    Double Woodford to start
    Mister X.

So before you have any super high expectations, especially if you've eaten at high caliber steakhouses, don't expect that here, this is a chain, like Texas roadhouse, outback, etc. I walked in, and sat at the bar which was open seating. The hostess was nice I guess, I told her that it was my first time and I was an avid Yelper, and she kind of gulped and gestured me to the direction of the bar. They must be doing something right, they were super busy, and even had a wait list. The gentleman next to me with his 8 year old girl was able to circumvent the waitlist, and both of them sat at the bar and ate. I've never seen a child sitting at a bar but whatever. Typical Texas steakhouse decorum. Nothing extravagant, but it was clean. My bartender was some young dude. Very nice, attentive, great service overall. So we can get all that out of the way and get to the food and cocktails. Upon entering, I had a double Woodford on the rocks. I was sort of expecting a single ice cube or ice sphere, so I was sort of perplexed when I had normal cubed ice in My glass. Even lower end steakhouses typically have big ice especially for a good scotch or bourbon. Second cocktail I ordered was the midnight rider, a specialty cocktail. A little on the sweet side, definitely cider influenced. The dehydrated apple chip was actually really good, and I ate it. I wouldn't order it again, but it wasn't bad. I ordered a couple ranch Waters. The bartender salted my rim which was nice, they were pretty decent overall. First appetizer I ordered was the bacon wrapped quail. Stuffed with cream cheese and a sliver of jalapeno. They were actually really good, I wish they could have fit a little bit more jalapeno in there but they were good. The brussel sprouts however, seemed like they were air fried and they didn't have the glaze that the quail did. Brussel sprouts were just horrible. It didn't seem like they were tossing Olive oil, they had absolutely zero seasoning, no salt, no pepper, just flat out plain. At home, I typically broil my brussel sprouts, after tossing them in olive oil and Cajun salt, and then finishing them off with a fresh balsamic reduction, but these were kind of just manufactured to get in and out of the kitchen I guess. I ordered the tenderloin bites as a second appetizer. They were cooked rare, per my request, and we're sort of flavorful, but the sauteed mushroom / onion was definitely on point. Probably the highlight of my entire meal as far as flavor goes. Now don't knock me, because I just completely desecrated beef, but I ordered the Cajun style ribeye, that supposedly had crawfish and shrimp and some special sauce on it. I didn't really notice any crawfish, I had a couple shrimps a top my steak. Covered in some sauce, and I ordered parmesan truffle fries as my side. The fries were so so. I wouldn't order them again, definitely not worth the extra $3. Now my steak, I ordered it rare, and even in the picture it looks rare, but it was medium medium rare in all actuality. The steak? I can't say it was horrible, but I've had better steaks at outback, probably even Denny's to be honest. No flavor at all, overcooked, and I don't know if they found a cow that doesn't eat or sit around but rather runs 440s all day, and is super health conscious, but if I had to guess, there was probably next to no marbling. I mean it was tough as far as a ribeye goes. I didn't try, but I'm sure it couldn't even be cut with a butter knife. And just before you criticize me, and just so you know, my backyard shares a meadow with Woods and Lacey's Ranch, that produces beef for Harris Ranch. My whole experience was great overall, until I got my main course. This would be the type of place that I would come to for cocktails and appetizers, before going to a different steakhouse for a main course, because the actual main course fare, in my opinion, is lackluster at best. I was eager to be able to bring food back with me to enjoy tomorrow, that's why I ordered so much, but I was just so unimpressed with the main dish, I didn't even finish it, or bother to bring it home with me. Keep in mind, I only had the ribeye. I don't know about the chicken fried steak, and other entrees they offer, but I will tell you that although it wasn't a complete disaster, I'll most likely never come in here for supper, and I definitely will not bring someone in here for their first time.

    Sirloin and Brussels sprouts, yum!

Decent food for sure, but prices are the highest you'll find in Baytown. Steak is well prepared and nicely seasoned and sides are flavorful and varied. Service is friendly and nicely paced. Music is a little loud for the slightly more formal atmosphere than what is usually found in this town but that's okay by me! I'm a fan, it's my go to for a nice night out close to home.

    No menu prices on website?

That's not the tip. That's a charge the Togo person has no control over.

Anybody heard of paying "to go fee"? Looks like they are charging me 5%. Do I still pay a tip?

