Sorry, I don't have any food pictures for this restaurant...we ate the food so fast and I forgot to take food pictures. The restaurant is in a shopping center, next to other stores and restaurants. It's located in a busy area. The food was absolutely amazing! I felt a bit cheated at first because we placed the order via Yelp and it was a pretty hefty price for our to-go order and when we arrived I saw the banner above the restaurant for 2 house rolls for $9.99 (online orders rarely have specials or happy hours added in). My disappointment quickly evaporated when I tasted the sushi, tempura, and other dishes. It was amazing! We usually order avocado rolls but we've never tasted anything like the ones here. There was so much avocado in the roll and everything was perfect. The taste was so fresh, everything was perfect. We definitely plan to return when in the area. I used to love this place but after what happened today not no more. I had placed an order online and they did not confirm it. I assumed it was an internet issue so I placed the order again. Once again my order was not manually confirmed by them. I checked my bank account and noticed I was charged twice $50. I went in to ask if I would get refunded for my order and they straight up told me no. I was like wth I didn't even receive any food you guys are the ones who didn't confirm on my order on time. I DoorDash quite frequently from this establishment since i live up the street. We also eat there in person frequently as well. Typically its a great experience. Recently on doordash... i have had nothing but issues. Incorrect items.. and poorly packaged food. Today my order of udon soup, rice, sushi roll and iced tea came packed together absolutely waterlogged. Udon soup drenched the sushi and the rice and the cold drink and piping hot soup made eachother lukewarm. Lunch is ruined. I reached out and got zero customer service. None. And the Bento box is delicious also. The location also has a large decorative container full of their own special and delicious ginger. I know they have a strong take clientele. This is my favorite conventional sushi place. I love this place. Their appetizers are also ayce and pretty yummy, especially the shrimp boat. Their nigiri is some of the best in the area. Their selection of rolls is smaller then many of the locals but the taste is excellent and they don't throw a bunch of imitation crab as filler or drown the rolls in sauce to hide flavors. It's what you'd expect from a better quality ayce sush place. I ordered to go to help support them during these difficult times with the shelter in place order. I really hate to update my review but their service and online ordering service is so bad. Why would they "turn off" their online orders but customers still are able to make these orders through the app? Nearly a 40 minute wait for 2 basic rolls. This is literally insane. Terrible service, clueless staff, no communication, I have seen several other people pick up their orders that they made through DoorDash, I made mine through the Yelp app and it apparently goes through grub hub. This is beyond frustrating what was the point of online ordering and waiting already 20 min from ordering to now this has been an hour since I ordered my food. No compensation, no refund offered. You get options to pick from variety of options and I have tendency to pick either udon or ramyun and choice of house roll. Lunch special range from 8.99 to 14.99 (sashimi platter). This is both AYCE and regular sushi place. Located inside Aldi Supermarket plaza next to CVS. They have beer specials as well. Hite can beer is $0.99. I've tried their spicy yellowtail roll, spicy tuna roll and yellowtail tempura roll and its more than enough when paired with noodles. My friend usually gets the lunch bento box which I think is a good deal too and they give you options to pick which protein comes with it. They give you complimentary edamame when you walk in and they also have low sodium soy sauce if you ask for them. Ambience of the place is interesting they have traditional wall paintings along with decorations all along the bar. They also do grubhub delivery and the workers are very friendly as well. My husband and I was craving sushi so we decided to try this place. I wanna start off by saying it was super clean, spacious and the tables were nicely spaced out. The restaurant vibe was very pleasant. We were helped right away and the waitress told us about a special, if you buy 3 rolls from the specialty section you get one free roll from the bottom section. So we got Golden tiger roll, black dragon roll, and the dinosaur roll, the free one was the shrimp tempura roll. The black dragon roll was okay, I feel like it wasn't as flavorful as other places but it wasn't bad at all. The golden tiger roll was really good, the dinosaur roll was deliciousssssssss, and the shrimp tempura roll was good too! The spicy edamame was good and actually a little spicy, the mussels were good but I didn't like the sriracha on top. This place sucks. Me and my girlfriend on a Friday night wanted late night miso soup. We had gotten there around 11 pm (an hour before close) where we walked in and were immediately cut off by a cart that was blocking the whole restaurant so we were confined to a small 2x2 square waiting for someone to meet us. Eventually a young lady (Stephanie) walked up to us in the other side of the cart and starred at us not even offering hello or welcome. We then asked "are you guys still open?" To then she looked at us looked at the registered logged in and said oh yeah we are open. Then we asked is it okay if we do a take out (since the rest of the restaurant was closed off we assumed that we weren't able to enter and have a sit down dinner). The whole time as this conversation is happening the sushi chef was mumbling under his breathe and sighing showing it was obvious we were not welcomed. After 10 minutes our meal was done and Stephanie threw the order on the cart that was blocking us from the restaurant and walked away, Not even mentioning that our food was done. Me and my gf then stood up and walked to the cart (which was only 2 feet away) and asked is that ours to which she said yeah that's your order and walked away. I am excited I found a gem that is so close to home. I got two spicy tuna hand rolls and was so pleased with them. We also tried two other rolls and appetizers (jalapeño poppers and shrimp tempura). All of it was so yummy. We also got two bottles of peach sake which I definitely recommend and need to try the strawberry flavor next. i enjoyed the sushi and I loved the udon. The teriyaki chicken tasted like cheap meat. The chicken karage tasted like wet dog and the veggie tempura and gyoza were both room temperature and not crunchy. The mussels had a nice spicy kick to it which I did not expect but I welcomed. The hand roll had lots of fish which was great. Fish to rice ratio was great. Something that bugged me a little was that the waitresses were all pretty grumpy. We would smile and say thank you when they helped us but they would just leave or glare. Felt intimidating haha. Only 1 waitress smiled back (there were 3 at the time) the others were just bitter looking so I felt dumb for being nice lol. The part that ended up just killing everything though was going to the bathroom and seeing a worker come in hacking and coughing and brushing their teeth (there was only one sink) and I had cleared my throat to let them know I was in there but they only started doing it louder and grosser and ugh yeah going back to eat just felt like i was eating their snot as well as having to wash my hands after that disgust. COVID SAFETY: We order take-out as there was no dine in option. The restaurant was small and everything was blocked off so it was safe. The food was ready within 15 minutes and all the workers were wearing a mask. FOOD: Sushi was really good and everything tasted fresh. It is a little on the pricier side as each roll were about $16. Their portions were also pretty decent. Each roll came with about 8 pieces. RECOMMENDATION: I would definitely recommend this place for those who are in the Upland area.
