Take care of your dishes in dining in

Sana'a Cafe is a stunning halal cafe! The ambiance amazing details epic branding on point! The offerings are as good as the place looks with quality in every aspect! Pulling up in the strip mall you don't expect much. But when you cross that threshold... wow! Prepare to be teleported to a little slice of Yemen in Elk Grove! When searching for vegan options this place came up. I literally had no idea what to expect and let alone that it was a Yemen establishment. But as a coffee snob my favorite coffee is the a light roast Yemen Mocha beans but they didn't have any. The staff were wonderful patient, kind, knowledgeable, radiating warmth and pride in the establishment. They do have a plethora of milk alternatives Coconut, Oat, Almond... Though for vegan food they only had the potato fatayer. I ordered the SANA'A LATTE and you can choose the level of sweetness. I got the lowest amount as I'm not big on sugar. I also got the potato fatayer. The surley teen (my kid) got the spinach feta and potato fatayer. No sauces given nor needed these were delish! Perfect balance of flavors and like a baked samosa or turnover (the non-flakey dough variety) The edges were crisp, the middle with stuffing was moist, not soggy, exquisite baking perfection! They don't make their offerings in-house but wow did they do their research on sourcing quality goods from local bakers, and premium ingredients! The Sana'a latte is their best selling latte and it was so good, that I had to order my second choice the rose latte to go! Had I stayed any longer I would have gotten more to go! If you are in the area check this place out! It's in my top 3 picks for coffee!

I had this coffee lounge saved in my IG as a place to visit. And finally had a chance to stop in. Loved the decor probably because there was so much gold. Lol. The smell of coffee resonated. They also had on display pastries and desserts. So I decided to try the cheesecake and after talking with owner, he kindly wanted me to try the coffee cake. Flavor is a little different from what I'm used to to but I'd be interested in knowing the ingredients they may use. I also ordered a caramel macchiato. Which has been my go-to coffee for awhile now at other places. But Sana's coffee is so good. The coffee was smooth, no bitter taste. I havent been able to go back but it keeps lingering in the back of mind to return. Meanwhile, I've been telling friends and family to try it.

Sana'a latte, biscoff milk cake, dubai chocolate milk cake, coffee cake and kataifi
Isabelle R.

We ordered the Sana'a latte, Biscoff milk cake, Dubai chocolate milk cake, coffee cake, and kataifi. The Sana'a latte was enjoyable, though I'm not much of a coffee enthusiast, so I can't speak too much on how it compares to other coffee drinks. The kataifi was by far the sweetest item we tried and ended up being our least favorite. It was quite hard, and while the person at the counter mentioned that it was almost the same as kunafeh, we didn't find that to be the case. I can see the inspiration behind it, but the texture and overall experience were pretty different. As for the milk cakes, they all share a very similar base flavor. The main difference comes from the toppings rather than the cake itself. The Biscoff and Dubai chocolate milk cakes were both excellent and probably the best items we ordered. The coffee cake was also very good, with a strong coffee flavor that really came through.

I've been waiting to try Yemeni coffee in Elk Grove since my friends rave about the Sacramento location. The service is so hospitable and the woman at the counter was patient work my questions. It is truly beautiful inside . Gold and black accents. It is truly a community space. I'd say this not a place for studying but for meeting friends and family. The coffee was delicious. I had the Sana'a latte- I love cardamom and the flavor was at the forefront. The coffee is strong but not overpowering. The flavors are a great balance. Out of all the drinks. Everyone liked mine the best. Will definitely be back insha'allah! I hope they get to expand even further.

