We were sad to see Ten Mercer go, but couldn't be more pleased with this addition to the neighborhood. Each of the entrees we ordered (the Mole and the Enchiladas Michoacan) were delicious, and being from the southwest we have high standards for Mexican food. This place is the the real deal and focuses on authentic regional dishes. They have an extensive margarita list as well and we greatly enjoyed the ones we ordered. The service was fast and attentive. The price was reasonable ($70 for two including drinks, entrees, and dessert). The only feedback I'd give is the salsas, while presented nicely, we did not find very memorable. read more

We came in on 3/12 for a few drinks during a bachelorette party and the server refused to serve us because he thought the bride was drunk. However, she is deaf and could not understand him, she was trying to read his lips but he was talking in the opposite direction making this impossible. She kept saying "huh, what?" due to not being able to understand him, so he automatically assumed she was drunk because she couldn't understand/hear him. So he refused to serve us because he thought we were drunk when we had not been drinking yet. We were completely disrespected and discriminated against, I will make sure to let every person know (especially hearing impaired people) to avoid this establishment. I explained to the server that she was not drunk but deaf and he said that he wasn't planning on serving me alcohol either. However, he had already taken the entire tables drink orders (mine included), but then refused the bride. The moment I said he was discriminating against my friend he changed his story to he wouldn't serve the table. Shady establishment. I understand refusing service to highly intoxicated people, but this legitimately was not the case. Avoid this place. read more

Although surrounded by many good nearby restaurant options I felt I chose the best one of all. The food here was outstandingly delicious and surpassed our expectations. I had a kiwi margarita that was perfectly strong, not too sweet though. The meal started w an complimentary chicken salad on a hard open shell rather than the typical chips and salsa. Before I get into the food let's dive into the service. The service was great, I mean really great. My wife requested that she didn't want any dairy on her main course, and when they brought out the appetizer they made note to not have dairy on her specific plate for that either, even though we didn't request it. It was thoughtful. They also were quick to take our order, refill drinks, bring the food, and get us in and out in time to meet our Uber. The food was pretty good. I was there with my wife, a friend, and the friend's daughter. Because the downstairs is no-minors and the friend's daughter is under-age, we were seated upstairs. Our server was prompt, attentive, and seemed aware that we had some indecisive people in our party. We got a plate of tortilla chips with toppings, nachos more or less, to munch on while we examined the menu. The cocktails were too expensive for the adults (particularly since we had passes to the SIFF Lounge if we really wanted a drink), so we passed on that. We received a large flask of water for our water glasses instead, but with four of us we drank it all pretty quickly. A busser (or maybe the hostess) was in charge of water refills and not as attentive as our server, and had to wait for a while each time we finished off our water. I ordered the veggie enchiladas, which were about $13 for a medium-sized portion. Some restaurants serve sour cream with enchiladas, which I don't like, so I asked for no sour cream; they either got that right or don't include it anyway. The enchiladas were delicious. My wife said that her pork quesadillas were tasty, but the portion size was really small for $9. They may have been meant as appetizers, but that wasn't clear from the menu. Our guest has celiac, which means she goes to the hospital if there's more than a microscopic trace of wheat in her food. (It's not just an ordinary gluten intolerance, let alone the silly anti-gluten diet fad.) We had to ask the server pretty carefully about whether her chicken quesadilla would be completely without wheat. He had to check back about that, and said she would be safe. It's a day later and she hasn't been to the emergency room, so the server and kitchen got it right. It would have been nice if that communication had been easier though. Our guest's daughter seemed happy with her street tacos ($12). I don't count the wheat question against the restaurant; the place is new and celiac is an uncommon condition (about 1%). But after we finished off our first water so quickly the water person probably should have been more attentive, or just left several flasks of water on our table. And those quesadillas were pretty small. But in spite of the service flaws, my enchiladas were so good that I had a 4-star "yay I'm a fan" experience. read more

