    Lobster leftover

My friend wanted to enjoy seafood so she ordered Pacific Geoduck 象拔蛑,lobster, frog pot rice, sweet and sour pork and Chinese greens. Geoduck is buy 1lb get 1 lb free but the edible slices came out very little. The head was cooked with salt and pepper which is fine but could be boney. Lobster steamed in fresh garlic was a good size and tasted very fresh and tender. Sweet and sour pork was very tender and delightful. Chinese greens were chewable too. Thumbs down for frog pot rice : very little frog and the taste was overwhelmed by the sausages thrown in there. But FuXing did a thumbs up job with the seafood. I forgot to take the pics until after.

3/25/2026 Daily Lunch Special (11am-5pm) Menu changed. No more $9.99 dishes :/ They took the 9.99 sticker off of the menus. But this place still allow lunch specials call in take-out (soup not included); brush up on your mandarin or canto when ordering to go. Still probably the best out of the cheapest lunch specials around; Great for seniors and outsiders but I think most 626/SGV wouldn't like this place even at a cheaper price. Taste of MP is better quality but their lunch special starts at $14.99 and don't allow call in take-out. Lunch Special 11am-5pm includes soup, rice and tea. For two ppl, we ordered some of the same items this time. And have enough leftover for dinner and next day snack. $11.99 Kung Pao Chicken was mild spicy. $11.99 Chicken and String Beans. Not bad. String beans are not stir fried $13.99 Beef and Bitter melon was okay too.

Good value in their lunch special offerings. Good walnut shrimp and stir fry items. Don't expect much on the decor here but you will definitely get good value on your food.

Visited: October 2025. Friday ~12:00pm. Wait Time: None. I was seated immediately as there were only a few other patrons. The food came out ~15 minutes after I ordered. Food/Drink: I ordered off the lunch menu, which comes with soup and white rice. The soup was average. I appreciated being served a full pot of rice even though I was dining alone. The entree portions were generous and I had enough leftovers for several meals. I drank hot tea which they serve by default. - Salt and Pepper Fish ($15.99): Crispy and flavorful. - Salt and Pepper Squid ($15.99): Same as above. I was pleased that the dish included both the squid body and tentacles. Service: Good. There was a language barrier, so they double/triple checked that my order was correct. They boxed up my leftovers for me without me even asking! Parking: There's a parking lot with ample spots. However, it's connected to the 99 Ranch Market lot, so I wouldn't be surprised if people use the restaurant-side parking for overflow during peak hours. Next Time: I'll be back to order the same items, plus I'd like to try the udon and vermicelli dishes.

Classic Chinese banquet-style spot that delivers exactly what you hope for. The menu is built for sharing, with big round tables and a lazy Susan piled high with dish after dish. Everything came out family style so get ready to share and spin the table! The dishes were well-seasoned, generous in portion, and clearly made to be enjoyed together. The salt and pepper pork chops were one of my favorites. They were crispy, flavorful, and a definite highlight of the meal. Service was good enough for a Chinese restaurant, and they are used to handling large groups. The restaurant felt just like a traditional banquet should. A great choice for group dinners, celebrations, or anyone craving a classic Chinese banquet experience.

Orange chicken came out soggy and cold

Came in craving steamed fish with ginger and my fiance ordered orange chicken. We arrived around 7:30 PM and the restaurant was completely empty. The place was clean but the service was very disappointing from the start. When we were seated the waitress pointed to a table without a tablecloth and said no tablecloth which immediately felt off. At one point I genuinely felt like I was being racially profiled and Im ASIAN which is so crazy to even say. I never make comments like this but the energy felt off the looks were telling and it truly felt like if you are not Chinese you will not be treated well here. Another couple came in after us was seated at a table with a tablecloth, ordered ate, and left before we even received our full order (they had 4 dishes) We waited about 30 to 35 minutes for our food for steamed fish and orange which was honestly insane. The orange chicken came out soggy and not hot. The steamed tilapia took longer than expected but I would say it was actually fresh and delicious. When I asked for extra ginger the waitress commented that it was "too much" which again felt unnecessary. The food has potential but the service ruined the experience. We will not be dining in again.

