This location is way better than the location on Rollins. I love the call ahead drive thru, we call on our way home from work. The fries are crispy and fresh. I love the chicken on pita. They are always friendly and fast. read more

Chicken is always dry And as far as the gyros then need to try a real Greek Restaraunt gyro once and they could fix it. you guys should go to the works in Niles they have the best gyro ever. read more

My girl's mother is in a nursing home a minute down the road. Not knowing the area I got lucky with my phone app pointing me to Sammie's. I had the Italian beef, fries & soda meal deal. The beef was super lean and piles high, wonderful. The fries were unpeeled just like I love them but rare to find, fresh & hot. It might be silly to do a soda review but since many places can't get it right I'll give that props as well. Perfect balance of carbonation and syrup. I only eat meat once or twice a month and I'm super picky as I'm mostly a Veggie. Next time we're visiting I won't look elsewhere for eats. I must also mention the counter girl told me with sincerity to have a nice night on my way to the exit and the cook said thank you as well. Keep up the good work!!!! read more

This place has amazing French fries. The food is consistently good. My friend got the mozzarella beef, I got hotdogs and fries. We also got jalapeño poppers and mozzarella sticks. Everything was good. The servers are always nice. I'd recommend this place to anyone. The only concern is the price but honestly I can overlook it for the flavor and service. read more

I called before so I could pick up my food and go. The girl that picked up the phone said "hold" and put the phone down not on hold. After she picked up and asked what I wanted. I said I wanted to order the chicken salad but I wanted to know exactly came on it. The girl said "I think lettuce"..... seriously. You seriously think I didn't know that. After she asked if I wanted her to find out what came on it, I told her yes please let me know. She comes back on the phone and tells me. I then said I'd like to order 2 of the salads. I get home and they put what looked like cut up slices of kraft American cheese on our chicken salads. My husband and I were both pissed. The ranch dressing was watered down and tasteless.... bottom line I won't go back. read more

Had the meatball sandwich last week and was pretty good. The fries are outstanding as who doesn't love crinkle cut fries? The service is also good and workers very friendly. The reason for only two stars is I came back to try the burger and it isn't good at all. The bun was soggy from the grease and made the burger a mess. Will still go back again but hope the owners make some changes as I'm not the only one to post this in regards to the burgers. I ordered their double Samburger thinking it was going to be really good; well, it was not. The tomato was ice cold and despite the fresh meat the bun couldn't hold it up. The bun just crumbles no matter what and I tried to tell the cashier but she didn't understand and gave me a weird look. I came back and got the smaller one but it didn't matter...the bun fell apart and it looked like the inside of a diaper. I'm going to Wendy's. read more

So, I've been going to Sammies on Rollins Rd for the most part but since this one was closer to me I thought I'd try it out. The food is awesome as always but man will I not dine in. The service was way to slow than normal. I'm pretty sure it was because of the new drive thru. I recommend the drive thru instead of ordering inside. read more

Food is fantastic never seem to have a complaint the women that work there are very pretty easy on the eyes for sure but what I don't understand is they give away a card that says by seven sandwiches and get one five dollar sandwich free and you never get that they want you to come there for seven visits but the card says by seven sandwiches when you buy five sandwiches and come there with your family they only give you one punch so why would you give away a card that says by seven sandwiches and not punch at seven times when you buy seven sandwiches completely makes no sense if you like pretty girls and you really want some tasty food this is the place to go to but I just can't give it five stars because of my complaint read more

I walked in tonight to order two hot dogs and what I witnessed left me speechless. One line cook was not wearing gloves and grabbed the hot dogs with his bare hands directly from the tub storing the hot dogs. He picked the hot dogs up with his hands (no gloves) and plopped them on the buns. He then proceeded to pick up french fries with no gloves. Three young workers, no managers to be found. Not one worker was wearing gloves. No tongs for picking up food. Other line cook was shaving gyro meet with bare hands and knife. I got a front-seat show by going inside and seeing them cooking food behind the counter. If you are looking for food poisoning and bacteria on your food....this place is a must see. The health department needs to be called. Buy your employees a box of gloves. Very poor sanitation. Will never come back to this restaurant. Go elsewhere! read more

We love Sammies on Rollins, great gyros, burgers, polish, fresh sliced potato fries etc. This is the third and last time we will go to the one on Fairfield. Got a juicy beef, the slices of meat were huge and tough, almost as if the meat was boiled but not cooked. Like a corn beef that did not simmer long enough. Literally had to cut the meat with a sharp knife, glad I took it home could never have eaten it just as a sandwich. But did not bother to finish it, it was awful. The fries are the worst, frozen crinkle cut, only partially cooked and white--not golden brown, and no flavoring salt. My friend got a tamale, it was fine, but its hard to ruin them. DO NOT SPEND YOUR $$$ here, if you need a Sammies fix drive the extra blocks to Rollins. Sammie, you really should think about taking your name off of this one. There is likely some decent customer traffic because there is no other food places nearby except Subway. You are better off at Subway. read more

This was the worst service I've ever had. I thought it was a joke. The food tasted good, but the employee told me the chicken is microwaved. The real problem was the unbelievable service. The girl was so rude on the phone When I placed my order. My hubby refused to cancel it. So I sent him for pick up. She was even worse to him. She rudely handed him our food and said "take this its in my way." It only gets worse. I was so irritated it really ruined the meal with my microwaved chicken. It was super awesome when she told me she is the manager and hung up on me. The actual manager did call me back though and offered 20% OFF my next meal. read more

I live at Coventry Glen Apartments right behind here. It's great not having to drive past Cedar Lake Rd anymore to get to a Sammies. The staff here is just as great as the staff at the Rollins Rd location, always friendly and have started remembering my usual order. They've got milkshakes now and a drive-through you can pickup an advance order from. I recommend their burgers, they taste better than Five-Guys and their bacon isn't burnt to a petrified crisp. There's a Great Clips 2-doors down in the same shopping center so you can get a haircut then grab a bite to eat. read more

After a string of failed restaurants in that location (The Hot Spot, we hardly knew ye'), I was happy to see a Sammies take over. Lots of great food to choose from. The burgers are probably my favorite thing on the menu, with a great charbroiled taste and crunchy onions and lettuce. Another fave is the Chicken Fajita Pita. Charbroiled chicken, mozzarella, green peppers and onion on a pita. Really good. Gyros are delicious and you get a LOT of meat. I'm not a big fan of their Italian Beef and their hot dogs are decent but not phenomenal. All the sodas in their fountain taste bland to me, not sure why. The all-female order-taking staff are easy on the eyes and friendly. read more