04.26.26 cakes and pastries specialties from the Middle East

Yemeni coffee and Sweet treats [Elk Grove CA] Met with some friends and checked out this hot new coffee spot. They have many locations across the Bay Area and Sacramento, this one is located in Elk Grove. The menu included authentic, traditional Yemeni coffee and chai, also a variety of pastries from across the Middle East. We found a nice section in the back of the shop that was semi private from the main dining area. I'd say the area could hold around 10 to a dozen people comfortably maybe. There were 7 in our party. Place order at the counter and guests will be given buzzers when order(s) are ready for pickup. Individual orders were placed for coffee and chai tea but it was the desserts that caught my eye: Nutella Milkcake, Honeycomb, and Chicken Musakhan. I'd like to come back for the Dubai Milkcake or Dubai Cheesecake, anyone would like to join me?... anyone? LoL Plenty of parking in a shopping center. The cafe's grand opening was yesterday, 4/25/26. Trivia: Sana'a Cafe is named after the capital city of Yemen. Review #4021

We had a party of seven and Sana'a Cafe Elk Grove very accommodating. We were in the niche in the corner and still had room for five more people. I stuck with my traditional Turkish coffee which was delicious. I share my Turkish coffee and got someone else hooked on it. I also got the honeycomb bread. Balance flavors of a cream type cheese inside and honey drizzled over the bread... this is one to get, you won't be disappointed. Even with their grand opening jitters we were all helped quickly and great hospitality.

Strawberry matcha (kind of mixed) and Carmel macchiato latte.

Crowd has died down but the place is still busy. Inside looks clean and has very nice decor with ample seating inside and out. Service was good and the drinks / food came out quickly. We got the Carmel macchiato, strawberry matcha and a Dubai cheesecake. The Carmel macchiato latte is great, just the right amount of sweetness and coffee. Wasn't watered down and had perfect amount of ice to where it wasn't just ice with little of the drink. The strawberry matcha was disappointing, you can taste the matcha but that's where it ends. No hint of strawberry, it wasn't sweet, and honestly just tasted like matcha on top of milk. The Dubai cheesecake was okay, sweet and a hint of spice that I'm not too keen of. Most of the drinks seem to be a dollar more for just being iced. Overall, decent if you get the right drink but may break the budget.

Cute shop with huge space. Customer service was so so. We arrived right at opening time and put in our order. Quick service. My daughter and I really enjoyed the space, our drinks and snacks. Cute little place to hang out and chill. If you like to explore new cafes, give this place a try.

Sana'a Cafe is a unique Middle Eastern coffee shop that's a fresh welcome to Elk Grove's growing restaurant scene. Upon entering, the cafe, we heard upbeat music and felt transported to another place with their decorations. There are many tables and comfortable chairs. The service is fast and the prices were reasonable; but be careful, all the à la cart food items adds up really fast. I like the ceramic drink cups, the heavier plates, and the round wooden serving tray. They are open late and that's perfect given that many places close by 9/10pm in the area. Even in the later evenings, they had a good stock available. I've had many of their drinks and food and they all taste great! My favorite drink is the hot Biscoff Latte with Oat Milk. My favorite food is the Dubai Milkcake. Having been to other similar places like this outside of California, Sana'a Cafe feels authentic and is at par with other high quality cafés.

Came into the area for an event and wanted a little pick-me-up, so I searched for something close by with great reviews. Saan Coffee popped up and I figured let's see what all the hype is about... and honestly, this place didn't disappoint at all. The service was amazing and super prompt. The interior is decorated really nicely too -- clean, modern, and a vibe you can actually relax in. I'm still pretty new to the whole coffee journey so I kept it simple and ordered a vanilla latte, and it was spot on. Smooth, balanced, and exactly what I needed. Overall, great stop, friendly people, and a latte that hit the spot. I'll definitely be back when I'm in the area again.

This was my first time trying this place, and my first thought when I walked in there was how beautifully decorated the cafe was. There are many tables that you are able to sit at and there is also much to look at. The service was great. They made her drinks fast and the cashier was very kind. She explained what all the drinks tasted like when we asked her a few questions about them. I got the rose latte it was pretty good but I was expecting more of a floral taste. Overall I'd recommend this place to anyone wanting a good coffee!

