I have tried many very skilled hairstylists over the years to help me with my very thick, odd hair and not one can even compare to what she does - and does efficiently, with grace and makes it fun! This salon came up on my search for hair extensions, I used their survey online to see if it could be a fit for me and I was scheduled a free consult with Genevieve, who then set up me up for my first install appointment just last Saturday. She is such a sweetheart! Professional, knowledgeable, and skilled, exactly what you want in a stylist. She let me know what to consider with choosing my type of extensions and also let me know the care and cost involved. She was very transparent about the investment, but was confident that with the quality of extensions that she sources that they can last a full year. During the appointment, she seamlessly blended my hair with a LOT of extensions, and gave me some beautiful highlights for the summer. She also does amazing scalp massages which I feel like a lot of stylists skimp on but it's secretly one of my favorite parts of going to a salon lol. I'm still kind of in disbelief as I have never had such long beautiful hair in my life. The hair extensions she sources are definitely the highest quality I've ever seen and felt, as the hair actually covers the tape weft and it barely tangles at all which shocks me. The only downside is the parking! Definitely take some time to show up a little early to find street parking, as part of the block is eaten up by construction. I've been growing my hair out for the past 1.5 years for my wedding and when I finally was able to cut it, Covid happened. So after couple more months went by, I finally felt safe enough to get my haircut and found Salon 1322. Booking the appointment was super easy and I loved that they have you fill out what you are looking for so they can find a person who specializes in it. Going into the appointment I felt super safe since everyone was wearing a mask, they check your temperature at the door, and they limit the amount of people going in. Everything was very clean, and I felt like I was a safe distance from the other people. I had Deb cut my hair and I loved that she was just as excited to cut my hair short as I was. Best haircut and salon experience I've ever gotten! I was on Yelp looking for a new salon to get my haircut. I decided that I wanted to "treat" myself since I only cut my hair every few months, and I'm so glad I came across Salon 1322. I went on their website to make an appointment and I love how detailed their "new clients" document is. My favorite part is that it tells me about each stylists and their strength. I just wanted a hair trim, add some layers, and get curtain bangs. I ended up making an appointment with JAMES V and he's gotten a new client for life now. I don't even write Yelp reviews often, but I must share my experience. He takes time to ask and listens to what you want. I don't have the best hair to work with - I have frizzy/wavy, naturally dry, and dull hair basically, but he worked his magic! He took his time explaining what he's doing with my hair and why he's doing it that way. I'm not a hair stylist nor plan to be, but I definitely learned a lot in an 1.5 hours. Best part was that my hair was done in an hour, but since I was booked for 1.5 hours, he also took time to have fun and style it - truly appreciated that. Most places will just let you walk out the door when they're "done". LOVE my hair! I wasn't sure if I could pull off curtain bangs so I wanted it to be a longer length and he did that! It's the perfect length where it naturally frames my face, and I can even slightly tuck it behind my ears. Love the long layers he gave me and how light I feel now without getting rid of my length. So after letting my highlights grow out and coloring the roots from box dye (last 4 years), I decided to go in and go for a light blond. A good friend who is regular at 1322 recommended this salon to me. I made my first appointment back in mid July. I had no idea what a process it was to "strip" the color and start from scratch to "lift" the color. Now I know it takes time and numerous sessions to get a quality job done. The process to book appointments was very easy to do. I appreciated that Genieve was able to accomodate me last minute for a late morning appointment. Upon check in, I was greeted with a friendly smile and promptly seated. The Salon was very clean, well organized, and had plenty of natural light and space to feel warm and comfortable. She was very efficient and checked in with me on length to ensure she got everything correct. She gave me some great layers throughout my hair and did an especially amazing job on the face framing layers. After a great blow dry and a little product, my hair was perfect! James gave me the best haircut of my LIFE. This was my first time at Salon 1322 and I will definitely be back. The salon is beautiful, everyone was friendly and covid-safe, and my hair has never looked better. After having the same hairstyle for several years, it was definitely time for a change. My a-line cut had grown way out and I did not want that style anymore, but I feared it would be challenging to keep my hair long while also moving away from my old look. James knew exactly what to do. He recommended a keratin treatment to restore moisture back into my hair, gave me a cut that works really beautifully with my hair's natural texture (thick and wavy), blended the front and back seamlessly, and added face framing layers that compliment my face shape. Like everyone else, I haven't had a haircut since before COVID, so my hair was a mess. I have very fine hair and as it grew out past my shoulders this last 18 months, it was stringy and flat and boring. Even before the pandemic I was planning on going very short, but as time went on, I got super paranoid about finding the right person to give me a cute, sassy, short haircut that works for my hair. Salon 1322 happens to be the only place where I've cut my hair since moving from Atlanta three years ago. It was certainly a gamble, because I'm an extremely picky person with my hair. I have thin hair that's always been cut short to try and give the illusion of some fullness. The most wonderful Cherise advised me to cut my hair in a very subtle angled bob and I never looked back. Every four months I would come to update my cut and I was so so pleased. Enter 2020 and it's absolute caca storm. Cherise moved away leaving me without a stylist (TEARS) and then Covid hit one month later. I temporarily lived in Miami with family for six months hiding from the virus, and upon returning I took a blind swing with another lovely stylist (Deb) here at Salon 1322. On a whim I asked her to cut my hair with long layers. I mean, it's 2020 after all and it's time to try new things! She cut my hair beautifully and mentioned it was very non-committal style, as I could do a quick chop back into a bob the next go 'round if I didn't like it. I want to talk about the safety precautions they're taking in this Covid life we're enduring. Your temperature is taken before even entering, and you wait outside until the stylist is fully ready for you. Upon entering, you are wearing a mask, the stylist is wearing a mask, and the robe they put on you is new and disposable. You are at least 10 feet away from other customers and the capacity I believe is at 25%. I felt extremely safe and super happy upon leaving. Brought my 17 yr old here for "home/covid" color correction and a cut. Deb and Genevieve were beyond amazing! The salon is clean, Covid protocols in place are on par with the doctors office! Was there for 2+ hours and saw the cleaning of each surface between each client, complete social distancing and even someone cleaning the bathroom between each person! I love that I can come in with a super vague idea (ex: "I just don't want bangs") and Deb can do her magic! Salon 1322 has always been great about making clients feel welcome. Before COVID-19, I would always help myself to a cookie and some lemon water. That's not an option anymore, but the warmth of the salon still comes through. With COVID-19 restrictions, your temperature is checked at the door. Everyone is spaced out more than the recommended 6 feet and everyone has a mask on. The job was horribly done, the extensions were misplaced and falling out of my hair. I reached out to Genevieve and she kindly agreed to take a look and fix it. It is one of the things that impressed me so much when I first started going here years ago. While the added amenities of tea and cookies have been put away, I still feel like I'm treated as a welcome friend. COVID UPDATE: First off, every stylist and client is wearing a mask, and wearing it properly! In the beginning of COVID when the salon had to close, my stylist made me a care package of color and treatments with video on how to apply so I could get through the stay at home without looking as unfortunate as I felt. All this was done with zero contact.
