I give nothing but positive reviews for Salata's and I hope for one in Fl. This location seemed different as it had one bowl and I asked for a large. I even asked twice if it was a large. The dressing I got was Ranch and it was definitely watered down, it even laid on the lettuce in puddles and even tasted watered down not full ranch. Why Why Why water down and cut the dressing?!?!?! Portions was extremely small that was given (chicken/Shrimp)What a shame . I always eat at Salata's while in Texas . I will go to another location tomorrow as this one I couldn't eat for the watered down salad I got it to go. I was here Monday evening at 6:20-6:30pm. What a Shame. While the food at Salata doesn't disappoint, I advise against using them (or at least this particular location) for a catering service. We provide meals for majority of our in house meetings at my company and today we booked Salata. Our order showed up nearly 30 minutes late when you are already given a 30 minute delivery window. This particular order was made almost a week in advance, was only to serve 10 people, and our office is less than 2 miles from the restaurant. This is not the first time that this has happened with this location, in fact it's not even the first time that this has happened this month! Our previous order on 9/16 was also delivered late. As stated, the food is always good. So IF we decide to continue using Salata for our corporate meals, it would have to be with the understanding to request delivery at minimum 75 minutes before expected lunch time to accommodate for their tardiness. read more

They have pretty much everything you could imagine: Greens - romaine, spinach, kale, mixed greens Toppings - beets, radish, asparagus, bamboo shoots, olives, beans, corn, jicama, apples, strawberries, blue cheese crumbles, feta cheese, and the list goes on Dressings - about 8 - herb vinaigrette, balsamic, mango, sun-dried roasted tomato, and some good ole oil and vinegar if it is to much for you Meats - seafood mixture, salmon, herb-pesto chicken, spicy buffalo chicken, tofu, and more Equally important was if you didn't know, you could try everything. I found this place via YELP when thinking of a place for myself and coworkers to come for lunch. The service was really quick and fresh but felt I got snapped on by the ladies behind the counter because I wasn't choosing my options fast enough. It's the only reason why I don't give this a 5 Star. I thought my meal was really tasty and had a large amount of options from the kind of lettuce, toppings, and even dressings. I had the spicy ranch which I enjoyed very much. My salad was about $12 which I felt was reasonable for the amount I received. I left full and content so this would be a great place for future lunches with coworkers or something healthy and on the go! read more

Ordered through Foodsby and thought I would give it a try! Saw reviews about how stingy this location is. Overall, amount of kale and salad greens was generous. Because they mixed the salad for me, it was hard to see portions of other items, but it was on the skimpy side - about 4 small pieces of tomato, a light dusting of cheese, more cucumber than less, but overall it was heavily skewed on kale. Kale, kale, everywhere! Chipotle ranch is no joke - mouth is feeling the heat. Not bad, just be aware. Solid choice overall. Not blown away, not disappointed. There are plenty of salad places these days, so it won't be first on my list, but likely to get my business a couple times a month for lunch. read more

This is absolutely one of my favorite restaurants in the Plano/Frisco area. I love going here for lunch, but I have to make sure I get there by 11:30 before the lunch rush. There are SO MANY options on the salad bar. I usually go with the salad, with the salata mix, but on this most recent trip I realized they have a few new items at the bar, including KALE!! (insert happy dance). Once you pick your greens, and million toppings (there's no limit to how many toppings you can choose, it's my favorite thing about this place), you pick your protein, and then your dressing. I usually go with the pesto chicken. Sidenote-I usually am not a fan of cold chicken, there's just something about it, but I love the pesto chicken here. Oh, since I don't like too much protein, I always ask for just one scoop of chicken, and they actually charge $1 less for this...just an added bonus. My dressing of choice is always the fresh herb vinagrette, and I usually top it off with pita chips and pepperoncinis. Mmmm just writing this review is making me want to run out and grab a salad right now (I'm sure those of you reading this feel the same, right?) There are of course other options aside from the salad bowl. You can get wraps, and soup as well. Also, for an extra $1, you can add avocado to any of your entrees. The price is very decent, in my opinion, considering how much salad you actually get. Can't beat it for $9, and everything tastes so fresh. The service is quick, and friendly. Oh, quick tip...if you're taking the salad to go, make sure you get the dressing on the side, and pita chips in a bag as well. If you have been to Leaf in Austin, you will find Plano's Salata quite similar. The biggest difference is that Salata doesn't even have any predetermined salads. Nothing created by a chef or employee or named after a neighborhood street. In fact, here's a marketing idea: they should have a contest with their ingredients and name the best one after the winner! Wow, did I just give them that tip for free? Anyway, this place definitely has fresh ingredients and quality products. You can choose to get a salad or a wrap, and they also have soup. Your salad or wrap gets any topping you'd like for $8 (meat is extra $ as is avocado). First choose your lettuce mix, then add toppings. Workers do it in assembly line fashion but this really is not different from any salad bar concept (except no strangers breathing/sneezing on the food). It's not a cheap lunch but I wasn't blown away by it. Leaf in Austin is definitely better. It just seems like if Salata can't even make one recommendation on what people can combine on a salad that I might as well go to Whole Foods or Ruby Tuesday and not feel cheated. Every one gets toasted bread. The staff was moderately friendly. Rushed, not incredibly helpful or patient. Interestingly, a sign on the front door says if you show your gym membership card that you get $1 off. Wonder if anyone does that. read more

