We came for dinner early on a Saturday night. Like always, we made a reservation. Like always, we didn't need it. I got the chicken I always get, and it was strong as usual. Green beans were fine, but maybe not as good as they typically are. The chicken tortilla soup is good as well. My daughter got the salmon again and liked it. She tried the Romano potatoes and was surprised at what it looked like when it came out. Covered in cheese and what she thought looked like bacon, she wondered if the potatoes were actually as low calorie as they appeared to be on the menu. On the last visit, we had the asparagus as a side. It was huge and delicious. We ordered it again as a side this time, not realizing that the $3.39 menu charge is only the up charge if you replace another vegetable. If you want to add it onto the rest of your meal, they charge you $7. It doesn't mention this anywhere on the menu. The asparagus were rather scrawny and not nearly as good as last time. I mentioned what I thought was a mistake in the bill. The waiter left to talk to the manager, and he was gone a long time. Eventually the manager came to talk to me. She agreed that the menu could be written better, and she made a change on the bill, so we were only charged $3.39 instead of $7. All that said, with the asparagus not as great as it was last time, I'm not sure I'd get it for the substitution, much less as a more expensive side addition. Service was good for the most part. I would not recommend this restaurant to anyone. At best the food and service was ok. Furthermore, after checking the card on my card, this business has conducted fraud and stolen from me. They decided they deserved a LARGER tip. I have hard evidence of the original charge, guest copy and merchant copy as I took a picture of all 3 side by side in one capture. If you eat here, check your charge afterwards. The employees and business here has a history of stealing and tipping themselves more than approved in writing. There are no proper checks or controls here, obviously no one validates theft or fraud is occuring. In other restaurants, it is ACCEPTED NORMAL practice for the manager or an independent party to verify all check amounts entered. Hungry Hungry Jojo after inspecting 3 houses and I happened to have a Saltgrass gift card!! Late lunch crowd? Early dinner? It was 3:00 pm and I didn't care. Feed me!! Front row parking spot and fairly empty restaurant usually means I get all the attention!! Our delightful server Rae was also covering the bar and was very helpful. We had bottomless brewed ice tea!! Yum! I ordered the Laredo chicken and it was slightly overcooked but very tasty and covered in a myriad of vegetables including avocado, sautéed onions, poblano pieces, feta cheese and tomatoes. The smoked macaroni and cheese was not good so I sent it back to be replaced with some amazing french fries instead. All in all it was an enjoyable meal. Oh. Their whipped butter was tasteless crap. We came with the whole family mid week and had fantastic service. We have some allergies in the group so we had a lot of questions and the waitress was not only polite and understanding, she knew most of the answers already. She specified if it was a sauce or cooking process so we could choose in some instances. Then she followed up by accommodating all of our requests to a T plus some. I got a filet with Brussels sprouts and it was good. Brussels sprouts were roasted and with a sweet chili sauce and it was yum. The steak was not amazing but it was cooked perfectly. It was not loaded with spices and I actually added salt which to me was just right! I tried a lot of other foods at the table: kids burger with sub side of green beans and they were good too! The sweet potato fries, were thin and long and not greasy or salty either. The menu is too big--trying to hard with all the chain seafood combos, but the service was great. We are long time customers and tonight it was an interesting dining experience. There was an issue with our reservation, it was their error. No apologies, no comp of any kind was offered , the female manager seemed stand offish and sat us quickly and abruptly, she snatched up the extra table settings laid the menus on the table and left. However we both had to stand up from our chairs to reach across the table to retrieve our silverware. When I went to picked up the menu it stuck to the table, at first I thought the table was dirty but upon inspection it's the varnish coating had worn off so the laminated menus stick like glue to the table. The waitress was ok until she brought our salads and tried to use the salad plate in her hand to push the bread plate on the table aside so she could put the salad down. The bread plate stuck to the table and wouldn't move, we had to move the bread plates ourselves. When we were done with our salads we moved it off to the side. The main entree arrived, everything looked good and the waitress said she would check back after she dropped off bread to another table. We literally had our knife and fork in our hands and were making the first cut into our yummy looking steaks when she came back to our table and wanted to remove the bread