We moved to the area back in August and based on the reviews here, we decided to order from here as our first dinner in our new place and to also feed everyone who helped us move. Everyone enjoyed it. We still order from here about every other weekend. Usually when we find a good place we stick to it because we hate having bad experiences with food. We do try new places here and there, but mostly based on other people's reviews. The roast beef thin crust pizza is very flavorful. We occasionally order an additional small one for the non-picky eaters to enjoy. Their thin crust pizza is very good. Recently we ordered the extra thick version and it did not disappoint! It reminded me of Joseph's Pizza in Glendale Heights-we lived there for 12 yrs and that was our go to place before. I'm glad we found our new pizza place! read more

I recently moved from Arlington Heights to Algonquin. Once we were moved in and unpacked, I knew I had to find a solid pizza place that delivers. After browsing Yelp, I settled on Sal's Pizza Company due to the solid reviews on their pizza. I'm a huge fan of thin crust pizza. If I want deep dish, I get Lou's. I called Sal's to place an order for delivery. The staff was super friendly and took my order quickly. We ordered the Medium Thin Crust with Sausage, Extra Cheese, Spinach, Black Olives, and Easy Sauce. We also ordered an 8-piece Hot Wings. They advised the order would arrive within the hour. After about 45 minutes, their delivery driver arrives with my food. The driver was super friendly and even called prior to arrival, as requested. The food was piping hot like it had just came out of the oven. It was also pretty heavy. Heavy as in LOADED with toppings. I got the pizza upstairs and dug in! It was HUGE! Tons of meaty, gooey cheese and GIANT pieces of fresh sausage. The spinach and black olives were plentiful and super fresh. They certainly aren't afraid to pile on the toppings here! The buffalo wings were large and juicy. Plenty of sauce to coat the wings. Two sides of ranch. The sauce was perfect, flavorful with a kick of heat. Nothing too spicy. A perfect balance. I would definitely order from Sal's again and I plan on making it my destination for thin crust pizza in the Algonquin area! Keep up the great work and keep piling on the ingredients! read more

Sal's is our first choice for pizza. I appreciate that they deliver east of the river and the pizza is always hot. The cost plus delivery plus tip is pretty high, but we can't give up on the steamy hot deliciousness of Sal's pizza! Drivers are always polite and professional, too. read more

I cannot believe I keep forgetting to review this place. My boyfriend and I order from Sal's frequently. So far, it is the best local pizza place we have found. And they deliver to our house... score! I love their stuffed pizza with beef, onion and giardinara. It reminds me of an Italian Beef Sandwich melted into pizza form. We usually order a thin crust pizza as well. We have ordered the Spinach Special and really enjoyed that. They always have great coupon deals like free delivery, free RC two liter or money off. I can't give 5 stars because of price and the flavor is not outstanding. The pizza is a thin crust but I have had it far more cracker thin in the area. The toppings are very plentiful and plenty of sauce and cheese. I got a 16" Special pizza, a 12" pepperoni, and 8 wings. With a $5 coupon it was $48 for dinner; rather steep but it was different and it was very good, but not great. We did get their wings and they are excellent, they are five star wings. If I were to do it again I might just order nothing but wings. read more

We recently tried Sal's pizza with the husband. We unfortunately went to the wrong location initially, and my husband's blood sugar was running low, but the employee at the Elgin (I think?) location was nice enough to not charge us for the Coke we got there. It was a challenging task to find the correct location, and we drove around trying to get to the right location as it was not really something we could find with the GPS. Ultimately we did though. The pizza was a little on the pricey side, however for a small it was quite big and we had plenty of left overs as we were stuffed and couldn't finish the pizza in one sitting. We tried the stuffed which is similar to a deep dish pizza. Cheese was very generous as were the rest of the toppings a well. Very fresh, tasty, and well cooked. They did forget the cheesecake that we were supposed to get with the promo but overall a good experience. Would try again. read more

The best Chicago style pizza around. The cheese is off the charts! Recently tried the stuffed as Nancy's was my favorite in the city and the one out here just wasn't what I remembered. Sal's impressed me once again. We ordered a couple pies, wings and mozzarella sticks last night amongst the mass hysteria of the corona virus which lead to a 1 1/2 hour wait. Food was perfect, everything was exactly how we ordered it and I will admit my order can be quite annoying with the addition toppings. My husband and i love this pizza, it has great flavor and we love the fact that it's a small mom and pops place.

Ok let's do this a little different. My girlfriend and I are born and raised in the city. Elmwood park, Melrose park respectively. That being said, and the reason this review will be different is, we have read all the reviews thus far and are already impressed with what we have seen. We plan on ordering tonight because we determined that we need an actual amazing "Ma -N- Pop" pizza joint out here. We are newer to Crystal Lake, but we love it and we are here for the duration.