I've been to this Salata on multiple occasions and after months of promising myself that after my last mouthful I would write a review I'm finally going to do it. My main reason for doing so is the following; THEY ARE SO STINGY WITH THEIR PORTIONS The margins they make on these salads given they are around 10 bucks a pop must be massive so to persist in being so tight with portions of veg and dressing is simply inexcusable and demonstrates a total lack of consideration for ensuring their dining patrons emerge from their luncheon experience fully replete. Be on the look out for two things, both of which drive me to a near breakdown whenever I frequent the premises; - a hand grab towards your selected veg that starts out promising with an open palm and fingers well spread but descends quickly into a thumb and forefinger carefully plucking out a single mushroom slice. - a ladle that's buried deep below the line of your selected dressing and lavishly stirred around before a full ladle's worth is lifted up from the dressing pool to the heavens, only then for your server to pour half of it back into the pot and leave your salad leaves protruding from your salad bowl near-completely dry. Should you request more dressing of course, you will be charged. I've given it two stars and not one as the food here does have a lot of potential, the staff just need to realise that we aren't living in 1940's war torn Europe and that rationing is not currently in place. This place is a salad lover/healthy eaters dream! It's that kind of place that is so simple, yet so fabulous you'll be kicking yourself for not coming up with the idea on your own. Basically you have two options - a salad or a wrap. Either way you'll make your way down the line a select from a dizzying array of fresh toppings to make your own custom blend. There's everything from veggies to berries to nuts and you can select as many (or as few) as you like. If you're not sure which type of dressing you'll like, they're more than happy to provide a sample - I highly recommend the sundried tomato option! Towards the end of the line are your protein options which include salmon, chicken, and shrimp (there is an additional cost if you want more than 1 choice). A piece of bread is included with each salad and soup is available as well. Canned and bottled beverages are offered instead of a fountain which is a bit of a bummer but what can you do. Yes prices are a little on the high end but the salads are huge and the ingredients are fresh - I always leave with a to go box. The seating area is a little on the smaller side and it tends to be a bit packed during prime lunch hours with people "stalking tables" so be sure to plan accordingly! So we try again ... I got a large salad and asked for extra lettuce (if you see my ingredients you'll see why I ask) the lady says this is standard size ... I said yes I understand I would like extra she said no. (Like just flat out no) umm ok? So I get to the end and figure now that she saw I didn't get much she would give me more so I asked for extra lettuce in place of the bread or chips. Again, I got a NO. I asked what if I pay a dollar? She says it will be $2. Lol okay ... Then I asked for the avocado - she picks up 1 of the 2 drops it and picks up the other one (it's old, brown, and had mold spots) ... I said I'd like the other one please that one has mold - this really pissed her off. As we go to sit down we hear them talking about us - really Salata ladies? Get a grip ... It's a salad bar folks ... shocker. $8 for a no meat salad, $10 with. I went the no meat route and was fine. The operation ran smoothly. All the selection tasted fresh and there was a wide variety. Some wraps & soups there as well. My only tip is they will cut a fresh avocado for your salad but they only have it at the end of the line after the dressing is already on, bread is toasted and you are about to pay. So wait for it. I love a good salad/wrap, and this place definitely meets my qualifications. I'm not sure if the staff got a talking to about customer service, but this past visit the staff didn't seem so lifeless. They actually talked to me, and we're pretty pleasant! And I've never experienced them being stingy with the toppings, my wrap was stuffed. To my surprise the chips here actually taste quite good despite their subpar appearance. The ranch was a little too watery for my liking, and the girl put way too much on my wrap, but that's my only complaint.. Oh and this place could also use a contemporary/modern makeover. My belief about this joint is that if you don't know your palate, you will not like this place. You get to create your own salad concoction from a list of about 40 ingredients with a wrap option. The reason I stress the importance of knowing your palate is because if you don't know what certain fresh herbs or ingredients truly taste like then you may be stuck with a $10 crap salad (before beverage) that you just created (this happened to 2 of my friends). I typically love Salata, but this one always just leaves me a bit unhappy. There's always something that just isn't right, well a small list of somethings, actually. Today one of the guy workers was scolded lightly by giving me too much lettuce in my bowl, and it was just barely half full. She did the rest of my salad, but with such a bored and annoyed attitude that it just made me uncomfortable and rushed. If I asked any questions or took even one second to think about what selections to get, shed get visibly anoyed and sometimes even roll her eyes. She just made me want to rush and get outta there. At the end of the line, she pulled out and haned me three thin tiny flimsy napkins from the napkin holder. There weren't any other napkins out. These were a tad smaller than a Kleenex so weren't good for much. I'm a sloppy eater. I love to get tons of napkins, and usually none go to waste. Unfortunately, Amada stood between me and the tiny napkins, so I had to try to keep it clean today. There isn't a drink fountain, buthere is iced tea. So unless you want iced tea, plan on paying for 2 or 3 cokes if you want soda. If you come, just plan for iced tea and try to get a guy to help you. They've been nice both times I've come. Otherwise, if you are nearby the Northwest Highway location, pick that one instead. read more

