I returned for my father's 91st birthday. We used to celebrate at big, fancy steakhouses, but now we appreciate how effortless Saltgrass is. Parking is easy, getting a table is quick, and the staff is relaxed and accommodating. The food is solid, and it's never too busy or too loud. Andrew, our waiter, was exceptionally kind to my father. I'm puzzled by the new mocktail policy--apparently, you can't get a Moscow Mule Mocktail in a copper mug anymore, which disappointed my father a bit, but it wasn't a deal breaker. My father didn't want dessert, but Andrew kindly offered to box it up to go. The chocolate cake was a generous portion, which was a thoughtful gesture. Overall, it was a pleasant, low-key evening out with my 90+ year-old father. Thank you, Saltgrass.

We came to Saltgrass on a whim, we were greeted and seated pretty quickly. This place is a large family friendly restaurant. Decor is very rustic as you worked expect. Our server Samaria was courteous and very knowledgeable about the menu. Gave some recommendations on what to try since it was our first time. The food was good and they have large portions. I'd like to return and try other menu items but our first time was a good experience

Full me once shame on you. Fool me twice...well you know. Not very many steakhouse options in the Lake Travis area. Was craving some major beef, so I gave Saltgrass another try. True to its name, steak was salllllllllty. Very large porterhouse cut, green beans, cup soup, comp bread for ~50$ (before gratuity). I ordered my steak mid-rare and received medium well. Nice search, but internal temp way over. It took so long to receive I didn't dare request a replacement. Hangry. ;) Asked for the choice of Potato Soup to go. Ate it for lunch the next day. Some of the oddest soup I've ever had. ??? Flavor was overwhelmed with onions. Luckily, I actually love onions. The texture was very difficult to get over (see photo). Watery and grainy. Merp. It'll suffice when your iron is running low, but Saltgrass definitely leaves lots to be desired.

My best friend Ann and I share birthdays. We always go to this location to celebrate. The food was delicious as always. But this time our celebration was extra special because of our waitress Gabby. She was a delight. One of... if not the BEST server we've had at any restaurant in a long time. She was cheerful, observant, courteous, and on the spot with refills and checking in with us. We shared dog photos and a laugh every time she came by the table. Our evening couldn't have been better. Gabby is a gem. We wish her well on her journey through college and beyond. Gabby, thank you for treating us like family. You were a delight to share our evening with.

Came here on Veteran's day to celebrate a family member's birthday around 1pm mid week. First time here. Friendly front of the house. Service is a bit slow.. seems they are understaffed today. Maybe it was because of the holiday? Friendly table service. Drinks took a bit to come out. We only ordered 2 margs. Apps: fried pickles, some of the best I've had in CTX so far. Light, sour, fresh ranch/dill dip. I'd come here for happy hour and just get this and a drink. Main meals: Lunch Rib eye med rare, cooked as requested, melted in my mouth. Came with 2 sides. i got the potato soup. Hubs got the salad. -9/10 rib eye 10oz -6/10 soup -9/10 salad (finally some fresh good greens here in TX) 8/10. Chicken fried steak. Huge! Garlic mash. Yums. Hubs only ate 1/2. 9/10 Chocolate cake. 3 layers. Not too sweet. That and some cold vanilla ice cream. One of the best chocolate cakes I've had. Overall we had a nice time. If our drinks would have come out in 10min vs 15-20that would have made the visit a 5star.

I have been to quite a few Saltgrass Steakhouse, but this one was not one that I would recommend. The service was not up to par as I have received that others Saltgrass Steakhouses. The general atmosphere of the restaurant was dull, gloomy, unimpressive and seemed dirty. As we looked at the booth next to us, we noticed that the benches were ripped and torn, and the table seemed scratched. We ordered a ribeye steak 12 ounce and the double bone in pork chop with the baked potato and Caesar salad. The ribeye was un impressive as if it had been tenderized with a different type of tenderizer because it had a strange taste. The butter that we were given seemed like imitation butter or a cheap margarine instead of real butter. May I remind you that these are not cheap plates. The ribeye was $30 and the pork chop was $26.

Fantastic Maudeen filet tonight. Deliciously seasoned and though other places seem to be raising their prices daily, this menu seems to reflect the same or even what I consider low prices. We went ahead and got the Landry's card to benefit even further. I ordered my steak with the side of broccoli (after all New Year's resolutions) and it was exactly perfectly cooked and a heaping helping.

Raw burger to go. Should've just cooked my own. This was under seasoned, undercooked and gross. And expensive.