and salad plates and asked us to pass them to her. We put our utensils down, picked up our dishes and handed them to her. At that point I was slightly annoyed. Our steaks were delicious, but we noticed the female bus person placed the dirty bus tub on a chair, wipe off the table then use the same rag to wipe off the salt and pepper shakers. The employee picked up the tub, pushed the chair back in. She did not wipe off the seat! We watched her do this again as she cleared off a booth, the dirty tub was placed on the bench seat and did not wipe off the seat. The same rag was used repeatedly. We completely understand how hard it is to get good quality people but it also is up to management to observe what is going on and to intervene, continue training and uplift the employee with confidence. Should've put in for a reservation. Just didn't think of it. With the number of tables opened I found it a bit odd we weren't seated immediately. Regardless, the hosts were nice enough to keep us posted. After about 30 minutes we were seated. Our group was getting borderline hangry. I know getting an awesome waiter/waitress is luck of the draw and we got Gracie. She was beyond amazing! Our table was thirsty for water and Dr Pepper and she ended up bringing a carafe of each to keep our thirst quenched for the duration of our meal. As a quick side note, I hope they cancel the chicken tortilla soup. What was brought out was a transliteration of what they know as chicken tortilla soup. It's just not good at all. If we could do it over again we would get a salad. 5 out of 6 people said it was disgusting and the 6th person didn't order it. I ordered the Cajun ribeye... again the Cajun topping is a no go. They charge $9.95 for it. It's just not worth it. Better than the chicken tortilla soup but for what you get, that's a negative Batman. Gracie did a great job accommodating our table and magically popping up when we were merely thinking about asking her for miscellaneous condiments. Saltgrass is a nice steakhouse with good views and on the lower end as far as pricing goes. We have come here a few times, including a visit for Restaurant week. The only drawbacks are that service has been slow both times, but this place is always packed, and the tables in the evening hours that are near the West wall get so hot and uncomfortable. Otherwise, the quality of food is great and we love the variety of cocktails at this place. I highly recommend the salmon! read more

Our group visited Saltgrass Steakhouse to enjoy the special Restaurant Week menu. Even though we had a reservation, we were asked to wait so we sat at the bar. Both bartenders were friendly and welcoming and the bar menu was very large. In the dining room, the food was good and service was well paced if not a little rushed up front when we ended up with all our appetizers, salads and entrees on the table at the same time. Because there were three of us we decided to order different appetizers so we could try more of them. We had the fried mushrooms - which initially had to be sent back because they were so cold. The second time they came out piping hot and very tasty. We also had the queso fresco and the Range Rattlers which were both very average. Our dinner salads were large and fresh and the bread service was just ok. Our entrees included the 12 oz smothered rib eye and the cowboy filet which was a 6 oz filet and grilled shrimp. I had asked for a loaded baked potato for my side and it came out with only cheese and bacon but that was fine. The friend who had the filet had asked that the butter be served on the side and when it wasn't, our server took her whole plate away and came back with a plate containing the steak and a cup of butter with the shrimp stuck in it. She ended up wiping the butter off the shrimp with her napkin. There were things the kitchen could have done better but our server, Delaney, tried to make everything right. A manager did stop by our table but breezed off before we could actually tell her anything. For dessert we had the chocolate cake with ice cream, a very small slice of strawberry cheesecake, and the carrot cake. The carrot cake was the stand out and I highly recommend it. We noticed the table next to us received large pieces of the cheesecake but by that point we were so full there was no point in mentioning the discrepancy. (First world problems!) Saltgrass Steakhouse is a fun place with lots of options and dependably good food. It has the feel of eating at your Aunt's house - homey. I would definitely go back - if only to sample more of the delicious sounding side dishes (and get more of that carrot cake). read more

