I liked both of them so much that I hired them for our wedding. Amy is extremely knowledgeable about hair color, and takes time to explain what works and what wouldn't work for my hair. I've grown to trust her completely. I go to Thuy for lash extensions and touchups. Both are friendly and professional, and I've found that they will make time when I need emergency service (such as a lash touch up right before a trip). Amy was very attentive to my needs! I got a conditioning treatment and a color strip test with the purpose to see if I were eligble to get a balayage sometime in the near future. Previously i had henna done on my hair so it was nice that Amy explained to me why its a good idea for me to just grow out my hair versus get balayage while my hair not being able to handle all the lightening chemicals. I haven't been here yet for a service so I can't really give a review however I find it odd that after I submitted a question about how much it would cost for color for longer hair I received an e-mail asking for my past 2 years of hair of what's been done with my hair and previous pictures. I wrote a rather long email detailing issues I had, what my hair is like now and was before with pictures of my hair with my face hidden and what I would like achieved. Simple. Amy did an amazing job at color correcting a bad home dye job and has been coloring my hair ever since. It is natural looking, pretty and stylish. My cuts have been great, and she has worked with me through multiple weird hair situations (hair loss due to surgery and then again after pregnancy.) I think I originally booked my appointment in June/July timeframe and I was hoping to get in sooner, but I ended up having to wait til August to get my hair done.. and it was totally worth the wait!! My normal salon wasn't available so I requested an appointment for 44th Street Salon. They got back to me the same day letting me know that there was an appintment available for 10am the next day. Day of, Ken texted me letting me know that he was finished early and I could come by whenever. When I came in Ken was great about following social distancing - he took my temperature and asked me to wash my hands. Afterwards, we chatted about what kind of hair I wanted and he got to work. Since I wanted layered, chin length hair, Ken was very meticulous about making sure that my hair was straight and even at the bottom. I asked for my hair to be thinned since I have a lot of it and he made sure to fulfill all my requests. My hair came out looking really nice, and low maintenance as well (just a blowdry after showering). The total came out to be $75 before tip, a bit pricier than what I normally spend, but it was a good haircut. read more

Do NOT go here! I went here on a recommendation to get my hair cut and died. I wanted to do something different as I have never died my hair before. I showed Thuy a picture and in the end, I think she went a little lighter than we discussed, but I was pleased overall upon leaving the salon, and actually texted her to tell her so later. After waiting over a week, I washed my hair. I always use a conditioner that leaves my hair soft. After I got out of the shower, I couldn't even brush out the front. It was breaking and split and tangled and felt like straw. I texted Thuy and let her know about this damage and she recommended me buying some product and told me that this type of damage was normal because when you die your hair you are compromising it. I had told her during our appointment that I had never died my hair, as the expert, you would think she would tell me that this would cause incredible damage if this was a predictable outcome. She never once offered to look at my hair or bring me in to consult on the issue. I went to visit my mom and went to her hair dresser. She told me my hair was horribly over processed and forced me to cut off four more inches, in addition to the many inches I had cut off with Thuy, saying that the hair would just split and continue to break. My family encouraged me to call the salon which I did and requested to speak with a manager. I supposedly spoke with a manager, though I am am not entirely sure if it was one, who said that Thuy could not have done this. Seriously? ZERO customer skills and still not a single apology or a solution. I not only spent a significant amount of money getting my hair fried, I also got to spend money to get my hair fixed somewhere else. Moral of the story, if you want someone to destroy your hair, not take ownership of it, nor have any expert guidance, go to this place. Not much more to say than that! read more

Tia and her stylists are amazing! I have been a client of Tia's for about 8 years and you get what you pay for. Most ladies would agree that when you find the stylist that's meant for you, you will follow her to the ends of the earth and Tia is that for me. She is an excellent colorist and knows her stuff. I brought my mother in from out of town and she is VERY picky and particular(and slightly high maintenance) with her hair. Thuy took her on and was kind, personable, patient and did an amazing job with her, like she had known her forever. I now also get my brows done by Christy as well (one stop shop) who is an artist at what she does. Prices are a bit on the high side but worth every penny! Loyal client forever. read more
