We went out tonight like we normally do and it wasn't super busy. They had 3 tables including us, 4 people at the bar, and 1 group outside. We came in and got seated very quickly and our server asked us what we wanted to drink. We usually always get 2 waters one with lemon and one without. Well we waited for over 10 minutes and still no water and no more server. So I went around to try and find out why it was taking so long. When I could not figure it out I asked the bartender if I could speak to the manager. She came over I tried to explain to her that we just wanted some water and to order. She seemed not to care and explained the server was just busy with the people outside. We eventually got a great server whose name is Judith and she was amazing after we got her everything went fine. We come on a weekly basis I hope that the manager and other servers don't make this restaurant go down. Especially since there is some good people inside the restaurant and the food is well portioned for the price. read more

Very good. Stopped in for a quick lunch, glad I found this place. Very colorful and cozy seating. I had the Jose Cuervo chicken lunch. Great for those watching carbs. Plenty of chicken and grilled and fresh veggies. Portion was huge ended up boxing the other half. Salsa and chips were excellent for those of you who aren't watching carbs. My family loves Mexican food, and we were looking forward to checking this place out for lunch. Unfortunately, this was a total letdown. The salsa was more like taco sauce with a few pieces of onion mixed in. The Burrito Loco with pork was filled with chunks of pork fat instead of meat. We had 2 at our table and both were this way. I ordered the Super Lunch, which was a taco, a burrito, an enchilada, a quesadilla, and rice and beans. The taco shell was stale, the white cheese on everything was flavorless (tasted like bland mozzarella!) and the burrito filling tasted like canned Hormel chili. The shredded chicken in my enchilada was very dry and flavorless. Wow, were we bummed! I barely touched my food and my family reluctantly ate only about half of theirs. We regret trying this place and will never return. My advice: go elsewhere. read more

Horrible horrible experience. Dined this past Sunday. We have frequented the Salsas on Beach blvd. Thinking it would be similar, we decided to try it out now that we have moved to this side of town. Guess it will be our first and last time here. Service was fast... but almost too fast. As soon as the waitress was explaining that the plates were not, she dropped my burrito loco on my lap. Scalding hot queso all over my leg and shorts. Awesome. To top it off I found a chicken bone in my burrito. Waitress kept apologizing and explained that she had never done such a thing before (in her 2 weeks of waitressing, lol). I understand that mistakes happen but she didn't even suggest offering a discount or removing the item from our bill. We will not be returning. read more

I went in Sunday afternoon to get some lunch. My server Gaby took my drink order....another server brought my drink along with chips and salsa. Shortly after receiving my drink Gaby stopped by to take my order. Food was delivered by yet another server. Gaby never stopped by to check on me, never got a refill on my drink.....nothing!!!! After I finished my food I sat awhile waiting on my bill. 15 minutes later I got up to find Gaby to get my check....come to find out from another server that Gaby decided to take s break!!!! Seriously GABY, tell your customers that you are leaving and if we need anything, let another server know. I was shocked that this is allowed to happen at this restaurant....it is not OK!!! No No No! Don't go!! Three times I have been and three times I've had a bad experience! The first time it took an hour to get the food! I had to leave, 9 months pregnant, to make a movie so I didn't get to eat! Second time the food was bad, drinks were good! The third time I had my three year old son melting down after 45 minutes,still no food, and they got his order wrong and it was last to the table!! ***The service was so bad, I created a Yelp account just so I could leave my review. Seriously.*** The service was absolutely awful. Order was wrong. Food was lukewarm. The waitress never bothered to check on us after the food finally arrived. No drink refills. We've sat for at least 20 minutes waiting on our check, watching the waitress walk pass multiple times (blatantly ignoring me as I tried to gain her attention)... still no check as we continue to sit & wait. First time but it won't be our last. Happened upon this little gem on our way to the movies which is located pretty much in the same parking lot. The food was good size to large portions and the prices were good. We had plenty of left overs and so did other people around us. There were plates of food coming out that kept turning our heads in awe and amazement including the steak and shrimp fajita plate, oh my yum. And there was some huge bowl thing that you spoon out a mixture of ingredients to make miniature tacos we most certainly will try. A local guy said Taco Tuesday is always good as well and they were making $5 margaritas and $3 Sangrias. The margaritas were very potent & looked like $10-15 drinks. I had chicken chimichanga plate and boyfriend had pork carnitas with all the fixings. They didn't charge him any extra for a plate of cilantro, tomatoes, & onion. So nice but we got charged almost $4 for watered down not really flavorful queso dip, which I won't get again. The chimichanga was too salty for me and overall lacked flavor but it did not suck. My boyfriend loved loved loved his tacos. I want to come back n try the fajita plate for sure. read more