I tried the biscoff latte, chicken musakhan rollup, and pistachio milk cake. Also shown - oreo cheesecake

Mini exotic getaway in a cup! Sanaa Cafe has opened in Elk Grove! Wheter you are craving savory snacks - like my fave chicken musakhan (shredded chicken rollup with onions and sumac for a citrusy flavor in a toasted lavosh bread) to sweet like their pistachio milk cake (similar to tres leches cake) and even baklava - this place has your cravings covered. They have he usual lattes or the biscoff latte, too...but my all time fave is their Yemeni Chai - which can be done as a proper Yemeni tea service in a teapot and traditional cups...to savor and elevate your break time.

Finally a coffee shop that stays open past 4pm! This place is insane and I mean it in the best way possible. I ordered a pistacchio Latte and WOW. It was incredible it was perfectly sweet and balanced and the coffee itself tasted amazing. Youre really getting a quality craft coffee here. The location is great off the free way for people driving in and out of town and there is plenty of parking. The inside is of course very pretty and was set up to maximize seating which is very welcoming. I ended up coming back for the Biscoff Coffee and that too was YUMMY! Dont forget to try a pastry they are also very delish. This place is a solid coffee shop and I see it lasting in elk grove for a really long time as they have championed good coffee, flavoring and most importantly consistency!

Ask the Community - Sana'a Cafe

Are any of the specialty drinks or the Yemeni Latte sweet? (Sorry, I'm not that familiar with Yemeni coffee)

Not too sweet, it's more in line with the spice flavor profile of chai, such as cardamom, cinnamon, cloves

She was extremely put together and professional. I loved everything about her and her company! From the cute business cards, to the cake tasting/presentation, her communication and of course the end result. Amanda made the process very easy for us from choosing cake flavors, the dessert table and design, and even our delicious sugar cookie favors. She met with us a couple times to discuss designs and our vision. She was extremely gracious despite the many changes- I was extremely indecisive. I couldn't decide on our cake size or how many desserts to have at our dessert table (my eyes are bigger than my stomach and I wanted way too much). Amanda helped me select the type of dessert she felt would make sense and also be visually pleasing. A month before the wedding, I finally settled on wedding cake design...or designs. Amanda provided her input, incorporated the different designs I wanted and even tweaked the design and it turned out better than what I (and my husband) wanted. She was a sweetheart from start to finish. Aside from her amazing personality her cakes and desserts are amazing! All of our guests were raving about the desserts and especially the cake. We ended up getting a 4 tier cake with each layer being a different flavor (salted caramel, birthday cake, chocolate, and vanilla with blackberry). I'm sad I did not get to try every layer, but for the two I did. I loved! We even had guests at the wedding that do not like cake enjoy a piece and wanted more! We still get inquiries from family and friends about who made our cake and dessert table. I could not have been more satisfied with Amanda's work and I look forward to using her again for special occasions and parties! Thank you so much Amanda for your service and begin so patient with all of my indecisiveness!

She was very organized and professional and really took the time to understand what we were looking for in our wedding cake. We also very much appreciated that she worked with our coordinator to go over timelines, as that was one less thing we needed to worry about. Highly recommend her for anyone having an event/wedding in the area.

I would say the only thing I would like added is a confirmation the day before pickup letting me know the order was ready. But other than that the whole process was very smooth . It was very moist, spiced just right and had a lot of the cream cheese frosting that everyone loves! But it also wasn't extremely sweet which I appreciated. QUITE A FEW people at the party stated that they were not normally fans of carrot cake because of the big chunks of nuts and raisins in it...but RAVED about how they loved this carrot cake (it didn't have those things)! A rich complex flavor. It had a little bit of ginger in it, you could definitely taste the ginger, but it did not overwhelm the rest of the porridge. The chicken was good, and for the mushroom, they used black mushrooms, which have a deeper flavor than regular mushrooms. So very good. It looked like a small bowl, but I couldn't finish it. Some came home with me, and it reheated very well. It also came with Chinese donuts to put in the porridge. Chinese donuts are a little bit different. The green tea was very good, and they didn't overdo it with the lemon, and that hotdog roll that I had later, the pastry was delicious with just a little bit of a "chew" to it, they were definitely high-quality hot dogs, and it wasn't just green onion.
