We wanted to treat the kids after some furniture shopping and saw Salt & Straw was nearby. We had no idea it was their Grand Opening weekend! The service was spectacular and they really meant "unlimited samples", which our kids tried to take full advantage of. Their two non-sherbert vegan flavors were really tasty! My hubby and the kids got 2 scopps eaxh of the various flavors; Chocolate Gooey Brownie, Double Fold Vanilla, Sea Salt with Caramel Ribbons, Freckled Mint Chip and Salted, Salted, Chocolate Chip Cookie Dough. Everyone loved their ice cream. We are very fortunate to have so many gourmet, homemade ice cream shops in the Dallas and north Dallas area. This was good, but we likely won't make the drive for Salt & Straw. Also, we assumed because it was opening weekend they removed all indoor & outdoor seating to make space for crowds - I sure hope that was the reason, otherwise every customer was standing in the parking lot racing the heat from melting their ice cream all over their hands.
I've been hearing so much about this place before it came and I see the hype! The ice cream is so creamy, fun flavors, and so rich. I got the malted, salted cookie dough and omg! It was so good. What I loved most was the staff! You're able to try as many as you want, and they were so knowledgeable. The place is small but have tables on the outside for enjoying. There was a longgggg line. I went one night an hour before closing and the line was outside the door so I came back mid day and maybe waited 15 mins? Overall I would come again!
Got their 4 summer berry flavors in a flight and split scoop of hazelnut and cookies and cream and double fold vanilla in their limited edition strawberry shortcake cone. Came in at around 8:15 on a Thursday and had a very short wait!! The employees are so nice and truly want you to try everything! They're very patient. The ice creams were yummy especially the berry flavors!! I love how they're not too sweet and allow the berry flavors to shine. The raspberry and hazelnut flavors are vegan. I appreciate being able to get a flight or split scoop (2 flavors in the size of one scoop) so I can try a bunch without having to commit to a full size scoop. No seating inside and there's a freezer full of prepacked pints, chocotacos,doggie ice creams, and cakes.
Great new addition to the area! I live 30 minutes away and made the drive because I love ice cream, and I wasn't disappointed. They were busy with a line out the door, but the team kept things moving quickly while serving smiles and encouraging everyone to try samples. I wasn't a fan of the pear and bleu cheese flavor, but I absolutely fell in love with the rich, decadent Chocolate Gooey Brownie. If you're in the area, definitely check it out -- and even if you're not, it's worth the drive.
Abraham was the man. He started off by saying we could try as many flavors as we wanted and then ensured we tried all the flavors our heart desired. The shop wasn't as busy when we walked in, but was almost fully packed by the time we got dine ordering. The have unique flavors and are worth trying to see why one you might find t with. We got one coffee flavored scoop and lavender flavored. The latter was definitely my favorite. I just wish they had more berry /blueberry flavors

