We went in as a group of 9 and they were pretty fast! The egg benedict was wonderful - the egg soft and flavorful but the crepe was eh. The ratatouille was also a great touch and makes the cafe unique I think.

Samaria Café has such a cute diner vibe right in downtown Tampa. We ordered the western crepe, the breakfast bowl, and pancakes to share..all came out quickly and tasted really good. The service was great, the prices are reasonable, and it feels like the kind of spot you could easily become a regular at. I'll definitely be back!

I like this place and will go again. Everything is moderately priced and solid portions. Also the eggs benny had so much flavor. I was delightfully surprised. Good job, Samaria Cafe

Traditional - two eggs, bacon, and hash browns!

Visited Samaria for the first time today with some out of town friends and loved our experience. This is a casual, no-frills (and VERY REASONABLY PRICED) restaurant located in the heart of downtown Tampa. We partially came to party and almost started paying $8 per mimosa, and then we learned that we could just buy a bottle of Andre champagne and that would satisfy our table's needs...and boy, it did! I had the avocado toast (not pictured) and a traditional breakfast with two fried eggs over hard, two slices of bacon, and hashbrowns that were delightful once I added a little bit of salt. What I really loved about our visit is how many juice options they have for mimosas. We enjoyed passionfruit and mango but there were a ton more options. Our server (whose name I don't have because I didn't pay the bill) was amazing. He was knowledgeable and attentive, what more could you ask for?! Oh, and they have adorable mechanical colored pencils for the kids! I'm a teacher so I appreciate the attention to the kids! Would definitely recommend Samaria and would definitely return if I find myself in the downtown area.

    California Bowl

Went for brunch with several friends and my partner. I ordered the California Bowl and my partner got the Bagel and Lox. The food was okay - my partner liked her bagel but my bowl was not great. The bacon was not crispy and hard to chew - the home fries were the majority of the bowl and did not feel worth the $14 price point. I was going to order a chai latte, but I requested that it be iced - the waiter said that it was made with powder so adding ice would not be possible. Otherwise, the service was great. The atmosphere was nice - a classic small diner vibe. I would come here for cheap eats if the food was cheaper.

I'm actually late on this review as we ate here after the Hot Chocolate Run. Service was good and the food was decent. My avocado toast pretty good with scrambled eggs and bacon. Bacon is meh. Hubbs had the omelet and hashbrowns. He said it was all pretty good also but I'm not sure how he'd know based on the amount of ketchup on the items lol. My big issue is cleanliness. One of the fortunate things that happened in restaurants during covid was all salt and peppers, along with caddys or any bottles were pulled between patrons and cleaned. Now a days, it's hit or miss with places ensuring these items are wiped down. This place was a miss. The bigger impression I got is the place is old and they have not updated anything. The menus are falling apart and dirty. I'd go back if I had others who wanted to go, bc the food was decent and service was good. But I'd like to see them do some of the deep cleaning.

Coming back 4 months later, this time I wanted to try something different - yes, Croissants! It was incredibly! I like the crunchy outside with the chocolate flavor, filled with cheesecake, strawberry and cream! It took me a while to choose between New York style or South French style, but I followed the staff's recommendation The restaurant was quiet on such a Friday noon. Not very busy. Chose a seat inside, with the iced water and hot coffee, friendly staff, I don't mind coming back again to try something else!

I wanted to love this place. We tried it on a Saturday morning. The coffee was absolutely delicious. Service was very friendly but slow, regarless of the fact that it was early and not busy. My omelette was overcooked, crispy, and my hash browns were undercooked, soggy, very little browning. My toast (one small piece) had a very heavy coat of butter but the bread tasted like something you'd get at Publix in the bread aisle - white or wheat were only choices. Avocado toast was tiny, one piece of toast - very small portion. We had hoped to find a better option than First Watch but this was mediocre at best.

I work nearby and it's safe to say this is my favorite breakfast spot downtown. I've visited a few times now and they are always consistent! The food, the service & the ambiance is unmatched! I've eaten inside and outside and both are a vibe. My favorite dish is the gyro omelette. It comes with a generous amount of meat and lots of feta cheese which I love! The ratatouille is also amazing and flavorful. They have fresh pressed juices which are refreshing and tasty not to mention a variety of coffee drinks there's something for everyone no matter you like your coffee!

I hate doing this but, It just was not good we waited an hour and fifteen minutes for our food to come and my Cuban sandwich was not good, I think the chef was overwhelmed and he just threw my sandwich together. The chips were good and the coleslaw was great.

    Chicken Pesto Sandwich

I visited Samaria Café with co-workers for lunch earlier this week and had a nice experience. I ordered the Chicken Pesto Sandwich. A soft bun was filled with tender chicken, gooey provolone, flavorful garlicy pesto, juicy tomato and spinach. The side of fries were nicely crisp.

The California Benedict was worth the walk, and the balance of egg, tomato, bacon and avocado gave me the energy to walk for 2 more hours!

The vibe is perfect for a nice downtown morning. Their menu has a little something for everyone, and there are even some more novel additions like ratatouille and unique versions of crepe and omelets.

    Gyro Sandwich

Terrible!! I used to love this place but ever since it sold it is not the same. I have had a gyro here many times and it's been a minute, but what a disappointment. The taste was bland and very skimpy on the meat. Before you could barely close the pita. Now you have to overlap the pita. Goodbye Samaria.

The inside is very spacious and whimsically decorated with a few different seating options: regular table and chairs but also couch/loveseats with tables and chairs. Our server was attentive and friendly and super knowledgeable about the menu and the plentiful gluten free options/swaps (they have gluten free bread). For brunch, we ordered deviled eggs, whipped feta, lobster Benedict, sweet potato hash, and the fish amandine. Everything was excellent. The fried oyster on the deviled eggs was inventive and super tasty. The whipped feta has pomegranate seeds sprinkled on top which made for a yummy sweet and savory bite. Hubbys sweet potato hash was flavorful and filling. The lobster bennys had quite a bit of lobster and the old bay hollandaise sauce was perfection. The fresh fish amandine was yellowtail snapper that came out with a beautifully crispy skin, a delicious brown butter almond sauce and sautéed green beans. This place was a hit for all of us and we cannot wait to go back again, even to try supper too!
