One of my favorite spots in town! Its a small mom and pop restaurant but very clean and well kept. Its a hidden gem! Its comfort food for me and I come here often when I want pho and spring rolls fix. The owners are super nice and they always remember what me and my boyfriend order. I always get the springs rolls (A3), the pho combo (P1), or the grilled pork plate (R3). I've tried their grilled pork bahn mi's and they're also good. I'm never disappointed when I come here and the food always comes out fast. The customer service and food is authentic. Not too many pho spots in the area but this one is my favorite. I was pleasantly surprised by this place! It is a hidden gem! After growing up near Little Saigon, Westminster, CA, I can proudly say that I have experienced pretty authentic Vietnamese food outside Vietnam. This place was amazing! We tried a bowl of pho with steak and tendon, which was flavorful without being too salty. I wish it had more meat in it, but I had enough food on the table, so I cannot complain about it too much. Their fried rice is oh-so-delicioso. I love Vietnamese style fried rice over any other kind like chinese, korean, etc. It's got that unami flavor that makes you want it nonstop.. there was plenty of carrot bits, chunks of fried egg, and a handful of shrimp in it. The price was about 7.50ish? Not bad at all! And we got an order of egg rolls as our appetizer... Yum! So good :) it was perfectly fried with some yummy fillings inside of it! There's really not many pho places in Vacaville or Fairfield, but Saigon Pho is my favorite one of them all. It's a small, dainty restaurant that's very well maintained. They keep the interior clean and the bathroom is pleasant. The service is friendly (and that's saying a lot for Vietnamese places because let's be real, we're rude as hell sometimes). Our server always remembers our orders and she's the perfect amount of attentive. I've gotten a few different appetizers here like the potstickers, chicken wings, and eggrolls. They're all delicious. They have decent pho, both beef and chicken. I find myself ordering their pork chop rice plates a lot because most days, it's really flavorful. Sometimes, they're a little heavy handed on the seasoning, but I'm not one to complain about that. I love their Vietnamese coffee and coconut shakes (with pearls!). There was this time where my drink was literally sugar water, but the other 10 experiences have been kind to me so it wouldn't deter me from reordering. Normally I would give this place a 4 or 5 star review but this most recent time I went I left with an upset stomach and confusion. I ordered my standard chicken pho (pho ga) size small and when I drank my broth, before adding anything, it tasted like straight up fish sauce. Confusion, but maybe it was the spoon. I move on to eat it and the more I ate, the worse I felt about the food. I've eaten here about 5 times now and never had any issues. This recent time is making me consider finding another local pho place because it wasn't worth an upset stomach that lasted about 3 days. Overall, except for this recent experience it's a fairly standard pho place with only two sizes. Much better than Pho King in Davis but the location by Country Square Market is better I think, that will be my new regular now. read more

Not much to say about the Bahn Mi's here. Hardly enough meat to cover the 8 inch baguettes. The pictures are misleading online and I should have taken more angles to show the lack of substance compared to the baguette size to share with everyone. The baguettes were fresh and tasted good but were far too big for what filling they put in it. Literally you could taste the bread and cilantro. Thank god I love both of those. I guess you get what you pay for at $4.75 and $5.25. I would rather have had a smaller baguette for the same price or a higher price with more meat and pickled veggies. The lack of flavor and meat was super disappointing. I had to dress my combination sandwich with soy sauce and sriracha for an added umami flavor. Iced Vietnamese coffee was pretty good though. So here is where this place completely lost me. The lady who took our order brings a tray of stuff out to the table behind us in the back of the restaurant and starts making egg rolls. She handles her phone and starts a Vietnamese soap opera on full volume... so annoying! FYI-I'm Vietnamese and bilingual and it would have been annoying in any language. So recap: She has now handled her phone and is making egg rolls (I'm assuming she is making it for the restaurant) with no gloves. I then watched her get up grab menu's and seat customers only to sit right back down and make egg rolls (again, I'm assuming for the restaurant patrons)with NO hand washing and NO Gloves. The wife and I normally frequent a different pho location, but decided to try Saigon Pho. Located in Vacaville in a small shopping plaza. The restaurant is small and clean. The staff are friendly, and they interact with their customers through out their meals. Compared to other pho locations we've been to, the menu choices at Saigon Pho was smaller. Bit this is not indicative of the food taste and quality. Although there were less choices than other pho locations, the food here is good. The only disappointment we had was the fried shrimp spring rolls. It was basically shrimp by itself wrapped and fried. Safe to say, we'll probably try something else for an appetizer the next time we come here. Our pho was delicious, and I was happy that the broth was not oily like some other places. I have a feeling we'll be coming back here. We have other go-to pho locations, and we will be adding Saigon Pho to that list. read more

