    Caesar Salad
    Rene D.

TLDR: Salad good, kinda pricy I actually really enjoyed my caesar salad! Since I work downtown and spend most of my job sitting in an office, I generally want something lighter for lunch. San Francisco Salad Co really hit the spot. The caesar dressing was really thick and tasted homemade (not sure if it actually is). The salad contained a healthy amount of chicken, some parmesan cheese, and croutons. It was the perfect lunch sized meal and I was definitely full after. It's a little pricy at around 13 dollars (with tip), but it's Hawai'i so I can't complain. Owner (??) is friendly and packs up all the necessary goodies (soup or bread and such) for you. I'll definitely be back!

    Sourdough (half eaten)

I'm a soup and salad person. In downtown, this place has the most affordable salads and soups, and they're yummy! The sourdough bread here is the best. Attaching pic of my half eaten sourdough bread hehe

A hidden gem in downtown - tamarind park on Bishop street. Quite a few eating places to eat here, but San Francisco Salad Co makes a variety of great salads to select from and a salad dressings you can choose too! Salads are fresh and so delicious! Today, we got the oriental chicken salad (the grant) and it didn't disappoint! There was a short line, but service was good once it was my turn. It's a small shop that offers no indoor seating but there is places to eat outdoor. I'll be back to try more salads and soups!

Lunch on a budget and thinking to save on calories equals soup in the downtown area. This place has been here for years. I appreciate that it lasted through the pandemic and wanted to try the tortillas soup again. The staff seemed different and wondered if they changed ownership. I ordered the large soup and saw the man add chips first then add soup but not to the top. There is no seating and this is definitely a to go place so grab your grub then eat elsewhere. Soup tasted like it did 10 years ago, little spicy, tomato, cilantro, cumin and lotsa pepper. Soup is pretty filling but I think you should order a side so you are not hungry again in an hour. Soup was good and included French bread is satiating. Will I be back? Maybe not anytime soon. I think paying almost $10 for soup and bread is a little steep.

This is a take out place, no seating inside. It's nice, lots of salad and soup choices. I love the Tomato Basil Soup. It comes either in a cup or bowl with some bread , size depends on what you ordered. The service is quick, the person in front was very nice and helpful.

FOOD one of the healthier places to eat in bishop square. Large salads are a pretty good size. You can choose from several different dressings. They also have homemade soups (havent tried any yet) Read the salad descriptions so you know whats in it since the names are not normal (theyre all sf places) CUSTOMER SERVICE pretty efficient at serving you and putting everything together since its all premade

Overall: tasty salad for quick pickup Parking: downtown so try the Alii parking structure or street Cleanliness: clean Ambiance: chill pickup lunch space Noise level: quiet (no tables inside) Recommend dish: whatever you like with the sesame dressing Service: friendly Good bang for your buck?: yup, pretty good deal for downtown Would I come again?: yes! Fun tip/fact: just check out what's in the display case to see what he has; never know what he has in stock This is my go to salad place. Consistently, the greens are fresh, clean, the chicken is low fat, and it's always ready to go. Usually the salads are enough for a meal or two, especially if you paid it with a bread or soup. The owner is also very nice and remembers my order. ~Enjoy!

Italian Sausage and Potato Soup, Combo Salad and Italian Dressing.

I've heard amazing things about this small lunch spot and it did not disappoint! The salads are super fresh (ZERO soggy/gross vegetables) and you can tell they're made that same day. The soup is delicious and flavorful. Not overly sweet/watery and has such a great combination of ingredients. The service is super quick even with only one person prepping and ringing up. I got the bowl of Italian sausage and potato soup with combo salad. The soup comes with a pretty big slice of fresh bread (its warm!) and you select your own dressing for the salad. The Italian sausage and potato soup was a bit spicier than you think it'll be (I thought it was great!) The Italian dressing for my salad was perfect. Not too sweet/tangy/salty, and they give more than enough for your salad. Speaking of the salad - it may look plain and humble but I can't stress how FRESH it is! Crispy romaine, plump tomatoes, and juicy cucumbers. Plus there's a variety of red leaf lettuce and spinach too. In my opinion, it's a great value for a pretty large and healthy meal in downtown. Especially compared to other cafes with similar offerings. I'll definitely be back and can't wait to try more options!

I want this place to stick around! That being said I did not really like my meal. I want to believe it's on me for choosing the wrong combo but I had a couple of issues. First, at least when I went, the rice was sitting out in a separate dish and was room temperature. I would like the rice to at least be warm, even better if it had some fragrant flavor like saffron rice should but I didn't taste it. Second, I got the falafel, which is something best served fresh or it gets dried out, unfortunately it was very dry even when dipping in the tzatziki so I did not finish it. The harissa sauce mixed with tzatziki was really good so I'm hopeful that a fresh and hot falafel with warm rice would have been much better than what I had today. Willing to try again. The staff was young but sweet and helpful, no complaints there.

Parking is super easy with the complimentary structure, and the café is located on the bottom floor alongside other vendors. One thing I immediately appreciated was how well air-conditioned the entire market is--it's nice and cool, which makes sitting and eating there really comfortable. The cashier recommended the turkey pesto croissant, but suggested swapping it onto ciabatta since it's one of her favorites--and I'm so glad I trusted her. It was phenomenal. The flavors were balanced, the bread held everything together perfectly, and it felt like a step above your typical sandwich. I also had what looked like a simple salad, but the vinaigrette and candied pistachios really elevated it and made it feel more thoughtful than expected. The staff across the board were friendly and welcoming, and there's plenty of seating--whether inside the café or out in the open market area. Honestly, the value surprised me the most. I paid under $13 for everything, which is hard to beat for the quality. Definitely a spot I'll be coming back to.

Their salads were just that good and it never felt like you were eating "healthy" food. We ordered the Ono Island Ahi and the Mandarin Ginger, and flavor wise the salads themselves still hold up. Portions felt fair and the prices were reasonable in my opinion. I also appreciated that it came with two pieces of pita bread. That said, the service really took away from the experience. When we ordered, the employee took our order but did not really start making the salad. His manager had to come out, at which point he jumped a bit and then started assembling the salad. He did not ask if we wanted it tossed, which they used to do, and instead just layered everything together. The biggest disappointment came when I got home and realized my Ono Island Ahi salad had no dressing at all, not on the side and not inside. That was frustrating and honestly a letdown, especially since the dressing is a big part of what makes these salads so good. The space itself looks clean and it is very convenient being inside Kahala Mall, with plenty of parking which is always a plus. Overall, the food concept is great and the salads are still tasty, but the service is lacking and needs improvement for me to fully enjoy coming back regularly.