My fiance took me here for dinner. The food was great and came out EXTREMELY FAST. We were still eating chips when the food came. Even the salsa for the chips was extremely good. It was the most flavorful salsa ive ever had. I went on a friday night and they had karaoke machine going. Im not sure if they do this every friday night. We went in for lunch today and had terrible service and food was just okay. We both ordered chimichangas one beef (double rice instead of beans) and one chicken without guac. Both of our orders was incorrect. I received the chicken and didn't realize until I started eating it and my guac was missing but had the double rice. My friend had the beef with the guac I was supposed to have. I went ahead and ate the chicken as she had already picked a bunch of stuff off her plate. My friend sent hers back as she did not want beef. She had to wait at least another 10-15 minutes and by the time it came I was done eating and she had finished the bean dip and was no longer hungry. Even after they brought her food the waitress did not come back and make sure everything was okay. We had to ask the hostess for a container and check as our waitress was nowhere in site. There was barely an apology and I would think they would at least offer a discount seeing our entire order was wrong. I will likely not return to this location. read more

Small and not a loud cafeteria feel to it like some restaurants. Nothing fancy but love this place. Good food and booths have high backs to provide more privacy. Staff recognizes you after a few visits which is a plus for me. read more

I was shocked how delicious and affordable my lunch was. Ordered the steak quesadilla and my fiancé had the carne asada. We ordered queso fondido to go (to have during the FSU v. Ole Miss game) and our total was less that $25 with tax. Better quality meat than La Napolera and more authentic flavors. My only complaint is that I was charged $1 to add onions to my meal. I expected an upcharge but not the same upcharge as my meat. We didn't bring it up because we were in a rush but we will next time. read more

Most mex restaurants are fairly quick but the food came out slowly and out of order. When it arrived by two staff, the waitress was not present to direct the order to the correct customer so we ended up redirecting the hot plates to one another. The enchiladas were overly greasy and the rice was bland. The salsa was excellent and fresh. A good thing considering the name of the place. Chile Relleno was small a bit greasy but had good flavor. I don't eat Mexican food very often, but wanted to have a nice dinner for my birthday. I saw Salsa's while driving home from work and decided to give it a go. I was seated right away and brought chips and salsa. The waitress took my order and I got my food rather quickly. I chose the steak ranchero. It was good. My only complaint on it would be it need more "kick" the sauce was a little bland for my taste, but it had good flavor. I added a dash of salt and that helped. The steak was cooked rather nicely. I usually don't eat but a cursory bite or two of the beans and rice, but the beans were really good and I ate all of them. The rice was ok. The portions were fairly large. Not impressed at all. Disappointed, honestly. Selected from doorstep, made clear instructions, doorstep delivery personnel was great and informed me that he inquired about my request notes and he said they told him "oh yes, absolutely". Well, someone didn't read the request or ignored it. Clearly stated (and paid extra for) grilled chicken, cheese and sour cream only on the taco, no onions (please and thank you) I get a dry shredded chicken taco, onions, peppers, minimal cheese, no sour cream on the taco (instead a large dipping container of sour cream (???) that was thrown in the bag). I will stick with LaNap and Los Loros when wanting Mexican delivery. I normally would chalk it up and keep it moving but paying double the price than what I would at the restaurant (unable to do pick up today) to have it delivered and to get it wrong is just poor service. A coworker recommended them and I've ended up ordering through Doorstep from them twice in three days. I've had the choripollo and carnitas. The choripollo was a whim decision and I've never been so glad I ordered a dish. The carnitas was amazing and almost spoon tender. Both dishes were excellent. I don't know if the tortillas are house made, but they are delicious. The salsa was perfect for me and I'm a wimp when it comes to spicy food. It is by far the best Mexican food I've had in Jacksonville. I'll be a repeat customer, for sure! read more

Cute setup and the wait staff were very nice . Lots of food on the plate. However, being a vegetarian I ordered a vegetarian dish, that came loaded with chicken ! So I could not eat any of it. The waiter seemed to think that the chicken rolled off the grill onto my plate ???? It was inside my poblano pepper... Unfortunately I had to waste all that food.
