I made a reservation for a party of 12 for a thank you, job well done, and farewell celebration for two of our employees. Adrian was our server and he was friendly, professional, and spot on with every detail. Everyone enjoyed the variety of appetizers, the drinks, and their dinner. It was a great time and we were able to relax and enjoy the evening. I didn't receive a single complaint from anyone who attended. My only complaint is when I booked it, I requested extra room. When we walked in the 12 chairs, 6 on each side of the tables were nearly touching side by side so I knew we didn't have or get the extra room needed and requested. I knew it was too tight and one of the managers quickly resolved it by adding an additional small table. After that, everyone was seated comfortably. Thanks to Adrian and the staff for making our celebration evening special and one to remember.

Our server, Connor, was really good. I let him know We had a small time crunch and he made sure that he got us in and out of the restaurant accordingly. I ordered the grilled chicken with brussels sprouts. Connor had recommended the sprouts and they were really good. They had a sweet and slightly spicy seasoning. My dad ordered the mashed potatoes, salad, and steak. It was all good. Also, the lemonade was exceptionally good.

We came in for an early dinner. The waiter was knowledgeable and did his best to work with our needs. As someone who doesn't like food waste, we requested to share a meal. The waiter got everything to a T with the exception of the salad. He brought an extra bowl so we can split it at the table. The food was good. I mean it's a steak and potato, it's simple food. However the green beans, to me, need some help. From lack of flavor to seasonings, this was not for me. Didnt like where we were seated felt like we were the only ones in the section and away from all the other diners. Other than that, I'd come back.

After my last few days of battling allergies, I wanted some comfort food. Like a miracle, I received rewards today from Landry's from prior purchases that could be used at Saltgrass steakhouse. So, my hubby and I decided to use the rewards at their Happy Hour in the "No Bull Lounge." We barely made it in time for the Happy Hour by the hair of our chin chin chin, which is in full force Mon-Fri, 3pm-7 pm. Their Happy Hour prices are very reasonable. We ordered cheese fries, fried mushrooms and crab cakes...a large quantity of food. We ordered one pomegranate mojito also...according to Bobby, the bartender, was super popular. After eating one crab cake and few mushrooms, I felt extremely full. My hubby loved the cheese fries and ate the majority of the fries. The food came fast and hot. All the items were tasty and plentiful. Most of the food had to be packed for home. Saltgrass has some super interesting restrooms. For example, on the outside door it says cowgirls. However, when you leaving the women's restroom on the inside door it says cowboys. Imagine having a few drinks and coming out the restroom. You might get just a little turned around and think your mind is playing tricks on you. Saltgrass Steak House is a cool venue. It is heavy on the cowboy and country theme. In addition, you get that down home Southern hospitality vibe. We will definitely come back to explore more of their menu items.

My wife and child took me out to dinner for Fathers day as the actual day we work. They choose a steak house as I enjoy a good steak but cost and the fact neither of them like steak we rarely go. The service was good. I got a cajun steak with shrimp and crawfish and mashed potatoes. Shana got Redfish and M got Chicken. My steak wasn't cajun enough for me but it was good otherwise. The potatoes were fantastic and the crawfish was good. The others enjoyed their food. The shiner bread to start was tasty. The best part were the cocktails. Shana and I had two different ones and M got one. I got a frozen crown and coke which was delightful and a bourbon old fashioned that was good. Shana got a lucky penny and another classic whiskey cocktail. M got a pineapple drink. All were very good. It was a nice visit. They paid so I have no idea of the cost. We took home some cheesecake that was good. The place was nice and clean. Quiet as well.

I think things could have been much better. After hearing about this location from a local organization, I had better expectations of this steakhouse as a place to celebrate. The service was friendly but we were charged for an expensive drink we didn't order twice. The steak was unevenly cooked. That was a new low to me and I see why it's not good. The staff worsened the ambiance by standing around nearby before clocking out or something. And sweeping/vacuuming next to diners really destroyed the mood or what was left of it. I am not going back. I tried the place and they failed. Maybe it will be better for you. Try the cheesecake. Try the tender ribs. Get it to go.

I had a late birthday dinner with extended family here at a 5:15pm reservation. The staff was surprisingly young, yet dressed very well as usual. I only go to Saltgrass for the $25 Landry's discount every year (given on one's birthday) and I can't ever find a reason to go solo as it is the most overpriced steak chain in existence. I got the 10oz sirloin medium well (because I know they like to undercook their steaks here, at least in my experience), grilled shrimp, and brussel sprouts. It was all delicious, nothing special. Our server disappeared for a long time and we all sat without water for about 25 minutes. Other than that, she was wonderful. I find the ambiance of this restaurant tacky but appreciate the Texas feel. I'll be back on my next birthday...