Aaaaaabsolutely loved the rhubarb ice cream! They had plenty of rhubarb in so I could taste it the entire time. The sample spoons are metal - and you can put them in a chute! Very modern and up with the times. The staff are friendly, the line was long but worth it, and the parking was easy. Loved the easy going ice cream vibes!
This ice cream place was so packed on a Monday night and the line was out the door! The line took really long since they let you sample different flavors before picking what you want to get. There were no tables inside at all so you're expected to order and leave. We got the Waffle Bowl with 2 scoops of ice cream: Sea Salt with Caramel Ribbons & Coffee and Love Nuts. The sea salt caramel was so good, it reminded me of the Caramel Ribbon Crunch Frappuccino from Starbucks, but the ice cream was so much sweeter. The coffee and love nuts were incredible, the coffee flavor was pretty strong and the nuts added a nice crunch to it. The waffle cone was good too, it was still crispy even though it was made for a while. The ice cream was really sweet in our opinions though, they were great regardless! The only thing keeping us from coming back here is the price. One single scoop of ice cream is $7, 2 scoops would be $8.50, and if you want the waffle cone/bowl would be another $1.65; about $10+ for ice cream. I love the ice cream but there are definitely cheaper and better ice cream places out there for sure.
Welcome to Texas Salt & Straw! I visited the new location today around 6pm and was relieved to see that there wasn't a crazy line. There was a line but it went by fast as there are atleast 4 different people taking orders simultaneously. There is also an option to order online and pick up in store if you don't want to wait in line, but the line goes by quick. Once you walk into the store you are hit with the smell of fresh waffle cones which smells soo good. This was my first time at a Salt & Straw and this experience was relatively chill. You are able to sample the flavors and once you are done sampling the flavors there is a slot in the counter to put your spoons. I ended up getting a split single scoop of the Jasmine milk tea almond stacciatella and honey lavender. The flavors are subtle, I notice that they have a lot of interesting flavor combinations that other typical ice cream shops don't have. The total ended up being around $8-9 for the single split scoop which is around the same price as other higher end ice cream shops. I thought it was good but not sure if it will be a place on my normal rotation given the price point. Overall I thought it was good and the service here is quick. Parking around here might be a little difficult during busy times but you should be okay during the off peak hours. Would love to try their infamous ice cream cakes one day.
I've been a fan of salt & straw for a while and I'm so happy to have 2 locations in Texas now!! Their flavors are so unique and the service is always friendly. I sampled a handful of flavors but ended up getting the double fold vanilla and salted, malted, chocolate chip cookie dough. It was sooo delicious! Although they just opened and a good amount of people were there, they got us through the line so fast. I am 100% stopping by again soon!
I have tried to come here three times and tonight it FINALLY happened.... You see, this place has been slammed since they opened. And when I say slammed, I mean like the line going down to the edge of the shopping center, And two times even wrapping around the edge of the shopping center. But last night I came late like an hour before closing time. Well, the line was still long. It was manageable. I will say this to the line moved pretty quickly. It gave me plenty of time to decide what I wanted to get. When my time to order came, I had settled on the double fold, vanilla with chocolate sauce and whip cream on a fresh waffle cone. I was impressed with the quality and smoothness of the ice cream and it was really tasty. It was not the best ice cream I've ever had, but it was certainly towards the top of the heap. Well, the ice cream is really good with this place a really excels at is customer service. Even though this place stays busy all the time, every customer gets the full treatment when they get to the counter. They take their time they encourage you to try flavors and help you settle in on what you want to get if you have not already decided. I will say it's the best customer service at an ice cream store that I have ever had.
Love salt & straw, made me so happy to finally have a PNW staple here! I however hate how bland and boring the henderson store is, just a big empty space and i hated the displays, they should have put more into the layout and detail in the displays. i'm so happy to have them in dallas finally, and the employees were super nice and patient with me and everyone i saw served during my wait.
Small store with no seating inside, but there were benches outside and surrounding areas. The staff members were so nice and patient, you don't feel rushed at all and are encouraged to try all the flavors (for those of yall that get anxious holding up the line like me)! They have a rotating menu and everything sounded incredible. Surprisingly, the cream cheese jalapeño jelly was my favorite! I also got the salted malted chocolate chip cookie. I had Salt and Straw a while ago while traveling and was excited to see they opened in Dallas! We stopped in and were delighted to find some decent parking which is in short supply in this area. To get the most pressing issue out of the way, yes the ice cream was awesome! But what struck me the most was the amazing level of service from the staff. The ladies behind the counter were fun and friendly and really enhanced the experience. We were not rushed at all and they talked us through all the flavors we tasted. These ladies really made our stop fun and I wish I had caught their names. We had the Salted Malted Cookie Dough, Cheesecake with Salted Yuzu Curd, and the Caramelized Plantain with Spicy Pecan Toffee. What we liked best was that the flavors are bold and clear. They taste like what they are called! I can also confirm that the Spicy Pecan Toffee is actually spicy and downright tasty. The shop is quite inviting. There is no seating inside at the moment but there are benches just outside where you can enjoy your ice cream and watch the world go by. If you are in the mood for ice cream it is time to stop reading and get in here! Highly Reccommended! read more

Awesome Portland ice cream addition to Dallas! They were advertising nearby and we got the sea salt caramel ribbon scoop. Slightly overly sweet, super flavorful, and had a nice touch of caramels bits throughout the ice cream. The servers were super nice and they picked a hot day to cool down the crowd. Can't wait to try the other flavors (vegan options as well) for the grand opening across the block soon! read more
I am a big salt & straw fan! I lived near Little Italy in San Diego and would stop by weekly for a scoop of salted malted cookie dough and sometimes switch it up for a seasonal option. I'm a huge fan of the unique flavors! The location is nice and was really clean. The staff was also so so friendly! Will be back over and over again. read more

Ice Cream definitely wins points for uniqueness in both names and flavors. I tried the Strawberry Balsamic ice cream -- strange name, but surprisingly really good flavor! I played it safe and got a kid-sized portion just in case lol, but now my curiosity has officially taken over. I'm definitely interested in coming back to try more flavors. read more

Finally got to try Salt & Straw and it did not disappoint. The staff were super friendly and let me sample any ice cream I wanted to try. I decided on the coffee and love nuts flavor. It was beyond delicious! As an ice cream snob I will say this has to be one of my top ice cream places in the Dallas area. So glad they opened a location here! read more

There was a long line as this location recently opened and the inside was bright and clean. I've been to some of their other locations and they have a wide variety of unique flavors and always have a rich creamy base that is very flavorful but rich so a little goes a long way! If you are adventurous ice cream goer give this place a try!! read more

