    Vol burger
    Tony J.

What a cool place! Locally owned burger joint. This place is like being transported back into the 80s. They only take cash and they yell your order over a speaker back to the kitchen, then call you up when your food is ready. Got the Vol burger. Fries were awesome! Burger was too! Love this place! You can't be in a bad mood there!

Classic Burger Joint! This may be one of the oldest locally owned restaurants in Knoxville! And I see why! We got there when they opened on a weekday to beat the crowds. First thing... this is cash only! Second, you order up front, then you find a table and then they yell out your name or something else about you (be careful what you say about yourself at the counter when you order) to come pick it up! Then after you eat you pay when you leave! I got a Cheese Steak, which was pretty good. And others got the Vol Burger. Next time that's what I'm going to get. I also got Onion Rings which were very good. Then, freshly made Banana Pudding... dang... that was sooo good! The serve was amazing! If you live close by what are you waiting for, if you are here visiting or going to a game you must stop in!

My spouse ordered the popular tasty Vol Burger which is a good deal for $10.99 as it comes with cheese, tomatoes, lettuce, a pickle and French fries at no extra charge. Piled high on a brown bun with corned beef, Swiss cheese, sauerkraut and Thousand island dressing, my Reuben for $9.99 was equally tasty. It also came with a pickle spear. Sodas cost $2.99 each. A small sign posted on the window reads Cash and Checks Only, so that's the drawback especially when a majority of folks carry only debit and credit cards. However, a lone ATM sits inside the front door for those without "green" in their wallets. The atmosphere is casual with plenty of seating in orange "booths," and the walls are filled with UT memorabilia and several tvs that broadcast college sports.

I have lived in Knoxville for 8 years now. I can't believe I I just found this place. This little dinner is Best kept secret. From the atmosphere in the friendly staff members I can't believe this place doesn't have a line around the door. Truly a family diner because they know almost everybody walking on the door. They're known for their cheeseburgers but I decided to get a rib eye sandwich made to order. So big I have to take half of it with me. Best thing I tasted in a long time so good. My daughter had chicken fingers and they were just as good as the ribeye. When my daughter was done with her dinner the manager or owner I'm not sure gave my daughter a candy bar. This is truly my new favorite place.

They can split your burger in half, if you'd like.

Want a great burger? Stop in here! Make sure to order the delicious VOL burger. Walk in and order what ya want. The guys here are so friendly, busy place at lunch time but they know how to serve a crowd. The onion rings here are soooooo good!! Get em' You won't be sorry. Bring your cash...cash only!! Highly recommended.

This is one of my favorite sandwich/burger places in Knoxville and easily my favorite in the Farragut area. It's tucked in a shopping center called Aspen Square. This place is usually packed around lunchtime, the walls filled w/ UT Vol memorabilia, you get a homey comfy welcoming vibe from the moment you walk in. One of the owners Johnny usually mans the counter, with his surfer look and his Greek heritage, he's sure to make you smile. You order at the counter, then when they have your food ready they call out what you ordered, then you pay when you finish eating. The things I love here are: Vol Cheeseburger Special, Steak in a Sack, Hoagie, Philly Cheesesteak, Onion Rings & I always get extra pickles! I love this place and have loved Sam & Andy's since I was a kid. If you find yourself in the Farragut area and are craving a sandwich, go check them out, it's 100% worth it, and you may have to take half of your food home like I do sometimes. Also they are CASH ONLY, but they have an ATM inside in case you don't have any cash. Hope you love this place as much as I do! Cheers & Enjoy!

The Original SAM & ANDY'S from the Cumberland Strip. Now on Kingston Pike between Lovell Road and Concord Road.

Wonderful Reuben! Also enjoy the grilled chicken salad. Sometimes it comes with a deviled egg.

In the past, I have ordered their pimento cheeseburger. I've also tried several chicken dishes, but every once in a while I want a hamburger. Over the couple of years we've been going to Parkside Grill, I've ordered the pimento cheeseburger three times, including today. Only one of those times did I not send it back. I prefer my red meat cooked completely well done no red at all. Not medium well, but fully well done. This is an almost $18 dish. The second time I ordered it, I sent it back and requested a new burger because I do not like knowing that the same burger was simply sent back to be cooked longer with all the pimento cheese and toppings already on it. Today, I reluctantly ordered it again because I was really craving a burger. I made it very clear to our waiter, Michael, that the cooks could "hockey puck" it as long as there was absolutely no red. Unfortunately, once again it came out medium well. My husband and I informed the waiter, and he offered to send it back to be fixed. He also apologized. He also said it it busy and there have been a few things that have gone wrong already. However, the last time that happened, my husband had already finished his meal by the time my food returned. At that point, I asked for a box so I could take it home and cook it myself. I ended up only eating the fries and bacon. That was my $18 meal. I boxed up the burger, left it on the table untouched, and thought to myself that I will not be returning again.

We took a table in the bar area where one side is booth seating and the other a standard chair. The smaller tables could make it challenging for the different boards they serve but we managed just fine. We split the uncle Koli's happy hour portion of nachos and they were exemplary - layers of cheese and meat and fresh avocado drizzled with a unique barbecue sauce and sour cream were absolutely delicious. For mains we split a taco board and wedge salad. The portions are generous and our taco board had some really tasty steak that was well seasoned and cooked to order. They nailed the perfect medium rare and all the accoutrements were very fresh and rounded out the board nicely. 10/10 presentation. The wedge salad was a unique twist in using romaine lettuce instead of typical iceberg and again it was all very fresh and quite delicious. We finished our meal with a shared bourbon banana pudding and the only criticism was they favored presentation over palate in having the Nilla wafers floating on top so they were very crunchy rather than submerged in the amazing mix of pudding and whipped cream. I can't fault them though, look at the pictures attached - beautiful plating all the way around. I'd be remiss if I didn't mention the star of our visit - Allie was our server in the bar evening and she managed to keep our drinks filled, answered questions and did everything with a remarkable attitude and friendly disposition. We'll definitely be back and if you're in the mood for farm to table grub in Knoxville don't miss Point B!

First dinner in Knoxville and Point B did not disappoint! Shoutout to our server Brandon who took extremely good care of us and even remembered each of our names after checking our ID's for drinks. For apps we started with the crab rangoon dip and guacamole. The crab dip didn't have a lot of crab but it was cheesy, warm, and paired perfectly with the wonton chips. The guacamole was good, but the chips could've used some salt. Entree wise the shrimp and grits was great, but it was the smallest amount of grits I've ever gotten in a dish. The shrimps were cooked perfectly though. In general the entrees looked smaller than other restaurants but felt it was the perfect size to not be overly full. We ordered all three desserts and they were all yummy in their own way. I love banana pudding, this one had a kick of bourbon. The panna cotta wasn't too heavy on the coconut flavor and was creamy. The beignets were warm and so good as well! If I were in the area I would definitely be back for brunch!
