This place is a hit or miss. Sometimes the rolls can be good but 8 times out of 10 the fish is not fresh. We order food from here because of convenience but no more. I ordered take-out and they got the order wrong. I called to check and she insisted that I am wrong. Wouldn't most decent restaurants start by apologizing? Not insisting that we were wrong? I know for a fact what I ordered was correct because I wrote down what I wanted before reciting it to her over the phone. In any case, we will never be back to this place again. This place has some of the best service Ive ever had at a Japanese restaurant. All the employees were super friendly and efficient. The food was really great as well! I'm honestly shocked this place has such high reviews. The sushi pieces are poor quality. The albacore we had was not good and the attempt to cover up the quality with onions and pepper did not work. The amber jack was still FROZEN, I regret not sending it back. For the price I would think these cuts would be higher quality but are even worse than the cheaper sushi places I go to. It was basically a layer of rice in a box mold topped with minced tuna topped with more rice and then more tuna and avocado. If you like rice then this is for you. My daughter and I decided to meet for lunch and Sakuraya Sushi was in a convenient location for us. We could not believe how fantastic the quality of everything was, especially the food and the service. My poke bowl was the best thing I have ever tasted! My husband and I came for lunch right when it opened. They honored the BOGO 50% off for lunch on all rolls including the specialty rolls and the new rolls. The chef did a great job. Fish tasted fresh and there wasn't a lot of rice (which is good in my opinion). It came with salad and miso soup. The restaurant has a pretty chill atmosphere. Music isn't loud, it's not dark inside. They have a big sushi bar area if you want to sit there. The bathrooms are really nice and clean. The restaurant is good-sized and you can have a pretty big party come in. Parking isn't hard to find even though it's in a little shopping plaza. I think a lot of the places in the plaza are quick in and out places so people don't park their cars for too long. read more
