Great shrimp cocktail! Among the best I've ever had! Fried mushrooms also excellent, juicy and tasty! Also great crab cakes with lots of meat! The entrées was alright. This review is solely based on to-go orders from the online portal. I've ordered from numerous Saltgrass locations. I have found this specific location does a great job of preparing the order correctly. I typically order grilled chicken breasts or salmon (or both). Customers always seem to like it. The three sides I typically order are mashed potatoes, green beans, and mac & cheese. You get to choose two in the family packs. You also can order either a Caesar salad or dinner salad w/choice of dressing. I'm typically ordering for pickup during the early lunch hour. They are really good about having it ready when requested. I order online and pay in the restaurant so I can get my LSC points. My one complaint when ordering online is there is very limited space for comments. I typically have to request serving utensils while I'm in the restaurant simply because I run out of characters in the online portal. This is no fault of the restaurant but should be addressed by Landry's corporate offices. Bottom line - Good service and good food when ordering online. Probably the best service I have received all year long at any restaurant. After receiving my meal a different waiter approached us and asked if we had food restrictions, he noticed my wife in a headscarf, and then proceeded to inform me that the smoked Mac n cheese had bacon fat. I was relieved to find this out before even starting to eat. He took the side away and asked me if I wanted something else and I'm glad I said the baked potato. By the way the kids Mac n cheese is permissible in Islam. Another member of the kitchen crew came to bring out the replacement sides and apologized for the mistake even though there was none. A third member of the staff came by and asked how everything g was....If you make your customer feel special boy what a wonderful world this can be. Well this place nailed it and the food was also very tasty. I had the prime rib 12pz and got it well done, and Ofcourse replaced the smoked Mac n cheese with a baked potato as mentioned earlier. The Caesar salad was not as crispy as I like it to be but also not wilted and soggy. All in all the food was good and service was great and the restrooms were nice and tidy Glad we stopped by here during the band competition at the challenger stadium. I've never been the biggest fan of Saltgrass Steakhouse but it's a good place to enjoy a dinner. I love Salmon and I've tried so many salmon in a lot of restaurants and the salmon here was very disappointing. It was hard to cut and didn't have much flavor to it. The only flavor it had was a garlic butter. My husband's meal was very good, I am glad he enjoyed his dinner! The service was okay. 7/10 recommend. read more

We decided to try this location after trying the one on the Kemah boardwalk and of course not on the same day. Let me tell you, I highly recommend this location over Kemah. The food tasted amazing, and our server Kelly gave us the best service we have received in a while, and he made some recommendations that we went with. He really made our Anniversary dinner a great one with the excited of coming back. I honestly didn't want to do Saltgrass again after we tried Kemah, but I'm glad I said yes to my hubby. The atmosphere was so great, food came out quick it was hot and tasted fresh. Our server, Kelly, continued to check on us throughout our entire visit. My husband and I have been coming to Salt Grass for years. Everything we've had is always good. Service is always good. The wait is not very long, depending what time you go eat. You can call ahead and reserve a place in line. They have a good happy hour. They have small healthy portions that they will cook to your liking if you are trying to lose weight. The menu has many options to chose from: hamburgers, steaks, chicken, soup, salads and much more. The restaurant is always clean. The restrooms are clean. They have a rewards card that gives you $25 the month of your birthday and every $250 you spend you get $25, which is not a bad deal. The prices are reasonable. If you go in the evening and want to share the food is enough to share a plate, otherwise you'll have leftovers for the next day. I recommend going and getting your steak from SaltGrass. I know this Saltgrass location rates a 3.5 on YELP, but that rating was well above my visit last Saturday night. One of the worst experiences I have ever had at a restaurant. It took an hour for our meal to arrive, my filet was stone cold and the potato lukewarm. I should have eaten it before they brought me another sloppily put together plate that had a tough tiny steak that was more grissle than meat. I simply didn't eat and they wanted to know what they could do to make it right. WHAT CAN YOU DO AT THIS POINT? Waiting over an hour, starving, mad - there was absolutely nothing left to try. They did however serve another couple who sat next to us. The next time you want to be utterly disappointed with a meal, this is the perfect place to go. From the absentee servers, to the cold food and (5)steaks cooked under temp, this meal is the most disappointing meal I have had in a LONG time. I had placed a one star review over a problem that happened within two weeks I was contacted from corporate. They asked me for my phone number and they had the local Webster location manager Elizabeth call me. My friend and I actually went right back to eat there because it's a wonderful restaurant still our top favorite we met with Elizabeth she was caring she listened. She was concerned she addressed the issue and we are so so happy. It's really nice to have them respond to a bad review and take it from a one star to a five star plus. Saltgrass steakhouse remains to be our top notch local restaurant since the review and speaking with Elizabeth we have already been there three more times especially on Thanksgiving day and we plan to continue the food. I was given a dirty place mat, hastily wiped off and thrown back in front of The smell at the bar area was horrible, I can't pinpoint what it is, but it was a rotting foul odor. Four of us visiting the area on a girls trip. We all wanted a good steak. From past experiences at Saltgrass locations on Texas and Louisiana we decided this was a good bet. We were not disappointed. All four steaks cooked perfectly To each specification. Sides of loaded baked potatoes or sweet potatoes or fries were great and house salads and Caesar salads were yummy. I eat at this location quite a bit, but this visit, in particular, was a great experience. The food was fantastic and the temperature was comfortable. I like especially how the fireplace was turned on with the temperature being cooler than usual outside. My waiter Daniel B. provided outstanding service. I go out to eat at many higher-end restaurants and he knows how to take care of his guests. Took my nephew for lunch and we both decided on the CFS - his with flash fried green beans and mine with fries. I had the Caesar salad and he had the potato soup. We both felt the CFS (chicken fried steaks) were small, tough and bland...more breading than steak. CFS is supposed to be tender and flavourful with gravy. The grean beans, soup, and salad were tasty. The waiter or the cook gave me mashed potatoes instead of fries. Nothing that was supposed to be hot was hot. My boyfriend and I went on a week day night and called in advance to make a reservation. We arrived 10 mins before our scheduled time and were told we had to wait for another 15 mins but we were sat within 5. Entering our dining area the seating seemed a bit close to other tables and I immediately noticed that another table was seated exactly beside us. Our waitress Zoey was very friendly and although I could tell she had just gotten triple sat she handled our drinks and orders very promptly. We ordered a whiskey cocktail and a frozen crown and coke. The frozen drink came out very quickly but the cocktail came out right before our salads. We each had a Cesar salad and the dressing was properly seasoned but not very cold. We also each ordered a steak smothered with mushrooms and onions. Each was cooked properly but the smother had a little bit of a sweet taste. Over all it was a pleasant experience compared to our last which was not very good. Glad to see that it was an improvement. The range rattlers are very good. The onions strings are lightly fried. The rattlers are fried with stuffed jalapeños Monterey Jack cheese and large gulf shrimp. -(HOT) My mouth and head is sweating but I will be alright. I ordered the filet and cake (crab) with two grilled shrimp. The Salad with Italian dressing was great. The croutons were lightly fried and easy on the gums and teeth. My filet was juicy and seasoned perfectly. My crab cake was cold and had to be replaced. The baked potato seemed over cooked as if it had been sitting. I didn't return it... I should have made sure when I orders it, I should have changed the toppings and had the green onions removed. Service was great-- food ok. read more
