This place fucking sucks. They took 40 minutes to get my bud light and skipped my order when my table got theirs.

I have a son that has allergies so going out to eat is a gamble. We decided to try out this restaurant cause it was on the beach and close by. When we walked in we were greeted by the host and the owner. The owner acknowledged our concerns and made food especially for our kid with allergies. The food was good. A little pricey but we will be coming back cause of the service. I highly recommend this place. The view, service and food are worth the visit. read more

First time visitor, the spot is nice but so is any open bar on the beach. Because its the beach. The place has an upper deck and one table that sits over the beach up there. We sat there. Initially it wasnt available and we got our first drinks and orders put in along the little bar that faces the beach. We got mimosas. They tasted badly. Had a rotten aftertaste. We returned those and exchanged for other drinks which were ok. I had the shrimp and grits with a pepper reduction. There was more cheese than grits and the whole thing seemed like it was covered in chili powder. It was red and orange in color. It was very spicy and i couldnt finish it. Anyone who knows me knows i love spicy food and i love shrimp and grits and this was a waste of money, it was 19$ i ate the shrimp and maybe a portion of the grits before i had to quit it!!!! You have to know when too much spice is too much. Now, my friends kid's-meal chicken tender meal came out piping hot and very tasty. So i gave 3 stars. For location, the weather and the chicken tenders. The service was pretty shitty, but it was a Saturday at lunch and we had moved table for the better view (only ten feet away from our original view but whatever). We definitely felt forgotten about for about 20 min, considered going to the bar to get our check but i started writing this review instead. She came back, first time since she took our order 45 min prior.... we had used whoever we could wave down for our drinks and other requests. Im sorry but im not leaving a normal tip. It felt like we ordered take out and ate it here. Didnt feel like we were being waited on. Probably will never come back. These beach bars are a dime a dozen when you dont live local. read more

Wish we had kept driving past this place. Burger on a plate and nothing more. No lettuce, pickle or chips. Had to ask for silverware and napkins, sugar for my ice tea and mustard for my Hamburg. Wife liked her Mahi Mahi taco and my burger was cooked as I like it. Little pricey for what we got. At least dress the plate up a little bit with a pickle and chips. Live and learn! Owner must have had this place for years and just doesn't give a rats ass about the business anymore, because it is a great location, it would be perfect for a Great business opportunity for someone who cared. read more

We just had lunch here on the weekend and by lunch I mean we ordered ahead and picked it up and brought it out to the beach. Don't expect 5 star food but the food wasn't bad , it was typical chicken tenders from frozen and the BLT was fresh. I will say that the menu is quite extensive. This place is absolutely horrible. The food and drinks are WAY overpriced. The sandwiches don't even come with fries...that's an extra $2. The service is flighty at best. I've been here once for brunch and it was fine, great service. I came for dinner, and it was horrible. We didn't even eat, we were offered seating upstairs or down and welcomed to look around. We chose upstairs. We sat there for a solid 5-7 minutes with no menu or human contact made. Bartender finally showed her face, and dropped menus off. Didn't introduce herself, NOTHING. We sat for another 10-15 minutes and not a SINGLE person came or looked our way. We left and went somewhere else. Terrible employees I'm sorry. Not really a great meal for some of our party, but perfectly fine for the others. Great service though! We came at dusk, and asked for one of the many tables with a view. We were seated after a short wait, which was nice, and the table had a good view of the beach. HOWEVER: it began to get dark soon after we got there, and there was not a single light above our table. The nearest light was at least five feet behind us and was weak. Now, the rest of the restaurant was lit fine. We just happened to be on the end. While it wasn't a problem for a while, I couldn't see my food well enough when I got it to distinguish what was what. Now on the food: my father had the catch of the day and told me it was actually pretty good. My mother wasn't fond of her crab cake sandwich, however. My meal was definitely the worst of our group. I had the shrimp and grits, and while the grits and shrimp were good, it was all covered in an extremely spicy sauce that wasn't mentioned in the menu description. Some may like the dish though, given my low tolerance for spiciness. Our server (Kirstie, I believe) was engaging and attentive. Very good at her job. read more

