I want to further emphasize my previous review and say that this is, hands down, the best pizza place in NEPA. There's nowhere in this area where you can get New York style that competes with actual NYC pizzerias, double crust white that makes any Old Forge rendition look chintzy, and a vodka sauce pizza that transcends most pizza you'll ever have in your life (square or round). Sure, I would believe that there are a few places out of the 100 or so scattered across this valley that can compete on some measures, and every person is entitled to have their own tastes, but this is it. Two of my family members lived in Old Forge, I live in New York, and during my boyhood in Scranton I could eat almost an entire tray of any of the NEPA classics. We sat around the table last night sampling the three different styles mentioned above and we wondered what the hell we've been doing all these years. The vodka sauce square with the buttery crust is divine. Do they bother to butter the crust in Old Forge? You look at pictures posted to the NEPA Pizza groups on Facebook and it's just sad compared to the benchmark set here. You read all the negative reviews here... nobody can articulate what they don't like about the pizza and nobody will just come out and admit that the cheap ingredients and pre-made "shell" standardization by Old Forge places means they can never actually be the best. This is only my second time here. I had ordered a tray of eggplant rolatini years ago that was great. I have been hearing good things so followed them on Facebook and had to try their Sonny special today which I've seen come up a couple times now - "fried pizza" with sauce, mozzarella, ricotta, pepperoni, and hot honey. I knew it would be good when I got there and people were lined up waiting for them to come out of the oven and it was. Very unique thick crust baked in a pan, presumably with oil - the oil taste was borderline too much but definitely gave the relatively light crust a nice crisp. The flavor combination was delicious! I don't like that they pass their credit card surcharge onto the customer, it's a cost of doing business. read more

First time we ordered from here but definitely not the last time. We ordered a few pizzas which each were good but the Old World Tomato Pizza was phenomenal!!! The sauce is absolutely delicious!! Samarios NEVER disappoints. Some of the best Italian in town in my opinion. Some Italian food in town can be a little bland and run of the mill but not samarios. It is packed with flavor! We have only ever gotten takeout and they have been rude but that doesn't defer me in this situation. Last night we got the penne vodka, meatballs, gnocchi, and a chicken parm. Everything was warm, well made, and delicious! I can't wait to get everything again. I liked this restaurant. The service was great, prices are reasonable. The place is very clean and a nice atmosphere. I had wings that were very good and stuffed mushrooms and french fries that were also very good. My one complaint was of the food I actually went there for... Pizza. The crust was surprisingly spongy for an Old Forge style pizza... The bottom line is I wouldn't go here specifically for pizza but I will try other things from the menu in the future. read more

I go up to this man and tell him i'm from door dash and he gives me more attitude than a child not getting presents on Christmas. This is not the first time this man has been unprofessional either. While I'm waiting for my client's food he guves attitude to another customer, enough to the point where this man is about to shove his fist don the cashier's throat. If the cashier is this bad, I can't even imagine the shit service you're most likely gonna get.Never come to this place, you will get more attitude from one man than from your 4 children at home. The people working in this restaurant don't follow covid guidelines. I've seen them without mask and gloves working around and touching the food after touching various objects that they don't sanitize. Especially the fat balding white guy working the counter who I've seen being rude to various customers. Don't go to eat here unless you want to end up with undercooked pizza/covid or both. Samario's has a classic city restaurant feel to it, and is one of the nicest spaces around, especially since Faccia Luna closed. No drop ceilings, sheet-rock walls, or overly bright lighting here-- you get tin ceilings, abundant woodwork, tablecloths, and soothing lighting. I had square pizza (good crust) and pasta. The food is ok, not great but decent, and the prices are fair. Go for the ambiance more than anything. read more

Went last night for dinner. Reservations handled perfectly, no wait at all. Waitress was VERY pleasant and informative even informing. My wife the Italian meaning of her selection. Usually get veal dishes but tried the lasagna and it was fantastic! All in our party were amazed by size of servings. Pleasant musical mix of Italian favories and seasonal selections. We had a great time. I'd also recommend their upstairs,private room for any big social gathering. Recently used for a rehearsal party dinner and couldn't have been better. I watched Goodfellas recently and walking into Samario's - I expected to see Liotta at the bar in a shiny suit. A family run business that's been around for over a decade. Traditional Italian pastas and pizzas with an excellent selection of daily specials ranging from veal to vegetarian to pork. We had the pepperoni New York style pizza. It was fantastic. Nice and fresh and hot. The crust was crunchy chewy. The pasta sauce was delicious. The cheese was mozzarella and tasted great. The pepperon was good too. I called for a pick up and was told it would be 20 minutes. I arrived in 18 minutes. The pizza just came out of the oven and was hot. Horrible service! My family and I had reservations on New Year's Eve. After an 1:40 we left having been served drinks and a salad. We got the impression that we were forgotten about, mind you there were 4 adults and 4 children. We watched every table around us get seated and served. Before leaving we requested to speak with the manager. After a brief insincere exchange we were told, "I'm not going to offer you a gift certificate, we both know you're never coming back". We had plans for after dinner that we had to cancel because no one had eaten yet and it was almost 9PM! Remember we had 4 kids with us ranging from 13 to 4. I have ordered from here since they first opened. The owners are very hardworking and nice along with their 2 sons, which the name of the restaurant is named after. The other staff are also very nice. There are so many cheesesteaks and different kinds of pizza you could get. And they have gravy fries too! I have never left disappointed. I haven't dined in the restaurant side, but if you are picking up pizza or hoagies just beware that the room is a little stuffy because they do have to cook the pizzas. read more

We ate at the Restaurant Side with friends. The atmosphere was nice and the decor assisted with making you feel at home. We had a good time chatting and the restaurant was full. The silverware was of less quality than school cafeteria. The service was sub-par. We had to ask for waters, refills, etc. Food was good, but not great. I had the veal wraps with a marsala finish, but the marsala sauce was thick and whitish in color. Very heavy, but like I said, good. If you go, just know what you are expecting.
