I am super happy and grateful to have known Marina's work. She's amazing. Last year for Christmas I went to a salon to get the Ombre made, and they did a horrible job in my hair. They left it super stained and orange. I desperately went to another salon to get my hair fixed and they told me that because of the seriousness of the damage I had, the best thing was that totally darkened my hair. I specifically asked them to put a color that did not have black or red tones so I would not have future problems when I wanted to light up my hair again. Unfortunately in fact they put a red-based color on me, and since then I've tried with several stylists to see who managed to fix my hair and get to the color I wanted. I went around 5 stylist and always left super sad until I was fortunate to find Marina, on my first visit she completely fix my hair, as if I had never had the problem of spotting and reds. Marina's work actually exceeded my expectations, I'm super happy with what she did with my hair, I feel it is even more beautiful than before I suffered the incident. With all that said, certainty I highly recommend Marina, in my opinion she is the best stylist in the whole world. I had heard that the Colombian stylists were the best, and I proved it with Marina. Janiece has been my hair stylist since 2001 and I've now followed her here to Salon Vive on Memorial. My hair color is naturally very dark with a lot of warmth and I've had a hard time finding a stylist who is able lighten the color up to blond/light ash brown without making it brassy or orange, but Janiece does a fantastic job with all my coloring needs from changing my base color to adding highlights and/or lowlights. She knows exactly what I like and is always evaluating new products and techniques to help me achieve the color I want without jeopardizing the health of my hair, which I greatly appreciate. Janiece also does Great Lengths extensions (which are natural hair extensions of the highest quality) and has done mine many times since 2001, which has enabled me to change my look from short hair to long hair, from bangs to no bangs, and from layers to no-layers, over the years. I continue to follow Janiece wherever she goes because I know that I can trust her to take care of my hair and get everything done right. Kat is phenomenal!! Not only did she really take her time with me, finding out exactly what I wanted and showing me how to take care of my curls, but she gave me a gorgeous cut! It's obvious she really knows what she's doing--especially with curly hair. Going in, my hair didn't feel healthy, but I wasn't sure what it needed. She advised me as to the best treatment to revitalize my hair (I ended up getting the Ouidad treatment), but I never felt pressured to get a certain service or product. I felt like I was getting the royal treatment, even though I was just getting a cut and conditioning--nothing fancy. She's so welcoming and friendly, I felt completely at ease the whole time. The whole salon was great. It's very clean and chic and they offer you drinks as soon as you arrive. And unlike some salons, they didn't overcharge me--I even got 20% off for being a first-time customer (and I didn't even have to ask them about the discount--they just gave it to me)! Nettie has been cutting and styling my hair for almost two years now. In this time, I have followed her and been a loyal customer for two reason: 1. She listens and puts you first. I am a low maintenance gal and always get the same cut. She does a great job of just cleaning up my layers and then fabulously styles my hair. Nothing crazy or wild, but I always feel great coming home when my husband looks at me with those "Wow, look at you!" eyes. 2. She's sweet and talented. A sometimes hard to find combo in the salon world. She truly cares about her profession and her clients. She keeps up with training and the latest trends, but most importantly, she is respectful of your precious time! Salon Vive is one of my top picks ever. My first time going and they were so nice and very welcoming. They treated me with respect and made sure I understood everything down to the "T". Stephanie was my stylist and she was so funny and actually listened to what I had to say. She is so passionate about her job, she absolutely loves what she does. They make you feel very much at home. They have wonderful products and services. It's a very beautiful salon and they know exactly what they are doing. I recommend trying this place out at least one time, I know it's a place you will keep coming back to. First timers get a 20% off and they have very good promotions. Recently moved to Houston and was looking for a new salon. Was able to easily find the salon. Entered to get a warm welcome from Bobby and the crew. They were extremely nice even though I was a bit late due to traffic. Stephanie, my rockstar stylist listened to my hair concerns and placed emphasis on improving condition of my hair instead of upselling. She made hair color recommendations to have my hair color looking consistent and always asked for my opinion to keep me involved in the process - great, attentive stylist. Bobby was wonderful in explaining background, benefits, and his personal experience of using a product recommended upon my ask to help with my hair fall experienced with Houston water. This is the place to go for anyone with curly hair. Viviana is amazing and definitely knows what she's doing. I got the Ouidad cut and love it! From the time I walked in to the time I walked out, I felt super welcome and comfortable. Viviana greeted me with the warmest smile and before we even got started she sat down for a consultation. She explained what a Ouidad cut is, asked me what I wanted and was expecting. Throughout the time of my haircut, she answered questions and explained what she was doing. This is, hands down, the best salon experience I have ever had. I came in rather unhappy with my current haircut & color that I had gotten done at a salon in California, and I left the happiest that I have ever been with my hair. Janiece was my stylist, and she created a perfect custom blend of color for my skin tone (an auburn milk-chocolate brunette), walking me through the entire process. She also advised the best methods for growing out my hair, which I've somewhat unsuccessfully been attempting to do. I've also never had a haircut that I've been 100% happy with until today; Janiece knew exactly how to cut & layer my curly hair & did so beautifully! What a great experience at Salon Vive! Yesterday was my first time there. My hair was in desperate need of attention. Paul and Bobby know what they are doing. Paul completely got what I wanted and he did a great job with my cut and color! Bobby applied a conditioning treatment to my hair that made my hair so shiny and soft. I'm so pleased with my hair that I feel like a new person! I've never been so pleased with a salon before. I also loved the ambiance of salon vive! Very nicely decorated and clean. Marina is absolutely amazing!!!! I highly recommend her for anything and everything! I have been going to her for a year and she is the best hairdresser I've been to (and I've been getting my hair done for many years). She has been doing my Great Lengths Hair extensions and full highlights. She is the absolute best! My extensions are from real hair and I love them. They are so natural looking, people don't even know I have extensions. I had really fine blonde hair and now I actually have gorgeous locks. Based on other reviews posted on Yelp for Salon Vive I decided to visit as a walk-in; so glad I did. I needed a haircut and an color to cover my . gray. I have a regular hair-stylist that I use but because of an illness she wasn't able to get me in. Gordon processed my hair-color just one color nothing fancy and cut my very thick hair. He did a wonderful job. He asked questions about length, layers and why I would want a perm later on. My wavy hair is much more manageable when I have a perm. I walked out feeling great about my hair. The employees at the Salon are very attentive. I attend to go back for future services. read more

Kat Flores is great. Kat has been doing my hair for 2 years now and I just love my curls now. I am in awe of the ouidad hair cut she gives me to tame my curly frizzy crazy hair into beautiful bouncy soft curls. The best part about the ouidad hair cut is how well the hair grows out after the cut. The curls remain perfect and in shape even after 4-5 months after the cut. I am the kind of person who does not like to spend too much time on my hair in the mornings. With this cut, I fix my hair in a jiffy and am out in no time.
