Usually go to one of the other Casino steakhouses and decided to give Saltgrass a try. Atmosphere is much more comfortable and relaxing for sure, but didn't have the same views. Prices were better at Saltgrass as well and can't complain about that. We loved the food and especially the service. The relaxed atmosphere allowed for some fun banter with the staff which made the night that much more fun. Will definitely make this a tradition for each trip back to the river and Laughlin. read more

There's no reason to be salty when you are at Saltgrass Steak House! I was looking for a good steakhouse while on a family vacation to Laughlin and between the Yelp reviews and personal recommendations from locals we decided to go to Saltgrass for dinner. They didn't have any reservations so we just showed up and got on the wait list with a party of five. It only took about 15-20 minutes for us to be seated and were lucky enough to get a table by the windows over looking the Colorado River. Once seated we were immediately greeted by our server who took drink and appetizer orders. The staff is very friendly and quite attentive, we never had to wait for drink refills or look around to get someone's attention but at the same time we were never bothered. I ordered a Bloody Mary and it was fantastic! It's very hard to find a good Bloody Mary at a restaurant but the ones at Saltgrass are on point! All of the appetizers looked great, but I had my eyes on the Range Rattlers...Jumbo Jalapeno stuffed with a Shrimp, Jack cheese and Cilantro served with onion straws and ranch. This was the ultimate popper and so good! It had a bit too much heat for my wife and daughter but absolutely perfect for me! Entrees were another difficult decision as there are so many delicious options to choose from, but it is a steakhouse so I had to go with a steak. My oldest daughter and I are huge carnivores and pretty picky when it comes to ordering steak out at a restaurant, but Saltgrass did not disappoint! My daughter got the 16oz Ribeye and I went for the 22oz Porterhouse. They were both cooked to perfection and had amazing flavor! For sides she got the garlic mashed and I went for the smoked mac-n-cheese...again both were awesome! Our meals also came with a salad or soup, I opted for salad and my daughter got the potato soup. My youngest daughter had the mini corn dogs and she said they were the best ever and ate every last one. My wife had the Caesar Salad and a bowl of Tortilla soup which were also perfect. After eating at several locations in Laughlin, this is by far the best. Not only for the service and food quality, but honestly the prices were quite fair for what you got. Next time you are in Laughlin, please treat yourself to Saltgrass Steak House. They have a wide variety of other options like fish and chicken too! I highly recommend this place and we will definitely make it a regular stop on our future trips to Laughlin. read more

Saltgrass is phenomenal! Located lower level at the Golden Nugget with friendly staff, attentive, clean with view and ambiance. Jimmy was our waiter this time and he was very prompt and helpful. We had a frozen crown/ coke with vanilla, range rattlers, ribeye and center cut steak along with lobster, salads and baked potatoes; very filling with a lot of leftovers. Highly recommend especially for special occasions and recommend calling ahead for reservation, then double check they have your reservation. My husband and his siblings had dinner here last cinco de mayo. We were promptly seated even if we didn't have any reservations. The ambiance is very cozy and relaxed. Our server was very friendly and explained everything since it was our first time. They serve home made beer bread while waiting for your order and it was very good that we finished it. The meal comes with soup or salad as well your choice of sides. I ordered the ribs and i really enjoyed it. It was very flavorful and tender that the meat easily fell off the bones. My husband ordered the country fried steak and he finished it too. The food taste like home cooked meal. The serving is also very generous. Enjoyed our anniversary dinner at Saltgrass Steakhouse. It was nice to see the restaurant as busy as it was! My husband and I decided to order the paired entrees. I had the top sirloin and grilled shrimp and my husband ordered the bacon-wrapped filet with grilled shrimp. Both steaks were cooked to perfection (the way we ordered them!). However, our grilled shrimp were over cooked. Our server, Jeanette, was very friendly and helpful. All in all, it was a nice dinner with the exception of the shrimp. Succulent steaks at Salt Grass. We were looking for a place to have a good meal in Laughlin and found this place on yelp. It's a great place to come for some steaks and a nice dinner with family and friends. Restrooms are located right outside of the restaurant and there is some seating available while you arr waiting. We were a party of 5. Our wait was roughly 45 minutes. They do a great job at providing you with an estimated wait time. There is a bar you can also sit at and enjoy some drinks while you wait. The service was great. Our server was friendly and attentive. He set a positive tone for the evening. Loved it! My daughter and I shared the New york strip woth mashed potatoes. This was a big, juicy steak cooked medium rare. Just the way we like it! It's a pretty big steak. The mashed potatoes were creamy and tasty. I also had some of the mac n cheese. Yum! Yum! Yum! Our entree also came with a fresh side salad. All in all this was an excellent experience all around. The price was reasonable, our server was awesome and the good vibe is contagious. We told her the story about not having been back there for a couple of years because of a bad experience there but now we are planning it being our Friday Date night go to place. Great place and nice western type atmosphere. Most seats have a great view of the river. I had the ribeye smothered with onions and mushroom and it was tasty and cooked perfectly. The bread and rice pilaf are same ole. I have enjoyed all steaks and will continue to come back to this one in Laughlin. It would be nice to see some open up in California. read more

