I took my girlfriend to Saltgrass for an early Valentine's Day dinner 2-13-24 and checked in at the front desk for a party of 2. When we sat down to wait, they immediately sat the next 3 tables that had walked in the front doors that were parties of 2 before us tell I asked to speak to the manager. Then they were taking names and phone numbers of the guests walking in and never took our name and number. This is just a slap in the face. We asked for bread, and they didn't have any bread made so we had to wait 15-20 minutes to receive break. When I used my $25 reward for my meal it only took off $22.04. The manager said it was a computer typo and would correct itself and it didn't so I insisted that they change my ticket until they adjusted it because a water wasn't added to my bill to receive the full $25 discount. The last 3 time I've been to this location I've had nothing but issues from wrong bills to overcooked steaks. During this visit it took 2.5 hours from the time I arrived, order a meal, and pay my bill. It's ridiculous that I was at this restaurant for that long. Saltgrass has lost my business for good, I've had enough of this. This isn't a professional establishment. I will be reaching out to the corporate office. read more

The waitress brings out the bread with a dab of butter in each container not even full so we requested more, that seem to hurt her feelings. We order two appetizers and drinks and it was like we were doing her a favor, It was awkward. She take the order of entrées fried steaks and ribeyes with side and salads. If there was zero stars, that's what I'd give. Do not order to go. Save your money and go to the outback at this location. First, they didn't have a New York strip after we already ordered it. That's not the worst though. They asked my husband to call, so he did and told them to do the filet instead. Then, when he gets there, (we live 25 minutes away), they said that they asked him to call because they didn't have the strip in stock. He told them he did call, and he has to wait until they cooked the filet. They also made him pay for a filet, which is more than the strip, which is what we wanted and would have ordered had they had it in the first place. On top of that, when he gets home, they gave us a sirloin and not a filet!!! I don't know a steak house out there that gets filet cuts that look like sirloins!! Filets are fat and oval not thin and round. We were also missing a side salad, no silverware, which is kinda the point of eating out is to not have dishes after. They also burnt the corn dog kids meal, like parts were black and hard. The sirloin was not medium well. It was almost raw. But the worse of it all was the customer service when I called. I spoke with Tasha at first. I only got as far as to tell her the issue with them not having the steak in stock that we ordered, my husband calling, they not having it ready, and we got a sirloin instead of a filet, and she said she'd refund it without a problem and put me on hold. Then a few minutes later Elissa got on the phone and answered it like a call center that didn't know why someone was on the phone, and told me that the other manager was busy and would be a while. I started to explain yet again what happened and she said that it was a filet, and that she wasn't going to refund anything. She said she was the highest manager on duty. I naturally said I wanted to speak to the other manager, and she said that wasn't going to happen, so I said the money would be refunded one way or the other. She said I needed to call back when I call down and hung up on me!! Well, I was calm when I started, but I'm not paying $100 for 2 adults and a 4 year old when we had to order food for 2 people after!! I told her it was her job to talk to pissed off people if she was going to deliver below par food and service and then talk to them like that!! She said it sounded like a corporate issue!! I've never had a manager invite me to call corporate!! Maybe other people get pissed and forget about it the other day, but getting a corporate complaint is usually avoided at all costs at most places!! I called back like 10 times and she kept hanging up on me about 6 times until I started hanging up on her until someone else answered the phone! I asked who the managers were on shift and they had 4, yet I got the rude, arrogant, and disrespectful one!! I asked to speak with Tasha again but instead I got Sierra who said I couldn't speak with Tasha. She said that I'd have to call to speak with Sean and she thinks he works tomorrow. Well, it's not the employees fault that they work for an idiot like elissa, so I will call the gm tomorrow, but I will not stop there. I want the supervisors number too. And someone needs to educate your staff on proper etiquette on customer service. There's no reason for a restaurant staff to act like it is their money they are giving back when they know they messed up or Tasha wouldn't have been so quick to refund. Also regardless of whether you agree or not, if you are a manager of managers, you don't take back the promise