The menu is simple and Lily, our amazing server, added helpful comments. Very laid back vibe with multiple seating options to accommodate 1, 2 or 8 - and owners Millie (the bartender) and Illya (sp.) chef would def accommodate larger parties. Millie's spicy margarita was delish, and the tacos are the real deal - the fish taco I had was drool-worthy‼ The wings were juicy and uniquely spiced - perfect appetizers with the limed margaritas. Once inside, we were promptly seated and greeted by our server, Meghan, who brought chilled water and took our drink orders: a Dos Equis Lager and a Down East Cider. A generous basket of chips and salsa followed -- crisp, flavorful, and just the right start. For lunch, we each ordered the Tres Tacos: Carne Asada, Carnitas, and Pollo Elotes. Each taco was distinct and delicious, with house-made spicy pickles adding a perfect kick. Meghan was attentive and knowledgeable, gracefully assisting other tables while making us feel well cared for. The interior was warm, inviting, and thoughtfully designed -- a lovely place to linger. We're already looking forward to returning when it's warm to dine beneath that magnificent tree.

I always eat a meat burrito and it is cooked to perfection for me. Not too runny, not too cooked. The people that work here are super nice and fun to talk to. Although I haven't been yet, they host parties on weekend nights and karaoke nights as well. If I didn't work early each day I would totally join in! I highly recommend more people try this place out!

I also watched an employee behind the bar wipe her nose with her hand and then continue slicing citrus barehanded. The chicken empanadas were good but not particularly special. We also had one of the small pizzas, which was the best thing of the night, crispy and flavorful (with a little char at the edges, which we like). The decor is a little bananas (different shades of green between the walls, the napkins, the barstools, and the banquettes; five kinds of lighting fixtures; lots of sound and lighting items with exposed, hasty-looking wiring). The bathroom door doesn't really close and lock properly. And the restaurant is really loud, even half full. The writing on the menu, about family members and special recipes, tells me that there's pride here and real care about making a good restaurant. However, without the attention to detail (particularly cleanliness and hygiene!), that's kind of moot. Three stars instead of two here because the pizza was good and the staff obviously care about customers.

We rarely indulge in dessert but we were convinced to try the homemade Tiramisu and it was amazing, just the way I make it myself. It's very hard to find a Tiramisu that is so authentic. We absolutely recommend Tumi, based on our experience it would be had to make a bad decision from their menu.

The podium on the riser was visible scratched, nicked and dinged. There was one bartender for 150+ guests and they were apparently short staffed. P.S. If you're planning an event there, beware. I was here for a two day conference…read more Given what I experienced, I would not book this hotel for a vacation getaway. For what it needed to be for this conference- it sufficed. I know this hotel has been undergoing changes and renovation so I will keep my eye on the reviews to see if anything improves. The good- the food. Lunch, dinner and breakfast were all buffet were to my surprise was pretty good. I had limited interactions with the staff so cannot comment there. I will say we had a fire alarm go off (I get it), and we were told although the firefighters couldn't find the source, they (the hotel) would keep an extra eye on things and be diligent in our wing. Fifteen minutes later- the alarm in my room started chriping (assumed it was the battery). Called the front desk from the room phone 3 times over 15 minutes- no answer. Called the main number of the hotel from my cell phone and the front desk picked up. They sent maintenance, who stood on the vanity bench from the bathroom to reach the ceiling and change it. In contrast, one of the other room (I was a chaperone for a large group)- their maintenance person put a plastic bag and duct tape over the fire alarm. The bed was comfortable. While our shower was clean, two of the other rooms had bugs in the shower. One room had yellow water from the faucet. At this point it was very late so we had the kids shower in other rooms. Our shower had the overspray on the wall tiles from when they repainted the bathtub. Floors are worn and dust and dirt under the bed. No screens on the sliding door. Two bottles of cheap shampoo and one bar of soap were given - Luckily I brought my own. Now the electrical outlets- none of them could charge a cell phone other than the ones in the bathroom. Multiple chaperones reported the same. When unplugged in the charger, it literally fell out of the wall. And the outlet next to the bed- the switch plate was broken and the outlet was ready to fall out all together. Can't comment on the pool but the kids seemed to enjoy it. Everything else is just... worn and tired and dated and if redone it was not redone well. I would not call this a "resort". Conference center it was.