Great new Cantonese restaurant a few doors down from capital seafood. They have great lunch specials and their food is excellent. Super friendly service too. Also great for large group meals.

We loves to come here for their lunch specials among others beside great service that they do. This time for my dad 87th birthday and as always their food never disappoints. Lobster at all time low $20/lbs and their roast pork are to die for. Panfried noodles always delish and egg tofu is another must have. Give them a try and you will be back.

If I lived in this neighborhood, I'd be here 3 times per week. The food is always freshly cooked to order, the portions are generous, and the lunch specials are very fairly priced. There's a great mix of American Chinese dishes here (orange chicken, sweet and sour pork) and more traditional dishes, and in the couple of times I've been here, we've tried a mix of both and found everything excellent. This most recent trip, I tried the beef satay plate and the kung pow chicken, which came with a full plate of rice as well. We both preferred the kung pow chicken, particularly the crunch of the peanut and that delicious chili oil sauce, but really dug the satay too. We were definitely full and satisfied by the end! The place is huge and always full, and parking can be a little tough in the attached lot. You might be able to park in a nearby lot or street park. One thing to note - this place gets pretty busy, and it can be a little tough to get your bill at the end of the meal. You might have to go up and ask a server directly like I did. Otherwise service was very good. We'll be back :)

4 stars Updating this review from 3.4 to 4 stars. After the initial excitement of their newness, the crowds have finally died down to a more normal pace, allowing for their service to be better. The same servers I had previously are still the same servers today. The pace of when the food comes out has also improved. All their dishes are very consistent. By now, my family and I have tried a good portion of their food and we still like it. My personal favorite will always be their Egg Tofu w/ Mixed Mushrooms ($16.99). Other great options include their stirfried vegetable dishes and chow fun/chow mein. My least favorite dishes are usually anything with their sweet & sour sauces, but I think this is just a me problem b/c every one I know loves it. It's likely too sour for me. (We always get the sauce on the side) Parking is free and plentiful now. I'd recommend this to anyone who is looking for a sit-down family-style Cantonese restaurant.

This restaurant was recommended by my aunt. The food was great, they gave generous portions, and the price was good. There was a promotion where they give you a free half chicken dish if you spend a certain amount of money, and we spent double that amount, so they gave us a whole chicken dish! We actually got two different half chicken dishes as our freebie, so it was nice to try different flavors. The staff is very nice and I highly recommend this place.

The service was relatively better than the last time we were here on Chinese new year eve. The food is good as ever. The portions are generous.

My relatives were in town and we brought them here. The place changed management since the last time I came here. The food has improved a lot. We had a bit party so we got one of the private rooms with a large turning table for a family style feast. We came for saturday lunch but it wasnt crowded or busy. However parking is difficult to find during the rush hour with everyone doing grocery shopping and eating in restaurants inside the plaza.

On a Saturday evening, my husband and I decided to grab dinner here. Because we parked in the shared parking lot, we entered the restaurant through the back. We were immediately greeted upon entering. After being seated and looking over the menu, we ended up ordering: Fish Tofu Congee, $10.50 prior to tax- This meal truly nourished my soul because I was really sick a few days before and hardly ate anything. The congee was nice and hot and thick, just the way I like it. Portion wise, this is perfect for 2- 3 people to share. But again because I had not eaten much for the last few days, I ended up eating most of it (lol, had not realized how hungry I was until I was eating this). My husband did enjoy this congee too. Beef Stew Noodle Soup, $14.95 prior to tax- My husband ordered this dish and thought the soup was flavorful and the noodles had a nice chew. I also liked this dish and thought it was delicious. My husband finished most of this dish. ------------------------------ (Total= $28.10 after tax, prior to tip) Service was friendly. And because the restaurant is on the small side, it was very easy to get a server's attention if you needed something. Although I did speak mostly Cantonese when I was here (I am actually trying to make myself speak Cantonese more), you can order in English. So you shouldn't have any trouble when you dine here. Overall, coming to The Congee was the right choice for dinner and so glad we did. I do see myself coming back here for another meal in the near future. Please note that there is a unisex restaurant towards the back of the restaurant, right next to the back entrance/ exit. The restroom itself had all the basic essentials (running water, toilet paper, paper towels and soap) but wasn't the cleanest. It was decent at best.