I got the combo bahn mi (made with chicken, pork, and beer) which was excellent. The bread was a great consistency of crunchy on the outside but soft on the inside. All the veggies inside were delicious. Plenty filling and a good price of less than $6. The Thai ice tea with boba was a nice add on as well for a hot summer day! After a long Christmas shopping day at the outlet mall my boyfriend and I were both starving and broke. Saigon Pho is close driving distance and fit the bill for the chilly afternoon. We shared the beef pho which had skirt steak and a ba minh sandwich with pork. The food came really quickly and we dived in. The pho was very flavorful and we enjoyed adding the spicy sauce, bean sprouts and basil. It was delicious and a large bowl was easy to share between two people. The sandwich was massive and I can't believe it was only 5 dollars! We gulped it up and both loved it. The large sandwich was also easy to share between two people. As a Vietnamese person, I understand the menu and food better than most other "critics." The menu is simple, and very customizable. A pho restaurant does not need to lay out every combination of pho, it's unnecessary. I like the fact that you can pick and choose rather than ordering strictly off the menu. The dishes they serve are the most traditional and popular of the Vietnamese cuisine. The food is legit, home cooking. Plus, they're still in their experimental stage. They're seeing what's popular, and adding new items to their menu. They've added a Seafood Pho and are in the process of adding new vegetarian dishes. The recipe for the pho is better than any other pho place outside of Sacramento and SJ. The pho restaurant down the street from Saigon Pho uses too much MSG (personally, I try to avoid as best I can). MSG is used to enhance flavor, so you must use MSG in pho. The flavoring is perfect, not too enhanced, and not too watery. This broth is the closest I've come to my grandmothers home cooking in Solano County. The staff- the staff is new, and has cut down since the opening I've noticed. They are very friendly and helpful. I can see that their goal is to always please the customer. In almost every pho place you'll see the owners in the front which I don't like. But at Saigon Pho, the owners actually speak English quite well. My friends sometimes have a difficult time communication with their waitresses and the owners at other pho restaurants, but there was no "language barrier" when asking questions. I like that Saigon Pho is very traditional, but also incorporates American culture into their restaurant. The music selection they play is Light Rock and Pop. Personally, I do not enjoy Vietnamese music- at all. I do not want to listen to the radio when I eat either. I enjoy the music selection, it's appropriate and enjoyable. Nothing too bad. Did anyone say Monday night football?! They keep a schedule of our home teams and have sports on the big screen every night. Sanitation- I don't know about you, but I'm very questionable of Vietnamese (and Chinese) restaurants. I can see that this place stresses sanitation. It is a lot more high class than other Vietnamese restaurants, and a lot cleaner for that matter. I noticed the waitress washing her hands after switching between every task. The man from the kitchen was also wearing gloves which is uncommon in Vietnamese restaurants. All in all, this place is great if you enjoy authentic Vietnamese food. read more

I didn't have their pho, instead I ordered from the other half of the menu and bottom line? Not worth it. $7.25 for their combo plate which like other Vietnamese restaurants in the area come with pork chops, chicken wings and an egg roll over rice. My itty bitty pork chop was super dry because they pre-cut it to cook it faster. Not only was it dry, but it was small, way too small. The chicken wings were also itty bitty and way too salty, I wouldn't recommend them. The chicken wings at Saigon Bistro in Fairfield and the other Pho place down the street near County Square Market are much better. The egg roll was good, but the egg roll wasn't good enough to save them. They were even skimpy on the tomato and cucumber that came with plate AND there wasn't any pickled daikon and carrots! Sorry Saigon Pho, I won't willingly return unless the issues with the meat are worked out. I also came in with a coupon for a $1 smoothie. They were out of more than half of their flavors and didn't have any tapioca. I ended up going with a mango "smoothie" and it was more of a watery mango slushie. Best pho, hands down, in Vacaville. Unless you're in the Bay or in Sacramento, there are not that many options in between. I like this place for its pho, but the other place in Vacaville for their spring rolls. Parking lot is sort of cramped, but free and accessible. $0.05 charge on credit/debit cards for any amount under $10. My usual is the beef balls pho (I don't like the other stuff except tendons). They give you a good amount of meat! The soup is pretty good too. They serve the food relatively fast. The customer service is good too, they're very nice. Bun bo hue is decent too!