For a chain steakhouse me and wife were presently surprised. We came in a Friday night at about 6 and it was packed. About a 40 min wait. However they do have a bar area with open seating and was able to get one when we arrived. All staff were very attentive and friendly. They checked on us regularly and service was pretty fast. Started with a drink. Got an old fashioned and will say the best one I've had at a restaurant. They even use luxardo cherries. Wife got a wine and liked it. Drinks were very reasonable. To eat I got the center cut sirloin with fried shrimp and baked potato. Wife got the filet mignon with grilled shrimp and baked potato. We also got a salad with our meal and a bread loaf prior to our food with a really good butter I think it's a honey butter. Both our steaks were cooked to perfect medium rare. The shrimp were also really good. Now don't get me wrong this is not Prime at Bellagio but for the price really happy. Would definitely go back and highly recommend. read more

We can't have our anniversary weekend in Laughlin without hitting Saltgrass. For some inexplicable reason we still can't get a straight answer on reservations. It seems that walk-in only on Friday and weekends, but they say you can do it on the other days. However, we arrived Thursday evening and were told no reservations for that day either. I dunno, I kinda give up on it. I stuck with my standard order and the wife got the Cajun Ribeye. Mine was just a tad overcooked this time, she was fine with hers. My taters were great, my pickles and peppers were great, my steak was fine. Her steak came with the tomatoes, shrimp, crawfish mess on top, and two shrimp on that. She took the shrimp off and tried the mess on top and was very much not pleased with that. I tried it too--I'll be honest, it was nasty. Just a sour mishmash of bad fishy flavor. Very, very distracting. Thankfully, she enjoyed the steak once that was off of it. But she was pretty drunk and an edible had kicked in, so that helped her enjoy whatever she put in her mouth. But not the tomato. Her two shrimp were overcooked to the point of being mushy, so that was another fail. So, while it's only a sample size of one, I would say definitely skip their seafood and stick with their steak. That's what they do well, let them do it. Our server was great, though! She enjoyed her amaretto sour w/pineapple. All I tasted was pineapple, but she liked the amaretto in it. I got the Southside 45 and it was OK, but the whiskey was fairly hidden behind the syrup and other flavors and I prefer a spirit-forward drink. It was sweeter than my preference as well, but I still love trying new ones and wasn't dissatisfied, just wasn't my thing. They might have held back, I made my own old fashioned in the room before coming down (OK, 2 of them) and decided to finish it in a couple gulps before sitting in case they made me toss it. And once he took our order it was hitting me pretty good (for which I apologized), so he might have had the bartender water it down for the lushes at our table. I don't know if that happened, so take my review for face value--if it sounds like your thing, go for it. If you are more spirit-forward and want to taste that whiskey along with the other flavors, maybe it's not your jam. read more

While visiting Laughlin we took are friends to dinner at the salt grass and it was delicious ! They were busy busy on a Saturday night no reservations but the waitlist was minimal like minutes! Hostess were all nice , our server was Jacob super friendly service spot on ! Started with cocktails and a round of rattlers. Yum We all ordered different steaks and all cooked to perfection. I had the filet med rare with crab cake soooo good. Side of Mac n cheese super good. Green beans are delicious as well. They ordered 2 steaks with shrimp and a Cajun steak. The food and service were fantastic. I ordered the ribeye and green beans, both amazing. The waiter was super tentative and very polite. The dining room had a cool laid back vibe, there are tv's throughout the restaurant which was just what we were looking for since we were wanting to watch a huge playoff game and we got to sit right in front of one of the tv's. There were a lot of other fans in the restaurant cheering during the game so what wasn't cool was that the table next to us decided they needed to tell us to keep it down when literally the entire restaurant was invested in the game and cheering as well. My husband decided to make Mothers Day reservations. We arrived when they opened. Service was the worst ever. Server made excuses about it being so busy. Tables empty. People left their table. That should of been a sign. We are laundry members as well. Three managers on duty and they didn't seem to care either. Food subpar and we paid cash gave a nice tip for the gal that worked a holiday. We didn't get a receipt, never gave me my points and we left never to go there again. Chilis does a better job and the bill isn't quite as large. Using Mothers day as an excuse when you just open. Shame on your service Salt Grass. Ps. we ordered drinks. One of us ordered a bloody mary.
