This is the one sauce you will get

Avoid this franchise! Unlike all the other Samurai Sams this location will greet you with snotty and disrespectful service and blatantly doesn't care if they have customers. When I placed my order I asked for extra sauce for the teriyaki bowls and when I arrived and received my order I checked my request was fulfilled. I received a teaspoon of sauce per bowl (see pic) to accommodate my extra sauce request. I asked the lady (supposedly the owners daughter) about the extra sauce I requested and she said that was it. Then I preceded to open the bowls I ordered and as I expected there was no sauce on the whole bowl. Just the chicken had a small amount of sauce. I asked her for more than a teaspoon of sauce and she said that would be an extra charge! She said we are already giving you free sauce. Lol I pointed to the open bowl (see pic) and I asked her if she thought a teaspoon of sauce would cover all the vegetables and rice in this bowl? She replied in a snotty condescending tone, "we charge for extra"!!! I asked to talk to a manager and he came out and said "these are our extra sauces and we already gave you some free." I again calmly asked him how this location thinks that a teaspoon of sauce could cover the rice and Vegetables in this bowl. Every other Samurai Sams give you enough sauce or the sauce is adequate with in the bowl. He replied very sarcastically "if you want more you will need to pay for it or go to another samurai Sams!" The customer service was non existent and it was crystal clear they don't have one ounce of respect or concern for their customers. There are so many choices for dinner in Phoenix. Don't patronize businesses that could careless about their customers.

Large. Tiny bits of meat. No meat underneath. That's it. Disappointing.

Very small amount of meat, even if you get the large. Nothing like the photos that you may see provided by the chain. Disappointed.

Farthest is steak and chicken mix. Both large size teriyaki bowls.
    Stephanie I.

We love the teriyaki bowls! Those large size bowls are huge, when you eat it all you want to pop. Love it. Delicious sauce. We get chicken and steak both tasty. We usually call ahead and pickup. We off thunderbird and 101 and I drive here for these teriyaki bowls. One day I'll try other items lol.

So happy to have found a legitimate place for real & fresh sushi in the West Valley!!…read more Previously I would be subject to driving out to Sushi Sen in Scottsdale for sushi/Japanese food. Haru is a nice alternative that is much closer and offers an omakase plate that rivals some of the best sushi you can find in Torrance/LA. The pricing of this omakase is steep at $70 for 8pcs of premium fish plus a toro roll but worthwhile for a special occasion or to get your fix. Pricing on their happy hour seems pretty reasonable as well which is most weekdays until 6pm. Pricing on the rest of the menu is fair but doesnt quite exceed expectations in terms of value for money, especially compared to Sushi Sen. My mom, who is an incredibly tough critic, really enjoyed the soft shell crab tempura and said it wasn't oily or greasy. I have to agree. I enjoyed their "tuna cracker" which is like spicy tuna crispy rice at most other restaurants. I've already been back a second time within the same week and will probably be back again within the month. Highly recommend!

Some of their specialty rolls are $50/roll!!! I repeat- FiIFTY American dollars per roll. I don't know that I've seen prices that high even in Scottsdale or Las Vegas. There's no reason that this casual sushi spot should be charging like they're off the coast of Japan in an elite cliffside restaurant. The food is very good, but it's not "I need to finance this meal", $50/roll good. Also.. I asked for the WiFi password (literally titled "Haru Sushi Guest") so I could work on my laptop if needed, just to be told they were not allowed to give out their WiFi password out to anyone (even the staff aren't allowed to use it). Kind of silly to be gatekeeping something as simple as WiFi in the year 2026. I would have loved to make this my new working lunch spot, but between the egregiously high prices and the WiFi witness protection program, I'll be skipping it next time.

Right when we walked in the door, we had a warm greeting from Sohui, the hostess and our server. The atmosphere was very trendy, upbeat with colorful murals on the walls. We ordered a Sake Bomber while looking over the menu which was quit extensive. We ordered Salmon, Yellowtail, Uni, and Eel Nigiri. In addition we ordered a Lollipop Roll, Spicy Tuna Hand Roll, Spicy Yellowtail Hand Roll and a Salmon Skin Hand Roll. All the Sushi was presently beautifully. The quality of fish was excellent... all tasting wonderful. LOL to note: my friend is very particular on how he likes his Spicy Tuna Hand Rolls to be VERY VERY SPICY while tasting great! The Sushi Chef NAILED IT! So much so, my friend ordered 3 of them! We will definitely be back when in Glendale. Atmosphere: trendy, upbeat, fun place. Service: excellent. Food: excellent.

That's usually a bit of a warning sign, but didn't let that stop us from sitting down. We opted for a table, but they also have some bar-style seating as well. Started off with a Sapporo on draft. It came in a chilled glass--always a nice touch! Had fast service and wait staff was kind and attentive. We split the gyoza. This was my least favorite part of the meal. It was a bit more oily than I would have liked. Then he ordered a plate of sushi, and I got the ramen. He enjoyed his sushi, but thought it was good but nothing special. I did really like my ramen and the broth was very good! They had a couple of dessert options, but we passed on them. Overall, it was a nice mix up from where we normally go! Don't know that I'd make the trip back any time soon because we are spoiled for choice living in the Valley. But if you're in the area, it's worth a try!

The restaurant itself is definitely on the smaller side but they also have outdoor dining as an option. This is what one would call a hidden gem because we were definitely not disappointed as we were walking away. Once you sit down you'll realize that this is a restaurant where you're having several random servers taking care of you. So once we finally decided on our choices everything came out fairly quickly even with there being a half full restaurant. We started with some pork gyozas which is one of my husband's favorites & he was happily pleased... they were very fresh. We also had some of the tempura shrimp & onion which were both perfectly cooked without being greasy. As for the sushi we went with the shrimp tempura roll which was some of the best, the rice was cooked perfect plus everything was balanced just right. Then we also had the spider roll which I just loved because I love soft shell crab... OMG with the avocado & cream cheese, there were zero complaints on my end! Overall everything that we chose was so delicious that we've since been back to grab take away from here when we're craving some fresh sushi!

I walked in and was seated pretty quickly. I didn't wanna sit at the bar, and they had plenty of tables opened, so I asked for one of them. I was given the both, which is why I suspect it took mw some time to get initial service. I wasn't in a rush, so no biggie though. I ordered my soup and pot stickera to start. The soup was solid, but like a 6/10 of being hot (temp wise). The pot stickers were solid, but I would have appreciated them if they were a bit cruncher. As for the main meal, the avocado roll was delicious but you can't really mess that up. I loved the lollipop roll even if it is a bituch for just 1 bite. The salmon saahimi was good, quite small. I feel like the nigiri for the same price would have had bigger pieces? I do love that they have fresh wasabi. It is also a nice addition. Overall, it's a solid place. Would be higher if service was more attentive to start and the sashimi was a bit bigger, but overall def worth the visit.
