What an experience! We walked in on a Wednesday night at 6:30 - table of 4. We were immediately sat by the hostess who was kind at a great table by the window with a river view! Our server, Jarred, was wonderful. He was attentive, kind & very helpful with suggestions as this was our first experience. We ordered the Southside 45 which was a Jameson Whiskey based drink and are you kidding me ?? Absolutely Delicious. And we ordered the Tito's Texas Tea. Holy heck that's good. For appetizer- we got the Range Rattlers. Hands down one of the best "Jalapeño poppers" I've ever had. Dinner we got: BBQ Ribs & shrimp - they were great. Meat was so flavorful it advertised as "fall off the bone" and they kept their word on that!! It sure did. The shrimp was delicious and grilled to perfection. But the French fries... awful. They were soggy yet crunchy ? Almost like they were under cooked then left to get soggy? Really interesting combo. Pats Ribeye w/ baked potato & Lobster Tail. Every single part of this was delicious. The ribeye was a perfect medium rare. Kids Mac n cheese plate - no complaints here!! Made them very happy!! But I ordered the Atlantic Salmon & baked potato. I can't say enough how excited I was for this and oh was I humbled. All 4 of us tried the salmon and it was truly underwhelming. The salmon had been cooked far too long- it was so beyond dry. The flavor was severely lacking. I really wanted to love it as I am a salmon kind of gal but we left without eating it. Still a great experience. Prices are what you would expect from a steak house. The family and I had dinner at Saltgrass Steak House last night on what was our last night in Laughlin. We didn't have a reservation and wanted to eat around 8 so the hostess told us to check in around 7:30. We only waited a few minutes to be seated. Our table was next to a window that looked out over the river....once you looked past the sidewalk and railing from the riverwalk. Our server, Joshua, arrived to take our order. He was great! We started off with drinks, the Mrs. ordered her usual and I had Saltgrass's Barrel Aged Manhattan. We ordered the fried mushrooms, which are a MUST if you dine at Saltgrass, and the fried onions. But he were very good. For my main dish I ordered the 8 ounce Wagon Boss Center-Cut Top Sirloin. It was perfectly seasoned and cooked a perfect medium rare. One of the best steaks I've ever had. The baked potato I had as my salad was perfect. The Mrs. ordered the Shrimp Duo which was fried and grilled shrimp. The fried shrimp had a Cajun batter that was flavorful and had some heat to it. She had the Smoked Macaroni and Cheese as her side and it was good. Despite the criticism of my daughter. My daughter also ordered the soup of the day which was potato. She said it had no flavor but the Mrs. and I thought it was good. Overall I was surprised at the quality of the food and service at Saltgrass considering it was part of the hotel. This has always been our go to restaurant for a great steak dinner when visiting Laughlin. Always five star service. But this time something went wrong. Was there this past Thursday and ordered steak medium well. When it came out it was medium rare at best. They took it back to cook a bit more and this time it came back medium, still too much red. Back it went back again and this time I think the chef/cook was pissed and it came back charcoal all the way through. At least the potato was good. They kept offering another baked potato as if that would make up for the bad cook. They did not charge for the steak but the evening for a great steak dinner was ruined. Hopefully this was a one off experience. Now to decide if to give them another chance the next time in Laughlin. read more

I was taking a solo getaway for a few nights to Laughlin because I needed a quick, cheap getaway, and I decided to eat dinner at my hotel (Golden Nugget). Saltgrass Steak House is downstairs on the lower level, and there was no wait for a solo diner like me at 5 pm on a Monday night. I was given a terrific small booth with a fantastic view of the Colorado River. I was there at just the right time, because I was able to watch the sun set over the desert. The decor is very dated and the atmosphere is very low key. I hope they consider renovating the restaurant sometime in the future, because a slightly classier vibe would be nice. The dress code is very casual, I saw lots of jeans and trucker hats as well as slightly nicer attire from old folks out on a date night (think Walmart khakis and tunics). The menu has been shortened in the COVID era (I think this is going to be a convenient excuse for many restaurants to offer less and charge more), but there were still plenty of things to choose from (burger, salad, steaks, seafood, appetizers, etc.). I really wanted a steak, so I went with the classic: a "Wagon Boss" sirloin. My steak was $25, which is a lot for a sirloin, but it was 10 ounces and came with a small loaf of honey wheat bread and butter, a side salad, and a side dish (I chose blistered garlic green beans). My steak was seasoned well and topped with butter, which is better than any steak sauce you could ever eat. The beans were crunchy and also well seasoned. I didn't need one thing with my food. The salad was probably my favorite part of my dinner, with chilled bowls and crunchy lettuce. The homemade salad dressing (I chose honey mustard) was tangy and not sweet at all, which I loved. I would seriously consider ordering a larger salad as my meal the next time I dine here. I loved that my server brought a sidecar carafe of iced tea. I never ran out, and I drank two entire carafes full. Both he and a manager checked on me multiple times during my meal. I sort of felt like I was being rushed towards the end, but I'm a very slow eater and it took me about 90 minutes from sit down to finishing my meal to paying my check. Service was quick and attentive, even when the restaurant started filling up. Almost every table was full when it got close to 6 pm, so take note if you don't want to have a long wait! read more

