the specials? I pointed out its still advertised on the table and he advised me the owner wants full price. (The owner should make sure they advertise correctly) I again pointed out its actually being advertised and they should honor the displays they have. He didnt care and was very rude about it? Ill pay for good food anywhere, not an issue. but to actually advertise it and not honor your own display is very shady. The owner didnt even make eye contact or try to be decent about the situation. We walked out and wont be back. Too many honest spots to come play shady games. Avoid this bait and switch scam this owner will pull on you. If this is what happens to your face, Im scared of what they do back in the kitchen. read more