Great service and we were seated almost immediate upstairs! Our waiter was sweet and polite. Our free hors d'oeuvre (round chip topped with shredded chicken) was delicious. My drink "Mexican Burro" was deliciously potent! Gotta love hat mezcal+cactus juice version of Moscow mule! We ordered just a plate of nacho (with beef) cuz we were rushing to make the Seattle Storm game, but man that dish was to die for! Would rec'd this spot to everyone! We had a very good lunch here. The service was prompt, friendly and professional, and the food was well-prepared and tasty. We ordered chips with three salsas and split an order of the mole chicken from the dinner menu. I would definitely return to this restaurant when on Queen Anne. First time visit today for a late midday lunch and happen to hit happy hour at 3:30pm which graciously goes from 3-6pm. Happy hour plates were perfect sized portions for a late lunch and sharing. Grabbed a few tasty treats to share ($6-8). They have 2 IPA's on tap one being a favorite, 12oz Space Dust (8.2%) for $4. Surprised me for type of restaurant. It would be a nice after work meeting spot for HH and avoid Mercer mess or date location. Huge space upstairs for privacy or two top at front window whatever your pleasure. It's really not Tex-Mex but a upscale traditional regional Mexican menu of regional picks. Dinner entrees were (~$16-22), they provide a small tostado instead of chips and salsa immediately as you sit to get rid of any post work hypoglycemia. Warm comfortable environment. Nice and attentive staff, full dark wood bar with ~8 seats if alone. Well thought out and designed. You can hear the person your talking too/with unlike their neighbor Pesos. Don't get me wrong Pesos has some good chips and salsa and a couple dishes I really like. But the loud acoustics and the 20 something bar scene is too much and will avoid if passed 8:00 pm. I tried HH and now will go back for dinner and see what that is like. Only con: Complete the men's bathroom and replace the plumbing for the sinks. It becomes a Lake after one use. read more

Beware -- food poisoning! I live in the neighborhood but hadn't been here in years. Some friends and I went recently for happy hour. We all shared the guacamole, chips and salsa and margaritas (I had the Bartender's Special). Two of my friends shared the chicken quesadilla and I got the pork tacos. I finished the tacos and was working on my second drink when I had to rush to the bathroom. I proceeded to have some pretty violent vomiting through the night and morning. The staff may not have been aware of what happened but I stopped in about a week later (walking past from the grocery) to tell them thinking they'd want to know to determine what may have happened (bad meat, sick employee?). I left my contact info for the manager but was never contacted. Very disappointing to realize they have such little regard for their customers. Came for happy hour on a Friday. They serve hh from 3-6pm. Sat at the bar, but they have seating upstairs and downstairs with tall ceilings. I got their ultimate margarita, which came with the drink shaker ($9). They gave us complimentary chips with mole sauce on them and we got a chicken quesadilla and ceviche both $7 bucks on hh. Horrible experience with this restaurant and bad quality food. Ordered sopitos from Uber eats and never again! The sopitos hardly had any toppings very stingy of them and the meat was not well cooked. Never again definitely don't recommend this place. If you read other reviews you can see they're very stingy with their food portions and they don't even give you salsa as complementary like other Mexican restaurants. read more

I live in LQA and decided to try it right after they opened, my first plate was the green ceviche and a beer for happy hour. After talking to the bartender and the manager, I decided to try the sangria, then a margarita... well, you know the deal. Long story short, I have been coming back at least once a week since then. Their Chile's rellenos and the milanesa torta were my other go to. I think I have tried everything ( they even have chicharrón prensado!) and can't tell you which is my favorite plate. I also happen to go because there is a spanish conversation meetup happening there every Wednesday. AMAZING. This restaurant is run by the same family that opened Capitol Hill's beloved Fogon! Queen Anne was in desperate need of authentic Mexican food, and I hope it isn't run out by critics used to overly Americanized food! My girlfriend and I come for happy hour when we can, we've tried the pozole verde, queso fundido, flautas, ceviche, salsas and street tacos! The pozole is our favorite!