Never heard of that, but no I would consider that the tip.

Finally we were seated...I was noticing the hostess did acknowledge another party several times smiling and chatting as we waited for someone to notice we been just sitting there. We are non white and ugh this is Baytown, smh. Finally realized this might be the reason! I must say it's EXPENSIVE for cold/ bad food and Horrible SERVICE. We stood waiting for a table about 6 mins or so while the hostess was passing food to other patrons/ and chatting . Finally she the hostess attended in seating my self and three others. She was not polite looked at us pissed off and seemed agitated. I must add we were the only ones in line and it was not crowded. OK , so We were finally seated. It took 20 mins or so before our order was taken. We waited for 45 minutes for our food to be given, and it was cold, not even warm! I asked the hostess also waitresses helper , for an item, yes the one who seated us ... she rolled her eyes and sighed. Clear agitation/frustrated. I told our actual waitress that not only was the hostess not hospitable (RUDE) but our food was cold after the long wait they were supposed to be cooking it. It didn't arrive hot. She said we can reheat the food and the hostess is just overwhelmed. How do you take that out on the patrons... I am paying for my services, my food... and myself and my party are the ones who suffer the wrath.. So At this time as we'd been waiting a VERY long time...we ate the cold food...and accepted the fact we were just give the worst service. For $85 for crappie food and very poor service it is what it is. Just won't ever dine here again.

Poor service, came with a Party of 10 for mothers day, you'd figure this would be a $250-$300 table…read morebefore tax and tip so ideally there would be a little urgency on this table. We asked for a high chair on 4 different occasions with 4 different people all ignored me and didnt follow up with status, took approximately 30 minutes to receive after asking for manager to express my concerns. Unprofessional and inconsiderate. Requested to sit for a party of ten but instead we were sat in a part of "five times two", where our party couldn't sit together and enjoy mothers day , but instead had to not speak to each other because of the distance, or stare at each others backs since of the seating arrangements we didn't request. Parents and children couldn't sit together cause of arrangement, it was pretty much a S Show. Additionally, waiter took approximately 20 mins to come to take our initial order, and all the wait staff were milling around in clusters talking in groups while we were waiting to be seen. African American lady next to me claimed she waited 20+ minutes to be seen by the waiter. Finally waiter came and randomly asked "are you being attended to", basically telling us nobody has been assigned to your table. To sum up the rest of the experience, Ticket time was below average (slow), took approximately 30 mins, ordered waters with lemon on the side, lemons came in the waters. Smh. When i asked for a manager at the podium/wait area to avoid not make a scene at the table to help with our seating arrangements, manager came to table and basically implied that i am complaining (in front of the whole table and other guests/ embarrassing) and "sorta-kinda" said we cant sit together because wheelchair reasons eventhough another party of 10 was well accommodated before our visit and after our visit. This whole thing caused a huge scene in which could of been avoided if they sat us down appropriately to our request of a party of 10 and provided us a high chair upon our first request; or better yet simply acknowledge you can't accommodate us before dissapointing us after the fact. Poor systems, management, customer service, and situational awareness. Its hard enough as a person of color to give cracker barrel a try for the first time, i will never ever go again, didnt feel welcome nor appreciated for bringing a $250+ ticket there for poor service and average food.

I did tell the waitress about it, but I advised her not to correct it since the kitchen was taking forever to put food out. It was not busy, but I think whoever was cooking was rushing orders and didn't care about how they came out. This was the worst experience I've had at a Cracker Barrel. When I advised the waitress, Norma, that this was the worst visit, she mentioned it to the manager on duty, Dina, but Dina didn't want to come to our table. That is terrible coming from a manager. If you're going to be running a restaurant, it doesn't matter if it's closing; you should show you care about the customers and handle the issue. This is not great management, and the district manager or whoever is in charge should know about stuff like this. I don't think it's right when food isn't fresh or is overcooked and the manager doesn't care. Overall, it was a experience with terrible service. My waitress did show me my ticket to prove that she took my order properly, but the kitchen just sent it out wrong. Ambiance was chill .

When it came out, it was rare when he ordered medium well. They took it back to remake it, which took another half hour. Two of the steaks were also overcooked from what we requested. The sides were also cold, I'm assuming because they messed up the order and had them sitting there waiting. They apologized and offered us free dessert and were nice about it at least, so that's the only thing stopping me from giving 1 star.