They lacked both the expected spiciness and the salty flavor. I believe I had anticipated a taste similar to crispy spicy salted pork chops. After just one bite, I decided to take the remainder home with the intention of making them crispier myself. The Shrimp Wonton Noodles in Soup certainly deserve a five-star rating. The dish featured four generously sized shrimp wontons, all amply filled with shrimp. I did sample the noodles, but unfortunately, I was too satiated to fully appreciate them. I am looking forward to returning for the Shrimp Wonton Noodles in Soup.

What they got right with the spicy wontons was the sauce - spiced, kinda spicy, sour, and also sweet. I could use that sauce on everything. The jiajiang noodles was just a good combo of cool from the cucumbers and the noodles and minced meat were good. The beef noodle soup was fine but I think the soup could've packed a bigger punch. It felt almost watered down but I say the piece of beef were great. When he finally came back, he asked for the order name, told us we would have to wait, and then left us standing there for another 20 minutes with no updates. And it wasn't even rush hour yet btw. After waiting, my sister went up to ask how much longer it would be. He didn't respond and simply stared at her with a blank expression. At that point, my sister ended up looking through the pickup bags herself and found our order sitting there among the other completed pickup orders. We had been waiting this whole time for a pick-up order that was already ready. And it was right in front of him too! What frustrated us most wasn't the wait, but it was the complete lack of communication and basic customer service. There was no apology, no explanation, and not even a goodbye when we left. It's a comfortable spot with padded banquettes or chairs at the tables, which feature chrome frames and (very good-looking) faux marble tops; along with white walls and light-colored wood accents, the owners have created a clean, simple, welcoming environment. The mood is jostled even further into a specific vibe of calmness with the carefully curated music being played: bossa nova covers of pop hits from bygone days (The Bee Gees' "More Than A Woman" and the Bee Gees'-written Streisand hit, "A Woman In Love" being examples), but it all works. The menu offers a varied selection of dishes from several Asian cultures, from Chinese Beef Rolls to Japanese noodles and soups to Korean Beef over rice. It's not a huge menu, but there's definitely enough there for everyone to find something interesting to eat. The food is all cooked in view of the customers by a staff of chefs working in a sparkling clean kitchen enclosed by windows, and the staff is uniformly friendly despite juggling a lunchtime crowd at the tables plus quite a lot of to-go orders. I tried 2 really enjoyable and satisfying dishes. Beef Rolls featured thinly sliced brisket rolled inside crispy fried crepes with scallion, cilantro and a touch of Hoisin sauce. The brisket had a mild but distinctive flavor that spoke of careful preparation, while the slightly astringent pop from the onions and herbs was a nice foil for the inherent fattiness of the fried crepes. The Hoisin sauce was very subtly deployed, lending tasty support without overwhelming everything else. I added some of the house chili oil for a little extra spice and peppery depth, but these well-made rolls were terrific all by themselves. It should also be noted that the portion is very generous, especially for the price ($12.80), and more than enough for 2 people (perhaps 4 people, if each has 1/2). My other dish was the Qinghai Clear Cold Noodle, a terrific-looking, and even better-tasting blend of thick, chewy noodles, fresh chopped garlic, veggies, tofu and chili sauce that's got a bit of heat but more so a pleasing depth of Chinese spices. This appetizer is packed with flavor and just happens to be Vegan (as are a number of menu items), so it can be enjoyed by anyone. All in all, this was a fantastic mid-week lunch that pleased the senses without breaking the bank, and I even brought some home for later. Do give this Noodle St. a try -- and if you're not in Pasadena, check their website, because they have 8 locations, with a 9th opening soon in Sherman Oaks.

The only thing I wouldn't recommend is the Korean beef. It was way too sweet and didn't really give Korean BBQ flavor.
