Happy hour
Amy W.

First of all, let's talk about Julian!!!!!! hands down the best bartender we've encountered in Texas, and that is not an exaggeration. This guy could easily be slinging cocktails at a swanky four-star steakhouse downtown and raking in the big bucks, but lucky for us, he's here at Saltgrass in Irving, just five minutes from our house. We popped in for happy hour (always on the lookout for a good deal) and ended up spending about $80 on two appetizers and five cocktails. How? Oh right....Julian's impeccable service and the generous tip we happily left him. The happy hour martinis (Tito's for $6!) were perfectly chilled with those dreamy ice crystals on top, just how I like it. Not only did Julian ice the glass and shake it just right, he even put a couple backup glasses chilling for my next pour. I mean... who does that anymore? He brought us the delicious warm bread and butter without us even asking, and we shared the fried mozzarella and tenderloin bites, both solid choices from the happy hour menu. To top it all off, Julian surprised us with a complimentary slice of carrot cake to welcome us on our first visit. Talk about service with heart. Saltgrass, you have a GEM behind the bar. Take good care of Julian!! we certainly plan to be back often as long as he's there. Five stars and a toast to great drinks and even better hospitality!

Bulleit old fashioned

The staff was great, but the cut of steak not so much. I'm a ribeye guy and I am always good with fat but there was no way this was 16oz. The old fashioned was made well but they offered me the happy hour which had bulleit, when they had an amazing buffalo trace old fashioned on the menu, why offer the cheap stuff?!?! So in all I got what I paid for I guess. An $80 meal. Just a reminder that it's worth going high class for steak. The starter and sides were good though.

Very Texas decor. A traditional steak house. I made an order to go. In the meantime the wonderful bartender introduced me to their signature Texas tea, their take on a Long Island. It was pretty good. Energetic conversation as patrons at the bar socialized while watching the game. Service was attentive and engaging. My steak was cooked extremely well!! I was pleasantly surprised!

My coworkers wanted to go to this restaurant called the - "Saltgrass Steak House" in Irving, TX. one night, and since I had me some wheels, I drove da fellas out to Saltgrass to check 'em out. I'm so glad I came out to the Saltgrass, as the food here was reasonably priced. If you're not into steaks (like me), there were many other alternative food options, plus a big bonus as there was a Monday night football game going on, and I got to watch part of the game from the restaurant. While looking over the menu, I decided to get the grilled salmon with a garden salad and a baked potato with some sourcream on top, while both of my coworkers gorgeded themselves on some juicy steaks. What can I say about the grub??? Unfortunately, ordering seafood at a steak house may not be the best idea, as my salmon was definitely overcooked. Lol! The Saltgrass Steak House kinda reminded me of a Stuart Anderson (what I have back home), where they have a cowboy themed decor within the restaurant. Service here was excellent, as our hostess was also our waitress & she provided us with the most friendly & efficient service. Service definitely was on point! Food - 3 Service - 5 So I averaged it out to a "4".......if ya ever decide to come here, stick with the juicy steaks! Lol!

Cocktail and bread

Update from previous review. Santos the general manager reached out, and we discussed the matter. I met with him on Tuesday and received a replacement meal. This was the quality I am accustom to at Salt Grass. Missy was took great care of me and Santos made this right! Thank you I will return as a customer!

DRANKS!!! From left to right: Frozen crown and coke, Texas tea, two shots of tequila and orange slices.

If it isn't apparent one of my favorite meals is steak with a baked potato and salad. So, happy hour at SGSH was a must after a long work week. Our service was phenomenal I believe her name was Mya. Beautiful personality, friendly, informative, and attentive. Upper management should consider promoting her to the floor server training specialist. Now let's get to this food.... I ordered the ribeye lunch special & my coworker had the beef tips over tators. The cocktails of choice were a grand Texas tea and frozen Crown and Coke.

It was SOOOO LOUD though. just so many people and loud. Hard to have a conversation. Got the crab cake salad ($34). The crab cake itself was legit. The salad part was an interesting set up since they just had the crab cake on the side and then the salad on the side. I really liked it! Tried one of the sushi rolls and it was interesting that they added some olive oil and citrus?? when it wasn't specified on the menu at all.. I liked the roll though. It will run you $20+ for one. It's big but I also feel like you would need to order a side if you wanted to make that your main entree. And paying for 2 sushi rolls at that price point is steep. The lobster roll looked good? very saucy though. A lot of the stuff on the menu is market price like the filet, risotto etc.