Between the music, the patrons and the staff, you cannot even carry on a conversation with your partner The fish dip was fine, but no self respecting Floridian uses capers and green peppers as part of the ingredients. They serve the fish dip with tortilla chips! Flash fried fish and chips really means deep, deep, deep fried. The French fries had so much salt on them we needed a gallon of water to get us home. Great view. Food is good not great, prices are pretty wild. 16$ for a tiny cheese quesadilla with no sides and no drink. I recommend the blackened mahi tacos but even those are tiny and they only give you 2 of them for 14$ I think it was. Definitely not worth 7$ a taco. Also our waitress was really awesome but that and the view was probably the highlight of the dinner. read more

Nice location right off A1A that has patio/balcony seating overlooking Melbourne Beach. You can access the beach itself via the rear entrance/exit and bring drinks out with you. There's live music upstairs in this 2-story bar/restaurant. Bartenders were pretty slow seeing as the place wasn't that crowded but were struggling to fill orders and sometimes even acknowledge new patrons. The place is fighting with nearby beachgoers for parking spots as they were hard to come by. read more

The best thing about this place is the view. It's by the water so you can eat and enjoy the wonderful view. It was my 1st time today, and I actually went for brunch. I couldn't do Brunch because I got there at 11:30am and they stop serving Breakfast at 11am. I wish they would serve breakfast much longer specially on a Sunday. They do have 2 all day Breakfast option, BLT and waffle with fried eggs, and shrimp on top. I picked the 2nd option, wrong choice :( it does mention its spicy, didn't realize it would be that spicy. It was way too spicy for me.. Didn't like the taste.. I wouldn't wanna have it again :) I will definitely go back and try something else. The 3 stars is based off of the food I had, I think it's a really cool place to hang out. read more

I absolutely love this restaurant.. Family always eats there and Melbourne is our favorite beach! The food and atmosphere is very nice.

The service was very good. They listened when I explained a food allergy with one of my children and made sure to prepare her food safely. When you arrive here expect to have incredible views and atmosphere. Complete ocean front restaurant bar vibe. It was busy but not full when we arrived. The fish dip was amazing! Great place for a cocktail on the beach! Place was a little on the dirty side but what you would expect from it being a beach bar. We had a confusion with one of the bartenders when we put our food in. Apparently she was supposed to ask what cheese and if the tomatoes and lettuce on it were ok...she never did and we got two burgers with no cheese and nothing else on it except 2 slices of bacon because we had asked to add that. The upstairs is adults only. Pretty much every where you sit you can see the ocean. Maddie the bartender was great and helpful she explained a lot of the menu specials and gave us menus when no one else did. Wow... as someone who has worked in the service industry for ages it's incredibly rare that I would leave a negative review. We were barely acknowledged by the staff, our server was ambivalent at best, dinner took about 45 minutes to be delivered and the food itself was truly disappointing. The food was actually awful. So,so bad. They were out of what I initially ordered so I settled for a bowl of lobster bisque and I shit you not it was cambell tomato soup with a handful of brine shrimp tossed in. Stop. My husband, 6 year old son and I went for lunch yesterday , early afternoon on a Sunday. We were seated and waited 25 minutes for a drink. We got one only because my husband had to find a waitress and ask for one. We were all served in tiny kids cups while the family near us that showed up well after us got theirs in large adult cups immediately and by the same server. Then we waited again to get a starter order started and our sons lunch because by now he was hungry and restless. The starters came and another long long wait for our actual lunch. By this time our son had enough, wanted to play on the beach and I ordered a pina colada because I had had enough of watching other people get seated and served right away. I'm not a drinker at all but even I couldn't taste any alcohol in that $9 drink. There were no prices on the menu so imagine our surprise when our $93 check came. I know people come for the atmosphere but we live local so miles of beaches are always there. Sorry but this place was a huge thumbs down. We'll spend our money elsewhere. read more

Eight others and I were coming from a morning wedding and all were ready for beach views and a drink! Sand on the Beach offered exactly that. My pina colada was divine. Everyone seemed happy with their meals and the food choices were quite extensive. Our server was super helpful at handling our table, including with several youth and picky eaters. He was friendly and made it an enjoyable experience. I ordered the Buratta Caprese which was pretty good, but I was so shocked at the small size of it for the price (in their defense they did give me a good hunk of buratta, however). In the end, the drinks, service, and the view on the deck are the best part of Sand on the Beach. read more
