I tried out a new (to me) cafe in Downtown Tampa. If you blink, you might miss it so DON'T BLINK! This quaint little eatery has a flamingo speckled and palm tree theme to remind you that you are indeed in Tampa! Samaria Cafe has been there for about 10 years and the current owner, a delightful French woman named Karine, bought the restaurant just before COVID. She has adorned the menu with a few French classics like ratatouille (so yummy and a nice presentation) and crepes. The Crepe Brulee... OK y'all... imagine the custard of an expertly crafted Creme Brulee on top of a crepe, then topped with sugar... Then BRULEED! You get the satisfying crack of that brulee and all the goodness underneath. This one was my fave. It is not the most picturesque but my taste buds did not care! The Crepe NY Style was shaped like a pizza slice and had cheesecake, strawberries, and whipped cream. It did NOT disappoint! We started with the juices, fresh and made in house. The Simple Green is quite vegetal and was almost like a green gazpacho. It was delicious, but didn't have a juice feel to me. The Sunrise was citrusy, bright, and not overly sweet. The Flamingo Juice was the table favorite which was watermelon juice and lime. I could drink that all day, every day! The Mimosa, Chai Latte, and Cafe Mocha were also DELISH! You may even enjoy a little champs with the flamingo juice The Charcuterie is a must have for the table. Brie, goat, swiss, meats, baguette... Lovely! And it is served on little plates from the owner's childhood! VERY nice touch! The California Benedict had PERRRRFECTLY poached eggs, impeccable hollandaise, avo, bacon, side of hash browns (but you get choices). The Omelette was MASSIVE and stuffed and absolutely sharable! Rosie got breakfast potatoes with it. I highly recommend giving this place a try! read more

This place is 10/10. We were looking for a breakfast spot in downtown Tampa - and came across Samaria. While the inside has an old school diner vibe - the staff is super friendly and the breakfast may be the best I've had! The pancakes were perfectly cooked with crispy edges. My son had the chicken and waffles and they use a real chicken breast that was delicious. My husband asked for crispy potatoes and they were exactly how he likes them. My other son had the yogurt parfait and a croissant- both were exceptional! I highly recommend this spot, it's definitely a hidden gem! Karin is the most delightful French owner of this restaurant. Her French influence comes through in many of the entries: crepes, Benedict's, and baguettes. Oh my!Everything we ate was scrumptious! There's two tables in here and my chicken wrap has taken more then 30 mins makes sense why no one's in this place. Once my food came out we watched the server take a fry OFF MY PLATE and eat it walked to the table still munching on it. not to mention the matcha coffee was horrible wish I could leave no stars Hi I can assure you I'm not lying about that and I STRONGLY suggest you watch the cameras because I watched my food get placed in the window, my server grab it, look at it and take a fry from the middle of my fry pile pop it in his mouth and chew it as he walked to my table still chewing when he dropped it. I also woulda complained about the matcha if in the 18 mins you say it took of him taking my order and my food coming out but he did not return to my table till the food was ready and by then I was running late and needed to box it and go. read more

Just had one of the best breakfasts in a long time! Sam, our server, was so sweet and attentive. He made sure our coffee cups were filled and checked in on us often. Now let's get to the food. We had the cheesesteak sandwich which was absolutely delicious with fresh bread and oozing yummy cheese - the fries were cooked perfectly. My sister and I came here for breakfast after a concert we attended in Tampa. When we first entered, we were a little nervous about what we were walking into. The decor is very kitschy in a way I can only describe as "my great aunt's favorite place to eat after she goes to bingo." Do not let this deter you! Embrace the kitsch because this place is super charming and very well-run. My sister ordered the monte cristo, which was absolutely delicious. I ordered the western crepe, also delicious. Everything was well-made, well-seasoned, and nothing was greasy and gross, despite our orders' sinfulness. My mimosa and her latte were both also very yummy. The menu is enormous so I'm confident there is something for everyone. In fact, I plan to come here again and work my way through the menu. It was so hard to pick one thing to order from their amazing selection. Service was attentive and super friendly. Parking was expensive ($20 in the nearby lot!), but that was really our only complaint. Definitely consider grabbing a bite here! read more

Acute cafe that is open earlier than other places. Most places in downtown do not open until 11:00 a.m. But this cafe, and the one right next to it, are both open early hours and even accept reservations. They were super sweet and polite. Service was a little slower, but it was Sunday prime time brunch so I think it was acceptable. It's not five star dining, but for what it is, it is lovely. It is simple and hearty food. The kitchen does get behind sometimes but you never feel rushed, so just enjoy the coffee and the company and relax. The eggs Benedict were very good. The homemade soup of the day was chicken vegetable, and with a French baguette on the side it was delicious. The euro was okay but dry because they did not put any tzatziki sauce on it. Potato salad was delicious. They have one bathroom stall for each gender which was not in bad condition, considering the amount of people using it, but there was quite a line. read more

The place a few doors down had 15 pickup orders so they told us 45 minutes. Can I review a place I didn't eat at but received a bait and switch? My daughter needed a light meal quick before soccer started again. We found this place nearby. She ordered the fruit yogurt. I ordered a chicken wrap with fries. I wasn't expecting much. Daughter ate all of the yogurt. My wrap was above average. The fries were actually really good. It's the kind with the breading on the fries. Makes them extra crispy and hot in the middle. Now I want some. Damn it Samaria! Waitstaff was quick and attentive. We were in and out pretty fast. Love that. The bathroom was dirty and in the back area - not part of the main restaurant. This must be an older building where they didn't provide bathrooms to the customers but stuffed them in the back in a narrow hallway. Not sure Samaria can fix that. Service was good but the kitchen was backed up so the food took forever. The waitress acknowledged the long wait and randomly brought a piece of buttered toast to the table for us to share. Strange but nice gesture. She could of left us hanging right? Anyways, food finally came out. I got the eggs Benedict. It was good. English muffins were a little hard but I didn't want a lot of bread anyways. Grits were good and so were the pancakes. They bring a machine to your table to pay which is convenient. Bacon cheeseburger: They have different cheese options besides cheddar which is cool. I love blue cheese on my burgers; however, the blue cheese they used wasn't my favorite. I would get a burger again because it was cooked well, but I wouldn't recommend blue cheese. We were in Tampa for the Half Marathon. We got to Samaria Cafe about 11-ish. We were a party of four. We were told the wait was 30-40 minutes. We were seated about ten minutes later. We ordered 3 Mimosas and a juicer as our beverages. They have an extensive food menu with a plethora of options. We ordered a smoked turkey sandwich on a chipotle wrap with fries, 2- blueberry parfaits and a Gyro omelette, toast and grits. The mimosas were thirst quenching and refreshing. The juicer had a lot of pulp, but I wasn't fond of the taste. The gyro omelette was fluffy and loaded with just the right amount of ingredients. After we ordered our server, Dana said it would be about 25 minutes before I order would be ready. 25 minutes later our meal was served. We would definitely dine here again. read more

My fiancée recommended this restaurant to me during my layover in Tampa Bay! I ordered the chicken pesto panini and it was a juicy chicken sandwich. The bread was ok, the cheese was nicely melted, the spinach added a nice balance to the sandwich, and the tomato however made the sandwich soggy.