Traditional Thanksgiving Dinner (Special for Thanksgiving Day).

Great Thanksgiving day dinner. I don't like turkey (sorry), so I had a great chopped steak with baked sweet potato and a fresh homemade chicken tortilla soup. All were on point. My wife had the full traditional turkey dinner with all the fixings. Everything was just right. Place was packed with mostly reservation diners. We arrived about 20 minutes early, but were seated immediately. Food came quickly, fresh and hot. Nice casual a little upscale environment. Everything was just right.

Instantly greated when walking through the door. Seated immediately and was thanked for coming into dine. House salad with ranch is my favorite start to the meal. The Cajun ribeye is fantastic. Brussel sprouts amazing. Will come back whenever I'm in town. Five stars!

Wonderful food, very friendly waitstaff, and (in my opinion) an unbelievable pricetag. The restaurant felt good, comfortable, but still classy and well managed. My server Wesley was incredible and made the whole experience even better. Reminded me of a cozy country restaurant, with the quality of service coming in close to that of Daniel's Broiler in Bellevue WA.

Safe to say my mom enjoyed her bday.

With all the construction downtown, finding parking was a challenge, so we opted for valet service. We arrived right at our reservation time and started with a couple of cocktails that were both refreshing and delicious. The portions were generous, and there was more than enough food to enjoy. In fact, we ended up taking plenty of leftovers home. Our waiter was wonderful--attentive, kind, and always checking on us despite how busy the restaurant was. Great service like that really enhances the dining experience. One of my favorite things about this restaurant is that it's located in a historic old bank. The building adds so much charm and character to the experience. I was curious to explore more of the property, especially the vault area, but it appeared to be reserved for employees. Overall, we enjoyed every bite of our meal and had a fantastic experience. I will definitely be back and plan to bring family and friends so they can experience this special place for themselves.

I was excited to give it a try, and overall, we had a lovely experience. Our server, Delina, was so sweet and incredibly helpful with her recommendations based on what my husband and I were in the mood for. It was a sunny and humid day, and since we had a full night ahead of us, we didn't want anything too heavy. We started with the spicy tuna tartare, which was amazing! The complimentary bread and butter were also mouthwatering--I honestly wanted another roll. For drinks, we asked for something refreshing, and Delina delivered. My husband had a cocktail that reminded him of an Aperol Spritz with a mojito twist, while the watermelon hibiscus margarita was absolutely perfect for the weather. We shared a Caesar salad and ordered the Dean's Style steak with the sauce on the side. This was the one dish that left me a little disappointed. The steak wasn't as juicy as I expected when cutting into the center, but thankfully, having the sauce on the side helped elevate the flavor. I highly recommend the truffle béarnaise sauce--it was delicious. The atmosphere and service were excellent, and Delina truly made our evening enjoyable. While I think we've had better steaks at a lower price point, the ambiance and overall experience still made for a memorable birthday dinner.

We were excited to try the food, and were hungry. Our server appeared (I can't remember his name but he was a short guy with blond hair). I ordered a cocktail and my husband ordered beer to begin with. He went away and then came back asking my husband if he wanted some whiskey cocktail, and we corrected him that we had asked for a particular beer. No big deal. We then ordered the deviled eggs and shishito peppers, and the red fish and short ribs for entree. A lady brought us the drinks, and the deviled eggs. Our server swung by and then disappeared. We thought the shishito peppers were on their way. We waited for what seemed like a really long time and still no shishito peppers. We also noticed that each table had a carafe of water except ours. We were just given water once, and then our server never bothered to fill the water up. Anyway, we kept waiting since there was no sign of the server. At this point, we felt he might have forgotten the second appetizer and we just did not want it, but he was nowhere to be found. A man (not our server) brought out our entrees. We then told him that we had been waiting for our second appetizer and would just want to cancel it. We asked if we could get the biscuits instead. He brought out the biscuits within a few minutes. Now this is where it really annoyed us. Had our server just come over and said he had forgotten our shishito peppers, it would have been okay. Human. What he tried was act smart and dropped by saying the shishito peppers would be out to which we said that we didn't want an appetizer after an entree and had cancelled it. I almost felt like he was treating us as if he thought we don't really dine out or whatever and he could just make fools of us. This really didn't sit right with me. We asked him for water and he filled it up left. The food was above average. The short ribs were good but my red fish had been hammered! The biscuits were good. The deviled eggs were good as well. Anyway, we finished our meal, and got the check, paid, and were waiting to finish our drinks. The receipt was on our table. Also, note, it was not a particularly busy day with several empty tables. What our server did next was absolutely unacceptable. I think he wanted to see if we had tipped him after his awful service. We did, but not 20% as we always do because of the soddy job he did, not to mention his attitude. We paid 15% which I think was more than what he deserved now. Out of nowhere, and mind you, after being absent for long periods before, he just came by, grabbed the paid up bill from our table to our shock, while we were still sitting and talking, looked at the bill, turned towards us, and muttered something angry under his breath and walked away. I have never seen this level of entitlement and bad behavior. We left right away. We had been really looking forward to this meal but I would not want to go back. The food was good, but not great, and I would not want to put up with such obnoxious behavior as a paying customer.

