We arrived and placd is empty. We ordered the chicken waffles. And the jumbo sausage. Chicken was burnt. Waffles brown and burnt. My sausage texture was like rubber. Ambiance is good for a pancake house. Only thing was great was our server Rocio. Sorry guys your in a great location and have everything to succeed and gey this packed.

5 pieces of Sammy's Famous Chicken and Waffle.. terrible.

Food was terrible. You could probably find way better chicken at smiths than this place. Pancakes are ok but not the best. Food is way overpriced compared to other breakfast restaurants. Expect to my $20 per plate plus $5 for soft drinks.

Breakfast for dinner.... yes please!!! Most days this is my breakfast for dinner go to place but today the patty melt and onion rings seduced me. The meat patty is thick juicy and perfectly cooked. The grilled onions are soft yet firm with a light caramelized sweetness. The bread was soft yet crispy in all the right places. If you like spicy order a side of grilled Serrano peppers which will definitely kick this awesome duo to the nexxxt level. We ordered a side of ranch and ketchup for double dipping decadence! We were going to order pancakes or a waffle but were stuffed from the fantastic flavorful fat patty melt. This will continue to be a good to spot. Service is always good and food is always fresh and hot. Love the classic diner music which is lively but not to loud. Thanks Sammy's for yet another delicious meal shared with great company!

We came here on New Years Day 2026. Located right off of Tustin Ave in Orange with private parking. The restaurant is very clean with many booths. Staff is friendly. I ordered a hamburger with onion rings and my husband ordered the pancakes with strawberries and bananas with eggs, sausage and hash browns. The burger was large, flavorful and wasn't greasy. I especially liked the onion rings as they are Panko crust, light and also not greasy. The food was delicious, generous portions and great prices. Menu offers breakfast and lunch with so many options to choose from. They also offer beer and wine. Definitely recommend, will return! Great place for a meal!

Took my mother in-law once for breakfast and we've kept coming back! The food especially the house potatoes are jammed backed with flavor! Family Home like atmosphere! Love it here!

Great portion and fun items. If you are into diner breakfast then give it a shot. Place is always packed on the weekend for good reason! Friendly fast service but very small restaurant

AMAZING! We absolutely love this place. The place is always clean even the syrup bottles which are usually sticky at other places here they are spotless. The staff is so friendly & helpful. The food is incredible and the menu is HUGE! We love their huevos rancheros, the farmers omelette & the tuna melt.

My son called Culinary Dropout and spoke with Olivia, the hostess, to see if the kitchen was still serving. Olivia responded with genuine warmth and kindness, assuring us that the kitchen was still open and that they would be happy to welcome us. From the moment we arrived, Olivia's hospitality set the tone for an exceptional evening. She greeted us with a warm smile, made us feel genuinely welcome, and promptly seated us. Shortly after, our server, Layla, introduced herself. Despite the late hour, she was energetic, engaging, and had an infectious enthusiasm that elevated the entire dining experience. She expertly recommended several cocktails, along with a glass of wine, and her knowledge of both the bar program and the menu was impressive. Her recommendations for appetizers and entrées were spot on. We decided on the Wagyu Pigs in a Blanket, BBQ Nachos, and the Spicy Rigatoni. Every dish was beautifully prepared, flavorful, and exceeded our expectations. Another team member, Emanuel, delivered one of our dishes and was equally personable and engaging. He took the time to share information about the restaurant, further demonstrating the outstanding level of hospitality displayed by the entire team. Manager Dave also stopped by our table to check on our experience. We shared with him that this was, without question, one of the best dining experiences we've had in Orange County in quite some time. Great food certainly matters, but it was the exceptional service, genuine hospitality, and positive energy of the staff that made the evening truly memorable. A sincere thank you to Layla, Olivia, Emanuel, Dave, and the entire Culinary Dropout team for creating such a first-class dining experience. We look forward to returning soon and will gladly recommend your restaurant to family and friends.

No. No meant no table. She told me it would be a couple hour wait when I could see there were tables available. I made a reservation this Sunday. Unfortunately, buffet brunch only. I could see the chafing dishes from outside, but decided to dine here anyway. There was a family sitting outside on the patio, but since it was warm outside, when the hostess asked inside or outside, I said inside. The waitress told me about the $59/person Sunday brunch. No espresso drinks, but it includes bottomless mimosas. Champaign with orange, pineapple, cranberry juice, or all three. Yes, all three please. Eggs are custom made orders by request. The brunch buffet had great options. It included, pancakes, waffles, French toast, crepes, pasta, potatoes, cod, chicken, meats, salads, pizza, fruit, yogurt, various breads, crème brûlée, and mini chocolates. My mimosa was perfect, since I poured my side juices in myself. The food all tasted great. My complaint is the eggs. I ordered two fried eggs. I had to remind her of the order because I believe the kitchen forgot my eggs. She made an excuse that they were busy. I don't think so, since I could see the three of them from my table. When I received them, they were hot and fresh, but the worst fried egg I've ever had. Ugly and runny. A fried egg should be the easiest thing to prepare. Disappointing. The entire time I was here, there were at most five parties. One was a large group celebrating a birthday. Not crowded on Sundays. No reservation required. I only had two separate plates of food and a plate of desserts. Unless you eat or drink a lot, the price of the buffet brunch is not worth it. In summary, service was good. My champagne glass was never empty. Excluding the eggs, all the food tasted great. I like the overall look of the restaurant. The Sunday buffet brunch is not my first choice.

We sat there for a long while before the waiter came by, we got the drinks. Those came out fairly normally. Then, he eventually took our orders a little after 5p. Then... we waited, and waited. We didn't have place settings for two people, he didn't ask, so we had to go get them ourselves. By 5:35p, no food, we reminded him that we had to get going soon. He didn't seem to care, "I'll check on the food." It finally came out around 5:45p. No drinks refills for any of us, no extra water. He didn't ask, didn't seem to care. Some of us ordered the meal with the dessert, so we paid for it but then the desserts weren't coming out so we asked him twice about them. No smile, no urgency. By then, it was 6:05p and we were late. We had to ditch the food we paid for because we wouldn't have been out of there until after 6:30p. A typical meal should be around 45 minutes, hour max. We were there almost 1.5 hours. If management is wondering, the waiter is the heavy-set guy with the beard... and the permanent scowl. Never smiled once, barely made eye contact. To me, that's a bad look that seven customers saw, 7x the bad reviews that get passed on word of mouth.