This was one of the greatest dinning experiences I've ever had. My wife and I each ordered a steak with sides different from each other and everything was perfect. The drinks came quick, followed by fresh bread and the entrees were shortly after. The steaks were cooked perfectly. This is my girlfriend's and I's first time eating at the Saltgrass Steak House in Laughlin Nevada and the experience was fantastic. We ordered the White Cosmopolitan and the Pomegranate Mojito for our drinks and they were well mixed, had balanced flavors, and tasted fantastic. For our appetizer we shared the Fried Mushrooms which were lightly battered and perfectly seasoned. For our entrees my girlfriend had gotten the filet (6oz) with the Cajun topping and they asparagus. The Cajun topping (with shrimp and crawfish) was extremely flavorful and the shrimp was cooked to perfection! Not to mention that the asparagus was seasoned and cooked well too and the filet was tender and a perfect mid-rare! As for me, I ordered the Bone-In Ribeye with the Smoked Mac (was delicious btw.). The ribeye had originally come out unevenly cooked which was a bummer... HOWEVER, Stephanie immediately made it right and was so sweet she even treated my girlfriend to dessert as well! Absolutely incredible service (the dessert was a homemade cheesecake that had so much flavor and the perfect texture for a baked cheesecake)! For those of you who have read my other reviews, you know by now that I have worked in restaurants for a long time and I notice the smallest of things... My wife and I vacation in Laughlin annually and eat dinner at Saltgrass Steak House once during every visit. We had a reservation for last evening. Our waiter, Omar, politely went throught the standard order taking which entailed entree, vegetable, soup or salad. We had a great meal as always UNTIL WE GOT OUR BILL. There was an added charge for a vegetable on the bill. When I brought this to Omar's attention, I was told that asparagus and sweet potato carried an extra charge. I told Omar that he did not mention this when taking our order and that a customer should be advised of additional charges at the time of ordering. The extra charge was not deducted from our bill. I am writing this review to let potential customers be aware of this tactic. We will not be going back to this restaurant during any future trips to Laughlin. read more

We were in Laughlin for the journey concert and wanted to steak. So we decided to give this place a try. It's been around for a while so it must be good. The steaks were delicious and perfectly cooked. The steak was a nice cut of meat. The salad was fresh and the ranch dressing was homemade with dill. I enjoyed it a lot. The baked potato was so so, it was cooked but had a sticky type texture. Hard to explain. The Mac and cheese was tasty and thankfully not the creamy type. The carrot cake was huge and tasty with a delicious cream cheese frosting. The service was attentive albeit sometimes slow. It's inside the golden nugget hotel. The inside has a desert cowboy feel. It is very loud and has the odor of old smoke. I will definitely comeback for sure and would definitely recommend it. read more

Great service and delicious food! We ordered two racks of ribs, the Porterhouse steak, fried mushrooms and the meals came with choice of salads and sides. We had their sweet potato fries, and garlic mashed potatoes as the sides. They also offer complimentary bread with honey butter, which was also delicious. The meat fell off the ribs perfectly, and the steak was cooked exactly how we wanted, medium rare. All the sides were also very tasty and cooked to perfection. Service was great! This is a chain of restaurants owned by Landry's which also owns the Golden Nugget property where its located. I made a reservation for 5 PM, but I was a little late. I had to wait for about 15 minutes form a table but it was worth it. I was shown to a window table with a wonderful view of the Colorado River, one of the reasons I like coming to Laughlin periodically. My server, Erick, soon appeared and took my iced tea order. When he came back, I asked about the appetizers on the menu. He suggested that the Range Rattlers as being a smalller starter. I ordered that and after he put the ordeer in, he came back for the meal order. He faiuled to tell me that all, entrées comer with soup or sald and a side. Had I known, I would have skipped the rattlers. I ordered the 8 ounce filet with French fries. The Range Rattlers are shrimp stuffed in jumbo jalapeños, with jack cheese, and cilantro and then battered and deep fried. They had a good kick to them and I really enjoyed this starter. It was then that I learned about the soup/salads starter with an entrée. I downsized from the 12 ounce strip steak I had planned on getting to the 8 ounce filet with fries. This would be more suitable after how much food the starter was. The main part of my meal started with chicken tortilla soup. It was very good. Pieces of avocado were on the the soup and there were many tortilla strips. The steak was cooked blue as I asked. There was a side of ranch dressing if you wanted to dip. The serving of fries was large and some went back as I had too much to eat by then. I did not order dessert. I had enough to eat by then so I took a pass and made up for it several hours later. Service was very good. The restaurant was quite crowded with a number of people waiting for their text that a table was ready. After this experience, I'll go to the Saltgrass at the Golden Nugget in Las Vegas. It's worth another go! read more

This is a tough review for me...the food is good. We really like going to Saltgrass as we feel it's the best place in town but tonight we observed something in the bar that just didn't seem right. The bartender set 5 seats aside so a party could sit together. That was fine except the party was not all present. We were told we could not sit in 3 seats reserved for the party of 5 that had not shown up. We were able to get two more seats a few minutes later but once we ordered and was almost done with our meal, finally the 3 others showed up. That was a complete waste of seating for paying customers. Didn't seem right to do that to other customers who were waiting for a seat at the bar. Maybe follow a rule of 10 minute wait and then if party not present, don't save the seats. So not cool. read more