I paid the tip and received no compensation for this review. I'm focusing only on the dishes I personally ate. We had a 6 PM Sunday reservation, and the restaurant was quiet and calm. We were seated near the front, but I saw several dining areas -- all classic, clean-lined, and intimate. Our server, Adam, was exceptional from start to finish. His timing, attention to detail, and genuine care elevated the entire evening. He made thoughtful recommendations for cocktails and dessert, and every suggestion was spot on. Cocktails I asked for something light, and Adam suggested a summery twist on their cucumber martini. He added elderflower, and it was refreshing and delicious. We also tried the Divorce Papers (light, slightly sweet, with an earthy undertone) and the Dreamsicle, which is sweet, fun, and honestly as much an experience as it is a drink. While we waited, we were served a small blintz bite with caviar -- a lovely bite to start the meal. Starters We ordered the crabcake and the Caprese salad, both easily shareable. * The crabcake is one of the best I've had in Austin -- large, packed with jumbo and shredded crab, and seasoned perfectly. The aioli and fresh lemon made every bite better. * The Caprese truly surprised me. I expected heirloom tomatoes and fresh mozzarella, but the Sicilian pesto with Marcona almonds elevated it in an unexpected way. The pesto was thick, chunky, and incredibly flavorful -- it tied everything together beautifully. Balsamic and olive oil are added tableside, and the dish is as delicious as it is pretty. We were also served Brazilian cheese bread, which had a sharp cheese flavor and a great chew. Mains & Sides I ordered the 8 oz filet mignon, cooked rare. It had a perfect peppery crust and a tender center -- exactly what you want from a fine steakhouse. For sides, we shared: * Crispy Brussels sprouts -- roasted through, very crispy, and served with walnuts, feta, shaved prosciutto, and balsamic. Best when you get a little of everything in one bite. * Truffle sweet potatoes -- the first serving had undercooked layers, but the staff handled my feedback professionally and quickly brought a new dish. The remade version was delicious, with a great balance of flavors. Dessert Adam recommended the Carajillo, an after-dinner cocktail made tableside. If you enjoy espresso, get this -- the presentation alone is worth it. We tried two desserts: * Crème brûlée -- large enough to share, topped with berries, with a perfectly thin sugar top. * Flambéed strawberry shortcake -- made tableside by Enrique, who explained each step as he prepared it. The house poundcake is buttery but balanced by the ice cream and strawberries. Not overly sweet, which I appreciated. Also very shareable. Overall A great steakhouse should deliver on food, ambience, service, and drinks -- and J-Prime Steakhouse absolutely does. I had multiple moments where I paused just to appreciate the flavors. Adam made the evening fun, and the entire team ensured the experience felt special. I left wanting to come back and try more of their popular dishes.

I'm from Los Angeles, and have been to many high end and hip restaurants, this was definitely up there with some of the best restaurants. Food: Crab tagliatelle is a must! This dish was delicious and everything you can ask for from a pasta. Gnocchi special with Peas and Asperagus is a must. This creamy and feather light dish was packed with so much flavour. Lobster scalloping was very good as well and so was the filet mignon. But best of all were the side of carrots, pear and endive salad and the Cho salad. My drink was the basil cocktail was was phenomenal. Everything was just so so very good. Our waitress Tiagna was an absolute delight in every way. Thank you so much!!!

This was my first dining experience at Red Ash and it was for my friends birthday dinner. I had a great view of everybody walking by the restaurant outside :) Our server was fantastic! He was super friendly and attentive. We arrived at 8:00 p.m. and left a little after 10:00 p.m. The food was delicious. My man absolutely loved his seafood pasta dish! He doesn't even eat pasta but he scraped that plate dry. I highly recommend ordering family style for the table but make sure your whole party is on board with splitting the check evenly because the restaurant does not break up the check according to diners only split evenly, I believe up to four ways. Example: Our check was $822 (included gratuities) for seven people and we were only able to split evenly four ways. Roughly $118 each. It is what it is but I didn't even get a main course. Just a glass of wine, a half of a piece of bruschetta, some of the Caesar salad and a small portion of the gnocchi (all shared) I'm glad I got to experience Red Ash, but now that I've checked that off my list, I'm good.