The first I ate here it was picked up and ate at the office with some coworkers. I love salads and the food was good but my coworker had a hair in his food. The next time I go and eat inside. Once again the food is good. I think the price is fair for that size of a salad. This time a person that I did not know at another table had a piece of hair in her food. I've been on a lunch salad kick for the last few weeks and have quickly ran out of places that I haven't been to a million times over. So, I decided to try Salata today and test my ability to make a yummy salad. I went with the mixed greens, eggs, cucumbers, tomato, onions, chick peas, mushrooms, bell peppers, cilantro, avocado, pesto chicken, bow tie pasta, Chipotle Ranch, and pesto bread! In the past my "create your own" experience has pretty much sucked, but that's because I always made them so healthy that it was simply to boring to eat. That all changed today. It was a success! Absolutely delicious!! I would love to say that I will make this a permanent salad spot, but it did cost me 11 dollars. This place has a great fresh varied selection for salads; there is something for everyone. Unfortunately though, my server didn't seem to know what was gluten free or vegan. Most of the gluten free items are marked, as are the vegetarian options, but I mistakenly thought that the vegetarian items were vegan since there were no signs explaining what the symbols meant. Be aware that all the soups contain milk, and some of the vegan options like the tofu and falafel contain wheat. You can find all of their nutritional information, including what items are vegan (not just vegetarian) on their website. You walk the aisle, tell the person attending to you all that you need in a salad, add a dressing (herb vinaigrette or ginger lime), add meat (skip if vegetarian), choose a bread, pay at the cashier and enjoy your salad. You can do either a salad or a wrap, in which case, the amount of ingredients is slightly less...but I prefer to have the salad. Quantity is good as i can make two meals out of it. Sometimes service is slow at this location, often times the people working there are chatting away even if people are standing in line to order. Reason for the visit? Groupon! Oh, how easily I succumb to a good deal. Anyways, the place is kind of tucked away behind a BoA and Dunkin Donuts, so I was irritated just trying to find this place. However, I was pleasantly surprised once I walked in. The place is super clean and organized, and I do appreciate the low walls that separate the dining area from the front door and windows. Sometimes you just don't want people staring at you while you eat! They have a great variety of salad toppings that look fresh, and they also have soups (tomato basil, broccoli cheddar, and tortilla) that come with bread. The biggest downside is the price. I love salads, but I am most definitely not willing to pay $8 for a salad and add an optional $2 for chicken or $3 for seafood (salmon, shrimp, etc). Like said before, Groupon saved me here! We got two meatless salads and made it into a combo with broccoli soup for 2 or 3 dollars more, depending on cup or bowl. You get a slice of bread with your soup, so I chose their pesto bread. I love pesto so, so very much. I loved the fact that I could taste their salad dressings! I opted for the sun-dried tomato vinaigrette. Yum! Overall, it cost around $21 for two salads with no meat and a bowl and a cup of soup. This place seems really great and I love the idea, but at these prices, I just can't afford to continually dine at some place like this. I've never paid this much to be treated like dirt! I'm an outgoing person who always smiles. Not today. It's true that the employees count every vegetable that they put in your salad. That was okay with me because the ingredients looked fresh and there were lots of choices. What wasn't okay was the rudeness of the staff. The woman who wasn't even the one preparing the salad, barked at me because I wanted more salad dressing. I agreed to pay. 50 cents for one more scoop of dressing. Then it happened, I presented my Groupon on my Motorola Atrix and she accused me of having a false Groupon and would not accept it. So, after paying 6.00 for the 10.00 Groupon, I was charged another 10.00 on my bank card. I explained to her that the Groupon was only good until 7:30pm today. I even backpaged the scrren so she could read the terms of use on the Groupon. She told me to mark the Groupon as use after I paid her on my card. Conveniently, there was no manager on shift. Salata should realize that they have a binding contract with Groupon and dishonoring Groupon deals could be costly for them in the very near future. read more
