Chipotle style, Mediterranean food- Yum! I honestly wasn't sure what to think when I was in line, but I was thoroughly surprised at how much I enjoyed it. I honestly think it was the sauce that really made it great. Chipotle style means, you go down the service line, picking out the items you want, and you food is ready after you pay. Love it. You start off picking if you want a shawarma, rice bowl or salad bowl, then you get the meat etc. I wanted to try the salad bowl, but added a scoop of their saffron rice, I had eggplant and cabbage, beef, tomatoes, and topped it off with the garlic and tatzaki sauce. After mixing it all together, I loved how it tasted. I also got a side of their bread for $2.00 (?), and I thought it was pretty good. I had to wait a little for the bread, but it was very hot when I got it, so it was worth the short wait. Fortunately, they now have a location in Mountain View and one very soon in Sunnyvale! By far, the worst food consumed for year 2022. The beef sharwama didn't have any seasoning and was powdery & dry tasting. I ordered a bowl with beef sharwama & falafel that I only had 5 bites. It was soggy, the falafel was no where to be found and the bowl was laced with this mushy, pink looking thing that looked like crushed up watermelon, but wasn't. It was disgusting to look at and even worse to consume. The only saving grace was the eggplant I added to the bowl. My family also ordered other items that weren't palatable. $55 hard earned money that we've wasted. Definitely not going back, not even if you pay me to dine there! First time here at SAJJ Mediterranean! The food was delicious and fresh! Ordered the falafel bowl with tumeric rice. Also added the cauliflower side, and cabbage with hummus! Also came with a bowl of soup ! Really good and fresh, I usually go to dish n dash, but this place is WAY better! My stomach felt very good after - didn't feel like the food was oily or greasy. Got here for the first time for lunch with my husband. I got the pomegranate chicken salad he got the rice bowl. Both came with a very good soup, and we got the pita chips on the side. Sajj is conveniently located near Safeway, Walmart, Trader Joe's. Also, they have an app, so you can definitely save some money from your order especially if you're a first time customer. I do think that ordering in store is better (despite the wait) as some of the things available in store wasn't on the app (cilantro dressing, spicy dressing, one of the grains). The portion size is humongous - usually we never really have leftovers, but for Sajj, we actually weren't able to finish all our food (in part because they also give free lentil soup with each bowl, and we also did the Yelp check-in for fried pita chips that came with a side of hummus). I like that they let you order as many toppings as you want. So many toppings that I can't remember which one I enjoyed the most, or could even tell apart, since they all kind of blended in the bowl for me. My only gripe was that they put too much sauce in there (not actually sauce even, but the hummus and tzaziki were so flavorful and too much that it overpowered the whole bowl). When we arrived we saw it was dried out steam-table food assembled Chipotle style and served in paper and plastic. We left. This is my favorite casual restaurant. They have delicious healthy food. The staff is super nice. William is the best! This is a review of the experience (not the food). We lined up, ordered our bowls. The bowls of warm food with cold toppings sat on the counter, whilst he continued to served people. A backlog of food was sat on the counter because the guy at the check out was still busy. They had run out of pita bread and were refusing to give an alternative bread to the guy who was asking. There was a lot of confusion. We were still stood there - maybe ten minutes or more? In the end, we gave up and left. Our warm food was cold and the cold toppings were warm by this point.