Not very impressive. This is a typical large chain steak house restaurant that is crowded. The food does not match the amount of people waiting and dining there. The service was decent and friendly. It's a noisy environment but that's expected on a weekend night. A chicken dish that was definitely not worth 25.00 bucks, steaks that were not that great. We visit Salt Grass now and then, as it's a bit of a drive for us, but a family favorite. Over the past couple of years they seemed to be headed downhill, from customer service, food quality to upkeep...BUT this visit was just the opposite. We were greeted right away, seated where we chose and visited by our server quickly. She was happy, hard working and a joy! Our food was delicious, her suggestions spot on and our overall experience outstanding. Still a couple things in the restaurant that could be updated and cleaned, but this visit was really memorable. Dined at Saltgrass Steak House yesterday for lunch and the restaurant wasn't too busy since we got there when they opened. Reservations not needed, but could see you needing reservations for dinner. I ordered a cheeseburger medium it was grilled perfectly. Plenty of melted cheese on it which made it so enjoyable. My dining companion had a house salad with homemade blue cheese dressing. The country fried steak was crunchy outside and steak nice and juicy on the inside. Our server was great. She never needed to ask if we needed refills , she just took the initiative and brought them. The Westminster location in my opinion is better than the Parker location. I went to the park location for the first time yesterday and the portions were very small and I didn't get all my food as far as the toppings a true letdown. I will stick with the Westminster location for sure. read more

It appears there are plenty of good reviews but mine won't be one of them. I ordered a NY Strip which was the best thing I had but just average and not warm enough. The baked potato was slightly underdone and not hot like you would expect. My spouse had shrimp that looked as if they were not cooked together. 4 were burnt & 4 looked undercooked. But what they had in common was they were all cold, tough & chewy and not good at all. Also, the sweet potato fries were cold as if they were sitting for a long time before being served. This is my go to place when craving a perfectly cooked steak with a fresh salad and the best Caesar dressing in town. I can also highly recommend their flash fried green beans. I don't eat fried foods. I don't think these beans qualify for "fried" but they do qualify for perfectly cooked, crisp and flavorful. The service here never fails, always excellent and friendly. Our table wasn't ready when we arrived, so we grabbed seats at the bar while we waited. The bartender was friendly, quick to offer us water, and happy to chat. Despite it being a busy Saturday night, service was fairly quick. The restaurant has a nice, open, and casual feel. We visited during Restaurant Week, which was a great deal--$35 for an appetizer, salad, entrée, and dessert. My gal pals and I shared the Fried Mushrooms, Range Rattlers (fried jalapeños stuffed with cheese and shrimp), and Queso Fresco with chips. The mushrooms were cold when they first arrived, but the staff promptly replaced them with hot ones. Everything was decent, but nothing particularly standout. The salads were fresh and generous, and the steaks were cooked perfectly (all nice and pink). I ordered the Urban Cowboy (6 oz. filet topped with lemon butter and shrimp) and asked for the butter on the side. Unfortunately, it came with the butter on top. The server quickly replaced it, but the shrimp--meant to be on the steak--was sitting in the pot of butter. Since I couldn't find the server, I ended up using a bunch of napkins to remove the excess butter. For dessert, we split the cheesecake, chocolate cake, and carrot cake. All were good, (although the cheesecake was 1/3 the size of the slice at the table next to us) but the carrot cake was definitely the standout. Came in tonight with wife and son and Georgia was our waitress. First off, she was fantastic, warm, friendly and told us about the menu etc. my son had a pomegranate mojito that was fantastic and she brought a loaf of bread. We ordered rib eye steaks, steak and wedge salad, chopped steak smothered in this wonderful mushroom, onion cognac gravy with loaded baked potato and another Moscow mule. Well, 2 years later and another Saltgrass review. We were excited to see pork chops on the menu again. They were pretty much inedible and wound up in the trashcan. There was so much seasoning on them that they were almost sandy and way too salty. They were literally orange. My mom's mashed potatoes were overly salty, too. I get this is SALTgrass, but no. Such a shame because the meat was cooked properly. I will say that the salad and baked potato were spot on and very good. I wish online ordering (we ordered directly through the website) had a "no salt" or "no seasoning" option. I did write "no salt" in the "If you need utensils/napkins/condiments" request box. read more

Despite being quite crowded, experienced great food and service. Hadn't eaten here in years, but received a coupon for birthday so decided I missed a good steak. Smothered T bone ordered medium to medium well was cooked perfectly for my taste. Super tender and juicy, could taste the grill and smoky wood fire. Delicious! Family also enjoyed their rib eye and two country fried steaks. Service was excellent as well. The crew at this restaurant is amazing. We had reservations for a large group of wrestlers and our plans changed, requiring us to shift our reservations up by two hours.
