I first tried this place a few days back. What I first notice was this was a very clean place. The place was pretty small though, but luckily, it wasn't too busy. First off, their combo meat sandwich is one of the best sandwiches I have ever eaten. I have noticed their meat portions have been reduced from when they first started serving them, but ho hum, still yummy. Most places, use typical thinly sliced cheap deli like meat in their Vietnamese sandwiches, but not this place. Here they actually give you what appears to be freshly cooked and sliced meat. I believe/hope :) the combo sandwich consists of chicken and pork, with Vietnamese style sandwich veggies. Their pho is as good as the next guy's, as are the avocado shakes and egg rolls. Can't really comment on the other dishes. Service has always been pretty good. The main girl there has always been awesome and always gets the order right. The others, it's a crap shoot. Nevertheless, even when they've gotten my order wrong they still brought me something delicious. Point of this review, try the combo sandwich. read more

This is probably one of my favorite restaurants in town. I haven't tried anything on the menu that I didn't like. The staff are all super friendly and the service is great. The staff members even remember to not include onions in my son's order when we forget. Some of my favorite items from the menu are the boba smoothies and the banh mi (vietnamese sandwiches). The looks of the big bowls are very deceiving. Usually when we eat at a pho or ramen place, eating the contents of the soup causes the soup level to fall. But here, that isn't the case. The soup level remained the same after eating everything in the bowl. Also, the broth tasted so watered down. While we were eating, the workers were rudely getting in the way, filling up sauces that were already full and replacing napkins, spoons, and chopsticks. read more

First of all I am not a PHO expert. I just like food. I found the restaurant to be clean with a very friendly atmosphere. I see a lot of negative about the place (listed here) and have to wonder. I had a BBQ pork and noodle bowl. ( Not real adventurous I know) The bowl came to me very hot, The pork tasted great and the portion size was very nice. I am a big guy so it really filled me up. My fellow eaters are also food lovers and enjoyed their meals. Everything was well presented and tasty. The pricing is right in the ball park for a good lunch. the service was good and the owner (I think his name is Denny?) was a terrific host. I will go back and see if I encounter anything like what I have read here and will post accordingly. My thoughts are to always try a brand new restaurant at least twice. A best friend took me here for lunch. We were seated fairly fast as only one table was occupied. Ordered the Dac Biet Pho and she ordered the Bbq beef over rice. The food came out fairly fast. Tasty enough to warrant 4 stars though not the best of all bay area vietnamese places. Service was attentive. Place is cozy. Prices are on the low end. Parking lot is decent sized. I used to go here all the time when they first opened. The owner was friendly and always spoke to us. When we moved we always went to the other one across town kuz it was closer. So 4 yrs later we finally came back this place and it beats them by a mile. My son always gets the pork chops. At the other place he always brings home food. Not at saigon, he killed it and couldnt stop complimenting on the flavor as he did. Same as my daughter, never finishes her pho but at saigon she killed it. Me and the wife love the bahn mi sammiches and the pho is delicious. My bill is significantly less then the other place and i actually order more here. And get this, they refill water..ANND..they actually remember us here and greet us kindly. Highly recommend this place and i boycott the other place which i wont even plug their name. Got the Pho and the egg rolls. Both were quite tasty, and they were happy to leave out the tripe at my request (most of the menu combos have it included). For lunch I had the fresh spring rolls and the shrimp vermicelli bowl. I really enjoyed the rolls and the peanut sauce very very much. The bowl was delicious. The only thing I didn't love was that it seemed the grilled shrimp still had some kind of breading on it. So it got soggy in the vermicelli bowl and it made it difficult to get the tails off. Best Pho in town. The service is outstanding--attentive, flexible, and genuinely enthusiastic. The menu is mercifully brief for a Vietnamese restaurant, yet you can ask for any meat combo you want in your soup. Special orders of side dishes, kid sizes, and bowl splitting are all welcomed. I started working at a nearby business and find myself coming to this place at pretty regular intervals. At least once a week. The reason why? It's good Vietnamese food. Growing up around Vietnamese food my whole life, I am very familiar with good (Like Saigon Pho) and bad (Noodle House in Fairfield). I'm very comfortable in recommending this restaurant to anyone who would like to try Vietnamese food. It's a really casual place, but that is the way of most Vietnamese places I find myself enjoying. Rainy cold weather = Time to find some good hot meal. This was my 3rd visit to this little quaint restaurant located in a little strip mall that your would miss driving by if you blinked. Today I ordered some spicy wings, a large bowl of pho and because they had Vietnamese sandwiches listed I had to give one of those a try. I have been on a journey to find some good Asian wings like the ones you can find in San Francisco, and with some disappointment I'm still looking. The wings were juicy and hot,crispy but there was no hot spicy to be found. Had there been some sauce this may have been a hit.. but again a miss. The pho was a traditional pho with the accompanied sprouts, basil, cilantro, hot peppers and lime. As far as portion size the bowl was huge and could easily be shared between two people. The broth was clean and delicious and would rank it up with some of the best I've had. Lastly the Vietnamese sandwich, it is almost impossible to find one made in the local area, so when I found it on the menu it was a must try. I ordered the barbecue beef version and it came on the traditional soft bread that is toasted on the outside. The inside had the typical pate and pickled vegetables and thick slices of yummy beef. The sandwich was delicious and outside of finding one in the Bay Area or Los Angeles this one is a great find. This restaurant is a nice find, and I will be back for many more meals. read more

My husband and I ordered Pho. When I bit into the meat, it felt like i was chewing on a piece of a rubber tire. It left a bad taste in my mouth. My husbands was a little better. My husband and I have been coming here religiously for almost two years now. I cannot tell you how delicate and delicious the broth is alone. I normally get grilled BBQ pork plate, piled generously high served with rice (if you want it), i get extra veggies which are pickled carrot and daikon and a sweet fish sauce. My husband gets the Brisket pho and loves it, we also get the gyoza which are fried and deviously addicting. And to top the whole meal off we get two of their Thai iced teas with boba... extra half and half.. its so good I will add pictures the next time i go in and take some! Went in on a weekday evening around 6. Not too busy. Service was real friendly and efficient. Clean and Pleasant. I the vermicelli with bbq pork. Good stuff but not as flavorful as tu lan in SF. The finely chopped lettuce was different... My buddy had the large beef pho (huge portion) and very tasty. I would have to give the edge to the other Pho place here in town. Sorry...pho was only OK and service was awful. I had the meatball pho and the meat was tough and more like sausage. While we were seated and it seemed like a full-service place, it really wasn't. There were traditional pho sides and the broth was good, thus the 2 stars. read more