What a great meal we had, starting with rattlers, shrimp stuffed jalapenos. After salads, my lady had a filet, while I went for the prime rib. Loaded baked potatoes rounded both our meals off. Our server Jaz was quick and friendly, making sure we had lots of tea and bread, and there was no waiting for the check. Triple A +++ read more

Service from Tia Erica and Dafne was amazing. Prime rib was really good. The sweet Potato (Camote) was not cooked all the way but both Tia Erica and Dafne jump into action and immediately to care of it. Will be back!!!! Great early Saturday dinner. read more

Saltgrass Steak House in Bee Cave Galleria is where we dined. Our Good friends invited us to their church for Christmas Eve service. We thought dinner afterwards would be nice...so I tried to secure reservations. Come on...Christmas Eve, who's dinning out on that day??? Well!! Come to find out that eating out on Christmas Eve is quite popular. I couldn't find anywhere that we liked, that would take us before 8:00pm and we needed reservations around 3:30pm. As I was checking around the area, I came upon Saltgrass Steakhouse. I called and spoke with Israel, he said he thinks their all booked up, but he referred us to the manager. Initially the manager thought they were full, but she set us up for a 3:45pm appointment for a party of four. AMAZING! We arrive about 3:30pm, the hostess says "we have a booth all set up for you!" (The place is fairly empty but yet she seats us in a booth between the kitchen and the bathroom???) ‍ Other than that seating choice, our server was great. My group is finicky about everything from drinks - entrees. But our server accommodates all our needs. Their lunch menu goes until 5:00pm I think, so we were able to order smaller lunch portions. I ordered a Steak & Shrimp dish that came with a top sirloin steak, cook medium (Pink inside). When it arrived the meat was a little tough, so I inquired with the server. The manager came out and suggested I try another cut. I decided on the filet ( I paid the difference). It was a much better choice. It was "Butterflyed (split down the middle, like a Butterfly) so it was very tender and juicy. We all pretty much enjoyed our food. We loved the location. There's a man made water feature outside the restaurant, with all types of wildlife inside. Great photo oppertunity. My apologies, we were so excited about celebrating the moment I totally forgot to take photos of the meal. Guess that will require a second visit. read more

My wife and I went for lunch on a Monday at 11:45, thinking we would beat the crowd. (I didn't realize that there wouldn't be one) We were seated promptly by the host. There were 2 other tables taken and 1 person sitting in the bar. Waitress brought menus and took our water order. Returned soon and took our food order. 1 grilled chicken sandwich with fries and 1 patty melt with fries. Quick and easy, right?? Easy, yes. Quick, NOT. 29 minutes later our order arrived and it was barely warm. Like it had been sitting somewhere. Fries were a bit tough and the wife's chicken was tasteless. My patty melt was fine with the grilled onions but the burger meat was pretty much tasteless. Salt helped a little. $41.00 with tip. It had been 3 years since we had eaten here and it may be more than that before we try it again. Waitress was great--food and wait time, not so much. read more

If you're looking for a great steak and intimate dining experience in Bee Cave look no further. Pat's ribeye with a side of fried mushrooms is my personal go-to. The draft beer selection is more than adequate, and the bar area is an excellent place to watch sports. Our waitress was in training, but was excellent nevertheless. Needless to say, we will be back soon! read more

We were a group of six old friends getting together to celebrate some life milestones. The place seemed busy, but not overly so. Our waitress, Daphne, was amazing. Our drink orders took forever...the bartenders seemed quite overwhelmed...but Daphne kept updating us on the progress. The drinks took a while for the entire meal, and while we good-naturedly gave her a hard time, Daphne was the epitome of excellent service. Our food was wonderful, even though they ran out of prime rib before 7 pm. Would recommend a visit just to get Daphne as your server. read more

Our server, Jaz, did an excellent job for our group of nine guests. She delivered our drinks quick, ordered and delivered our appetizers fast, kept our drinks full and provided pitchers for non-alcoholic beverages. The main dishes were all delivered by her and her co-workers together and organized. All the food was perfectly cooked and tasted excellent. We all talked about how great our experience was and would definitely return for another meal. read more

They have one of the best Chicken Fried Steaks around. The plate comes with salad and two sides. I always get the green beans and mashed potatoes. Delish! They had recently opened for dine-in when I went for a late lunch. Service was really good and they have indoor and outdoor seating available. You can still order to-go as well. I'd recommend a reservation if you're going for dinner and prefer outdoor seating. I'm glad we could walk around outside at the Galleria afterwards because I was full! It made for a nice, relaxing day. read more

Delivery drivers beware. I went to pick up an order. The little guy with black hair tells me 5min. After 20min I ask for it again and the same guy goes back to check and then tells me he can't find it and that it wasn't in the system. While in the area shopping on a Saturday afternoon my partner admitted he had yet been to Saltgrass ever. I was shocked as I grew up in San Antonio and Saltgrass was always the place we went to for celebrations or just a dang good fine dinner. So we had to stop in to make sure to get a good lunch for fuel to continue shopping. Pretty low key on a Saturday afternoon here but the service was on point. We had a great server who accommodated to all of things we needed for our steaks. We appreciated her niceness, promptness, and her attention to detail. Steaks were made as we asked and our appetizer (fried mushrooms) were praised by my partner as possibly being the best mushrooms he had ever had! My ribeye was fantastic and so were the sides as well. His sirloin and shrimp plate was great too. I think next time we need to order a half portion of everything as our eyes were waaaay bigger than our stomachs. Thank you for the great service and great food! Cannot wait to come back! read more