I tried a new icecream shop in Dallas that has been very hyped up called salt and straw. There are from the pacific north west and are known for having a monthly rotation of special flavors. They really emphasize sampling every flavor they have so don't feel bad if you want to give each one a try. I got the honey lavender and cream cheese jalapeno jelly. I wanted to try the Hong Kong milk tea flavor but it was the end of the month so they didn't have it anymore as they were transitioning their special flavors. Their scoops are huge so I feel like it's pretty good value here compared to other premium ice cream spots. The honey lavender is very lavender forward. It's good for a few bites but I wouldn't get a huge scoop of it again. The cream cheese jalapeno jelly is very unique and I can see a lot of people not liking it. It's pretty good but I felt like it was so fattening haha. I believe you can get a single scoop or two different flavors as well read more

So happy this is here in Dallas. I am from Cali and I had to learn to learn Jeni's Ice Cream. But since salt and straw is back ove this over any of the other locations for ice cream out herein Dallas. The workers here are amazing and gave some awesome recommendations. fun ice cream I've been to their portland, oregon (original location) and miami, fl. The service is always excellent. Friendly staff Lines can be long, but I find it to be a social event. You can try as many flavors if you want, and they encourage you to explore what you like. We waited about 15-20 min While you're waiting you can see what flavors there are. Their monthly flavors rotate every month. This month (may 2026) is about flowers. I know in other places they did some Halloween/candy flavors around October I always get a split scoop, which is about the same size as a single but you get 2 flavors. I generally pair a monthly flavor with vanilla. I like my vanilla at the bottom as a palate cleanser read more

Fast forward to today, 57 locations, a cult following across California, New York, Miami, and even Disneyland, and Texas finally has its first two shops right here in DFW. Worth the wait. What makes Salt & Straw special is the flavor creativity, a never-ending rotation of monthly specials alongside chef-driven classics like Salted Malted Chocolate Chip Cookie Dough. If you're a first-timer, this is actually the best part of the experience. You're fully encouraged to linger and sample as many flavors as you want, no rush, no pressure, just like in LA. Take your time. That's the whole point. Find your flavor, then own it. And once you do know your flavor? Here's the tip: walk straight to the pints freezer in the front, grab your pint, then to the counter and skip the line entirely. You're welcome. Wow. This is what Dallas needs for the upcoming season of WARMTH. The way the service staff informed me and my mom of flavors was wonderful. They were patience and very knowledgeable of what they were serving. Fresh waffle cones, and even the classic sugar cones. Tori Williams and the other members of the staff enhanced the experience with their own recommendations. They even have Vegan options for the friends. I loved the reusable sample spoons and the variety of merch on the shelves. I enjoyed the unique design of the store that made for a quality experience. Very clean and very welcoming. They understand their value and it allows for them to be confidently delicious. I got the Zuchinni chocolate with babska and hazelnut fudge. Oh goodness I could've had two scoops. They were generous with the samples so you could experience the full flavor of the creamy goodness. The spoon dispenser was very fun and a quality time. Made me happy. Loved the unique flavor combos like Jalpeno cream cheese with jam. It had a wonderful savory and fruity and spiced but not too spicy blend. Loved the Belgium waffle cones. After the delectable ice cream, it was the perfect crunch and the napkin didn't stick to the cone. 10/10 GO HERE! read more

YESSS SALT & STRAW IN DALLAS!!! I grew up going to the one in downtown Disney California and this was sooo nostalgic. My usual go to is the caramel ribbon but I switched it for the cookie dough and wow. I also sampled the strawberry tres leches which was so good too. Service was also amazing, you would get a dedicated ice cream scooper and they would just give you a bunch of samples. I tried 2 and they were encouraging me to try more (unheard of for an ice cream shop but I think it is so awesome!). The shop is also so clean and the layout is perfect to accommodate summer rushes. I also have a weird love for their little compartment for dirty spoons built into the wall. Can't wait to come back!! read more

Came here on a Tuesday night close to closing and the place was packed. When we got to the front, i tried lots of their unique flavors and they were all honestly great, except for their zucchini bread, kind of odd lol. I stuck with the simple chocolate gooey brownie and it was so yummy. Ice cream was thick and i could tell it had good fat content to it. If you're persian like me, their saffron flavor is great as well! read more

WOOOOOOOOWWWW!!!! I've lived in Dallas my whole life and have tried all the other ice cream/gelato places that are popular and this one by farrrrrr IS THE BEST!!!! The service was amazing!! You can try every flavor and not worry about holding up the line! The ambiance is great vibes for sure! ICE CREAM WAS AMAZING!!! I will be going back every week lol read more