of a refund. You educated in the background. Me and my boyfriend were out with a friend to go bowling, and since the lanes at the bowling alley were full we decided to burn 45 minutes at the local Saltgrass. The friend we were with works at a different saltgrass so he was able to get all of us a decent discount for the meal so it was convenient. We were greeted in a timely manner, which was nice but the service went downhill from there. Upon receiving our appetizer, the bacon wrapped quail, there was no honey-siracha glaze at all on the dish as it states in the menu. I would've said something to our server, but the next time we saw our server was 20 minutes from a different server dropping off our appetizer. Finally seeing our server, she took our food order and brought our soups and salads in a timely manner... but my boyfriend tried to use the salt shaker for his soup and the salt was soaking wet and we received a second shaker that was AGAIN completely soaked... granted we were already 40 minutes through our time here at saltgrass and after we finished our soups and salads, it took nearly 35 minutes for our food to get to the table where each steak was cooked incorrectly... our server then took nearly 10 minutes to come to the table to ask us to which I had already began eating my steak and so did our friend. My boyfriend sent back his steak to be cooked properly which took an additional 30-40 minutes to get to the table! During this time our server NEVER not once came to the table at all to check on us. We were there for about an hour and forty five minutes until we decided to take my boyfriend's steak togo since our friend and I had already finished our meals. We were all completely dissatisfied with the service this server gave to us. She never told us her name either so I wouldn't even be able to tell you who not to be sat with. Not happy. read more

So tonight was a miss, they did not meet saltgrass expectations. The service was not all that good,kinda lazy if you ask me. There is certain things you do as a server/Waitress to make people at least think you care about you or there job. My steak was good but my soup was not fresh or hot. I placed a to go order and my first mistake was taken the waitress word. Didn't receive all of my food, steak was under cooked. I guess better than over cooked, no salad or dressing. Asked for extra didn't get either. I drop it off to get a call from my other half, not good. So I called and spoke with the manager on shift who was very helpful and polite. He took care of everything and even updated my Landry's card for me cause the waitress didn't even ask. I should have sat in dining instead of the bar high top I believe you get better service in there. And the sad part it was not even busy myself and two other. Hate to see it on a busy night. Sunday, July 24 th my husband and I went to Saltgrass in Baytown. OMG the waitress acted like she was out of it, forgetting things, just ditsey. Maybe she was new... I would rate the meal a 3 out of 5. However, that isn't the half of it. This kid over the half wall near the back was making a commotion, then he took off running down the isle chasing something. He thought it was a cat. They rounded the corner ant the kid had him cornered at the very end of the bar where it met the brick wall. All of a sudden this cridder shimmied up the brick wall, ran across the bartop, jumped on the area where the register was and ran behind it. My husband was sitting facing the bar. We were in a booth about 5 or 6 feet from the bar area. He saw the whole thing. His expression was priceless. He didn't have anything else to do since our wait person didn't leave a pen when she dropped off the bill. We were waiting until we saw any wait staff that could give us a pen. We were just about to just leave. Ok, back to the action. He saw the kid trying to tell the two guys what had happened to no avail. Finally, the kid's dad went to check it out and my husband went also. The manager had made it in that direction also. It turns out that the critter was a humongous, fricken RAT. Was served a raw and rancid pork chop, and they did nothing to even attempt to compensate. Everyone was asking why the terrible smell was at our table....it was my food! They removed the meal from my check with the reason "did not like the food", which I guess kept them from looking bad for serving spoiled pork on their records. They offered for me to order something else, but I had zero appetite after having that spoiled meat in my mouth. This place is pretty good. A lot of it is owed to the mangers. Chris and Raul are great people and take customer service very seriously. Any issues and ask to talk to them and they will make things right for you. Chicken fried steak and chicken fried chicken is one of my favorites. I like the old fashion drinks and their carrot cake is the best I have ever had. The rattlers are always great. Sometimes I go sit at the bar and just have rattlers and a draft beer and life is good. Sorry Kemah Boardwalk, I'll now go to the Baytown Saltgrass instead of