The League Tavern is a gastropub…read more "Gastropub". That word is so 2010's. A decade ago calling yourself a "gastropub" was the coolest thing in the hospitality industry. Now, it is a lost artifact of another decade, along with Swedish House Mafia and Britney Spears. The League calls itself a retro reminder of the eating clubs of the 1920's and 1930's. It is pretty damm good as a gastropub. It would not really want to be an eating club of the Prohibition era. Menus in that era could be pretty awful. Mashed parsnips. Liver and onions. Greens that have been cooked to death. Tough steaks. Low quality lager beer. The Indian Puddings were all right. The fish was great if it was fresh. I wish they would bring back Welsh Rarebit. But the League sticks to a contemporary menu ... And I am glad they do. Their contemporary dishes are just great. I had a faro salad with grilled shrimp on top. The faro salad was everything I would want a grain salad to be. (I have had some awful tabboulehs and quinoa salads in my time.) The shrimp were completely lovely. Prices are high - but that is what comes with being a gastropub. The concept is: Pay more. Eat higher quality. The Lakeway market will certainly support the League in the prices it wants to charge. The selection on the menu - and for that matter the selection at the bar - is fairly restricted. Having a small menu is not a necessary correlate of being a gastropub. Some gastropubs offer you an expansive range of choices. But careful management of the menu choices means that each and every dish can be polished to a high degree of execution finesse. Practice makes perfect. My guess is that the League envisions itself as a neighborhood place - albeit a rich neighborhood place. Their customers are likely to be regulars. The regulars order their favorite dishes over and over. I myself like my bars and grills to be Cheaper, Funkier and With bigger selections on the menu and at the bar itself. So the League is not exactly my style. But what they do, they do well. They are expanding, opening more branches in more locations. They can do this because the League fills a real need in the Lakeway-Bee Cave market. If a Lakeway resident were to invite me to be their guest at the League Tavern, I would be happy to accept that invitation. Especially if they were picking up the check.

Apparently they use a rotisserie chicken that's stripped by a machine - then they just grab a handful of whatever comes out and throw it on the salad. For the cooks it's easy to remember - if it's slathered in sauce use dark meat, otherwise use breast meat. Service was attentive and the outside patio was nice.

And my chicken Florentine had plenty of spinach but would definitely have benefited from more garlic. We ordered desserts: a couple of cheesecakes (one choc and one amaretto) and two lemoncelli. The lemoncelli was delicious even if it was so cold it seemed frozen. The chocolate cheesecake was good. Not sure about the amaretto cheesecake because I was served a plain cheesecake instead. So, not really worth a special trip, but not bad either.

Not your finest hour, but there is hope. We were there and were told 20-30 min. wait and were Laundry members. So a little put off right away. It was a weekend night, think it was Saturday night about 8 pm. Seriously understaffed on the floor, everyone is right now. Our waiter was Zack. Just saying Zack, find a new job. Talk about someone who could careless. I mean wow. He forgot our waters. Seriously. I had to call him over by name three times. The first time was for our waters after we sat down. He totally forgot. Then he brought the soup, and then never picked up the empty soup bowl. I had to move it to the edge of the table as a hint. Still completely not registering. He left my wife's empty soup bowl on our table the entire meal and was there another 2 visits and it never entered his mind to pick it up. It wasn't removed until another waitress, who was a total rock star by the way, pick it up as she walked pass. In fact, think there were three or four other female waiters that were rocking their tables. Followed service protocols and were nailing it. All I could do was to wish I was at one of their tables. We ordered a NY Strip, witch is actually a KC Strip--no island, and two salmons. it took about 35-40 minutes for us to get our meals. My daughter's steak was raw! Not rare, raw. Clearly no temp checking in the kitchen. So that went back. She didn't get it back, and she asked for medium rare, until we had already finished our meals. The salmon was amazing. They nailed it. Then there was a table next to us with four adults and a baby. There food took an hour. Yep, Zack was the waiter. And he got the check wrong too. I felt so bad for them that I was apologizing for getting our food, well at least part of it, about 15 minutes sooner than they did and they had been there and ordered before we even sat down. The table that was sat before us didn't get their food until we were about ready to leave--don't know when they ordered and they had a bunch of drinks on the table. The hope is this. There was a female manager working that night and I didn't catch her name. She was working hard, clearing tables, dealing with the table with 1 hour and no food, and other issues, and doing her best. She has 3 other waitress that are very good. If this manager could find 2 more solid waiters this place will be golden. I did go up to her when we left and told her this, that we appreciated her and her efforts and dedication didn't go unnoticed. Asked her to hang in there. read more

Stopped by Saltgrass on a weekday for a late lunch to redeem a reward. The service was genuinely friendly. I was made aware that I had extra reward money left and suggested getting dessert, which was a thoughtful touch. The establishment itself was clean with a nice atmosphere featuring exposed brick walls in the bar area. Unfortunately, the chicken fried steak didn't quite live up to the setting. I ordered it as part of my quest to find the best one in the area, but this wasn't it. The cream gravy had a cheesy flavor that I was not expecting from traditional country gravy, but I liked it. The mashed potatoes were nothing special, just average. While I appreciate the attentive service and clean environment that Saltgrass provides, the execution on this classic Texas dish fell short. I might give them another try for their steaks, which seem to get better reviews, but the chicken fried steak won't bring me rushing back. read more
