You order from up front. A lively place with lots of people laughing over slightly loud music. It's sort of a To Go place. Mostly a tacos place with slightly full ish bar. Beers and some wine and enough booze to support some variations of aguas. There was also tequila shots going around. Tacos were doubled wrapped and the queso had flavor. One of my favorite places to eat in downtown Dallas is Salsa Limón. The eatery serves authentic Mexican street food including tacos, burritos, bowls, and a variety of house-made salsas. Last Saturday, during a brief visit to the area I popped in for an early dinner. I ordered the Nachos dos Quesos ($9.75), a sea of crispy corn tortilla chips, topped with chorizo, savory black beans, smothered with crema and their signature cheese blend. There is a scoop of fresh made guacamole on the side. I also got a Strawberry Margarita. Salsa Limón's happy hour is Mon-Fri from 2-6 p.m and margaritas are $6.50 instead of $10.50, plus you also get chips and salsa for free. The restaurant was beautiful and had lots of natural light. The food came out quickly as it was not busy. Next time I'm definitely going to go for happy hour and I highly recommend this establishment. read more

Salsa Limón is one of my favorite taco joints within the DFW and I love all the choices of salsa that are available! After finding out that they had a Downtown Dallas location I had to check it out and it did not disappoint! Come early to beat the crowd. 11.55 vs 12.05 makes all the difference. Make sure you get a bit of the refreshing infused water from the dispenser by the salsa. If you like heat, try the Habanero salsa, the bright orange that should be calling to you like a siren on a rock in the middle of the ocean. From the outside looking in it seemed like just another Mexican restaurant to me but when I entered i was greeted by a lively ambiance coupled with good customer service and delicious food. I placed an order through Uber Eats with Salsa Limón, and the experience was extremely disappointing. The restaurant gave my order to the wrong driver. When my assigned driver arrived to pick it up, they were told the food had already been taken. Instead of investigating or taking responsibility for the mistake, the staff accused my driver of stealing the order. I was then told to "call Uber" and that there was nothing they could do. At no point did the restaurant offer to remake the order, verify what happened, or take ownership of the situation. The result was wasted time, no food, and a frustrating experience caused by their internal handling of delivery orders. read more

After a long morning at a convention downtown, a Dallas native in our group wanted to take us to an exemplary local taco shop to complete our Dallas experience. As this is the only taco I have had in Dallas, it is the unopposed best. But for what it is worth coming from a Birmingham native, the Al Pastor taco was the best taco I have ever had, anywhere. The portions were generous, yet I could have eaten twice as much. I especially enjoyed the variety of sauces available, though I was taken aback by the heat of the habanero sauce. If you like HOT things, it is delicious. The cheese dip was yellow american cheese based. I tend to prefer white cheese, but it was delicious nonetheless. The restaurant itself was a little cramped, but it was peak lunch hour and they did a great job turning customers over without it feeling rushed. If you're visiting Dallas, be sure to stop here. I'm staying at a hotel nearby for a conference and found this place within walking distance. They're the best burritos I ever had. Better than the any mexican trucks and bodegas I go to back home in Philly. Got the Pastor burrito.