And when you combine this with the beautiful spring weather in Texas (March), it's one of the best experiences in all of DFW. My Overall Rating - 5 Stars (Atmosphere, Service, Food, Return) Atmosphere - If you haven't been to Water Street, go now while the weather is nice (March or October). I'm writing this review in March when the Texas weather is beautiful. While the inside of Pacific Table is elegant with blue booths and white tablecloths, the outdoor seating next to Lake Carolyn creates a view that's almost impossible to find in DFW: fine dining by the water. 1 Star. Service - The service is great. Our server was attentive, helpful, and best of all shared the special of the day. I always ask my server because when they recommend an excellent dish, it means the restaurant puts in the effort to enable them. Mission accomplished. 1 Star. Food - I went with Pacific Table's special of the day: blackened redfish with creole sauce and a vegetable. WOW. This dish was a homerun. The fish was tender, well-seasoned, and the sauce added a creamy component that reminded me of the bayou. As a bonus, my sauteed spinach that I chose as my side was equally delicious. If I wasn't dining in public, I would have licked my plate. 2 Stars. Will I Return? - Yes. Every time I eat at Pacific Table, I try something new and am pleasantly surprised. The combination of service, specials, and amazing Texas spring weather makes this a repeatable restaurant in my rotation. 1 Star.

My daughter split the chicken fried chicken and had more than enough to eat . We had fried green tomatoes as an appetizer and queso Blanco with Piccadillo. It was good. I had a house salad and it was not bland. It had tomatoes and cucumbers and cheese and candidied pecans. We were very happy with everything. It was a Friday afternoon and by the time we left, it started to get busy, but we had no problems getting a seat because the restaurant is very large. . DFW is massive. My friend was 30 mins late, but I wasn't trippin. I used that time to charge my phone and get a little work done. We didn't have a resy, but were seated right away. First of all, this place is massive. We both started with the espresso martini before realizing they had a happy hour menu. Our second drink was from the hh menu even though we had no business having a second cocktail. To start, we shared the fried green tomatoes. For whatever reason, we both ended up getting the western burger. Food was great. There was so much of it that I was only able to finish half and ended up taking the rest home. Great service as well. The place was crowded by the time we left. We only planned to stay for 45 minutes, but ended up staying for nearly 2 hours. Big thanks to the bartender. I went back to the airport a little tipsy after 2 drinks.

So I am thankful this places closes at 2:30AM!!! I ordered the Combo #2, market price was only $42.99, which came with snowcrab, 2 lbs of crawfish, sausage, potato, corn. That was a pretty good price for a Californian! The crawfish were okay, the sausage was really juicy and I enjoyed. The snow crab smelled like ammonia ong. I didn't expect much but they should really get on that. The sauce was brown and gritty and soo dang salty! This place was 10 minutes from DFW and open late so I got what I got. Strawberry Daiquiri was basically a strawberry syrup slush mocktail. The restaurant was connected to a food court it appears, and is pretty old and casual. The storage freezers were next to the dining tables. Would never come back for sure, but my server was really nice! I was about to order chocolate cake and homegirl advised me not to LOL!

I've never had oily ship, crab, and crawfish before and would not recommend. The crabs were just ok enough to eat but pay have been old judging from the color and feel of the shell. The crawfish just were not appealing for me, not only because of the oil it was basting in, but they were a little grey and some were actually DIRTY! And being from Louisiana, that's a huge no no. The shrimp had their head on and looked better than they actually were. The shrimp were entirely overcooked and would unravel as I removed them from the shell. Bottom line, don't waste your time here.

From the empanadas that are cheesy and meaty you could eat as a meal alone, to all the flavors of each sauce they offer is exceptional. The poblano sauce is so good, I'd like to get a job in the kitchen for the recipe. We also asked for a side of the mole sauce just to try, it was smoky, sweet, and the right amount of spices. The tacos remind me of the tacos I get in Mexico with the grilled pineapple and picked onions. The salsa offered with the chips is warm and I love that. Will definitely be a go to restaurant for me. I forgot to snap a picture but I'll list some things I tried: Empanadas- 10/10- a must order. Flavor, texture, and taste are all amazing. Molé enchiladas- the molé is so good- especially for Dallas since most places are Tex Mex and molé is more Mexican. Definitely order if this is in your "taste profile." Lunch specials- I don't even know if this is on their website but they have a great lunch menu and they have a lunch combo special where you can pick two items for $10.50 and it comes with rice and beans. I ordered the cheese enchilada and the mini chimichanga. Full disclosure I didn't eat the mini chimichanga because I didn't know it was covered in queso and I hate queso (unpopular opinion- I know). I loved the enchilada though and it had chili con carne sauce which was delicious. Rice and beans were also very good. Next time I'll just say no queso on the chimi. The restaurant is really tiny but cozy and you can tell it is family owned. Definitely will be a regular spot for me and will be back.