yours. Amazing experience from the moment we were seated to the moment we left. We never wanted for anything - refills, food, check, or beer. Our server, Guillermo was fantastic. He gets 5 stars just for the conversation and his efficiency. Best service we've experienced thus far at a restaurant. I even had to stop and let the manager know. A first for me! My husband, of course, ordered a 12 ounce rib-eye which came with a side of delicious homemade mashed potatoes and he also got a Caesar salad before his meal. It was a nice size and enough for us to share. I opted for the Vaquero tacos which was basically brisket tacos with jalapeno, chimichurri, a cabbage slaw and it came with a side of fresh salsa. They were SO delicious. Better than most taco places I've been to. The brisket was tender and I could eat a plate of that alone. I got a side of Brussels sprouts which were grilled with small piece of bacon. I LOVE Brussels sprouts and usually eat them roasted, but these were fantastic. We found our new restaurant in Baytown. So I called the restaurant from the bar and placed my order with a very caring gentleman who told me they could take out the crawfish from the seafood fondue appetizer. Thanks to work, I had two big group meals in a row at the new Saltgrass in Baytown. I'm so glad this place has moved in to the area, it's a much needed daily lunch option for steaks! And it's clear that they are taking their intro to the area seriously and are doing what it takes to make a good impression. What's good: The servers are eager to please and do a FANTASTIC job keeping drinks filled and managing the meal "flow" - by that I mean the process of ordering and delivering food, and clearing between courses to make room for the next course, works seamlessly. The food quality is great. Sadly I haven't tried the steak yet personally but I've only heard rave reviews. I did try the grilled salmon and grilled chicken and both were good. What needs work: I saw two mistakes that were repeated in my two visits. First of all, I came with big groups both times and both times our tables were not ready at our reservation time. Secondly with the big groups there were always multiple people whose plates came out and they didn't get quite what they'd ordered. It was quickly rectified but still not great that it happened in the first place. The non-steak quantity of food is frankly pathetic. I'm not a big eater but both my salmon and my chicken, while quite tasty, were not nearly enough to satisfy even me - both portions were about the size of my palm and I've got tiny hands. Other details: Parking is plentiful. This place is VERY popular right now so maybe consider a reservation. They do carry out orders even for big groups, wink wink catering at work! Our experience was on Wednesday, March 8, 2017 at 5:40pm. Great location with decent food at a decent price but the lack of knowledge of basic food allergies like pork on their entrees or appetizers is a shame and automatic disqualifier in my books. Our server Oscar was great and offered great recommendations to try. The reason I am giving a one star is because prior to ordering we inquired of possible pork products in any of his recommendations given and we were reassured that none had pork. When food arrived, I discovered what appeared to be bacon on my soup and asked if it was. He said there was no meat in it, he informed us that it was skin of the potatoes. After eating and trying the soup he came back and apologized. There was bacon in the soup. Our severity differs so benadryl work for me, my wife on the other hand had to go to the restroom and induce vomit to mitigate been rushed to the hospital. Prior to ordering, we inform our server Oscar about our food allergies and joke about our previous experiences of been rushed to the hospital. He understood the severity yet this occurred. Oscar did over to "provide/ give" a salad for the mix up. Our entrees weren't well done so we had to wait a bit but nonetheless they were decent. The manager brought our food but did not mentioned the pork incident even though he was aware. We tried to make the best of this visit but will not return. read more

First time at this location. Party of 12, my son's bday. Food was awesome all around. Sirloins, chicken fried steak, salmon salad, grilled chicken breast. I had the Mixed Grill plate which had grilled shrimp, 1/3 rack of ribs and a 1/2 grilled chicken breast. Absolutely delicious, the best grilled shrimp I've had in a long time! This was our first visit to Saltgrass Steak house. The food was really good. The Service was very slow. We sat without anything to drink for 15+ minutes numerous times. We met some nice people there (customers) who we also bought drinks for so the manager decided he wasn't going to serve us anymore drinks. I'm sorry but when you spend the kind of money we spent in that place buying dinner, and drinks for ourselves and two other people ( and waiting 15 minutes or more for each drink), have an Uber ride back, not causing a scene, and you're going to refuse to serve us anymore drinks??
