Eight others and I were coming from a morning wedding and all were ready for beach views and a drink! Sand on the Beach offered exactly that. My pina colada was divine. Everyone seemed happy with their meals and the food choices were quite extensive. Our server was super helpful at handling our table, including with several youth and picky eaters. He was friendly and made it an enjoyable experience. I ordered the Buratta Caprese which was pretty good, but I was so shocked at the small size of it for the price (in their defense they did give me a good hunk of buratta, however). We were with our puppy, so we were able to dine on a area away from the main dining room. It was actually nice and private, though not the best views in the place, I am sure. Liked to stop for a cocktail and a bite after work would meet friends end up spending the evening and having supper but now we go to squid lips,bunkys or fishbone Willy's. First of all the view is amazing. I can't think of a better place to eat and be on the beach. I love that beach is so secluded. It's really a perfect atmosphere. Second of all the food. We went for breakfast. I had the Sand Pancakes (pancakes with strawberries, blueberries and bananas on top. The pancakes were seriously the size of my head. And they were so light and fluffy. They were really amazing. Some of the other people in our group went for more adventurous items like waffles with crab meat. I would not waste your time. Food was not what I would call good. My sandwich was alright. BBQ sandwich was dry and the cheeseburger is over cooked. One highlight was the chicken salad one in our group ordered. The flies the flies the flies. Do something about the flies. Sorry not a do over as this was not my first time. From the moment we walked in with our service chihuahua we knew we'd found "our place" on Melbourne Beach. Our server, Simon made great recommendations. We started with the Wicked appetizer with seafood and we scooped it up with tortilla chips. Fabulous! We chose salads entrees and they were fresh, delicious and heaped with bleu cheese, bacon and chicken. Next time we will try the fish and chips or shrimp and grits. Went to this restaurant with visiting family. Worst meal I've had in a long time. Ordered Fish and Chips and when they arrived the fish was so flat you could only taste the breading. No flavor, no real fish inside. Spoke to our waiter and was told sorry..but no offer of a discount. Considering the price of $26 for this meal, it was a waste of time and money. You would be wasting your time and money here- one hour wait for wings followed by dried food, followed by unapologetic stares from ignorant sraff. I saw so many reviews that were 3 and less, but I wanted a view. My party of 5 had different drinks and meals. All of our drinks were great and all of our meals were extremely tasty. So, don't believe everything you read! Definitely going back! Sand burger, shrimp and grits, mahi sand salad, bang bang shrimp, cucumber crush, pina colada to name a few! There was a little wait for the actual meal, but maybe because the kitchen was downstairs from where we were eating. BTW view was fantastic! read more

I took 8 family members there because I had there shrimp and grits in the past and loved it...this time the dish was definitely burnt, tasted burnt, bottom was black, we sent it back and they remade it (after an hour) and it still tasted burnt. We stopped by here for lunch while passing through town and had a wonderful experience. Atmosphere is a little sticky/grungy, as any good Florida beach bar should be. We were surprised and delighted by the variety of interesting menu items - taking items that would be standard somewhere else, and adding a little twist. For example, a lobster Reuben - a BLT with a fried egg on top - fish tacos made with ahi tuna. Cool stuff! We loved the food, the price was right. Our server was fantastic. View was picture-perfect. I went there with friends because I had a wonderful breakfast there a few years ago. What the hell happened to this place? This restaurant has failed on all levels. The food was cold and tasted horrible. The restaurant was dirty and unkempt. I was so disappointed as the service was slow and my order was wrong. I had to get my own silverware, and refills were only served at high and low tide. If it wasn't for the location of the restaurant it would have been shut down long ago. I implore you to not waste your money or time here. enough said! I would have complained but I thought I would do it here so as to save as many people as possible the pain of the experience that I went through. read more

This review is based on the food at Sand on the beach. The location is great. Atmosphere is good. And quite frankly we had really good service and servers. This place is good solely for drinks and that's it. I won't get into the price of things, but the food was terrible here. I was with 4 people. Everything we got was terrible. Literally everything. From the ketchup in the bottles to the cole slaw right out of the bag that the cook forgot to add dressing to. You are better off going to Wawa or Wendy's nearby for dinner and just having drinks here. Whoever owns this place needs to retrain their chefs or get real chefs. Sad to say this place's time has come, which is clear. Do not go. I was told the food was less then so-so when I came, but I figured I just wanted to eat+drink on the beach. read more

I have to give 4 stars based on the service and the location. We were greeted with a hostess and a bartender. We were advice to sit where we liked if we wanted. So we went upstairs to see a better view of the ocean and the beach. I was a bit nervous as I thought we would never get service. But we had a server come over as soon as we sat down. They switched off on servers. Which was fine because we never had a empty stomach or workout a cold beer in our hand. We will be returning for sure. The food was really good as well just nothing to rave about. Since we have been here we have not been impressed with the food in the area. And this was by far the best. read more

Sands is truly a hidden gem. I live nearby and go there frequently. It's one of the few places south of Cocoa Beach that is truly on the sand. Having a drink and watching the waves break on the sand puts it in it's own class. The food and service is good too. BBQ wings for an appetizer and they were delicious. We split the seared tuna salad & the shrimp tacos. Everything was fresh & delicious and reasonably priced. This has one of our "go to" spot for breakfast over the many years we visit Satellite Beach. Although they have moved, the food is still spot on. However, I feel it's lost some of its beachside diner charm at the new location. If I had to put my finger on it, it's dark....the ceilings are black and the interior lacks the natural light of the old location. Oddly, this negativity affected my overall dining experience. Again, the food was spot on....the old location was 5-stars all day long, but it's dropped a star at the new location. Lighten it up inside and see if we can get that star back. read more

First, the location is THE best. Perfect right on the beach. The seafood omelet was exceptional and the service was fast and friendly. Set the bar lower if it's a sunny Saturday and the place is packed with beer drinkers and a backed up kitchen. That's not a criticism but other reviewers don't seem to understand that. read more

Despite a beautiful location and pretty good food, the Sand punished us with terrible service. One of five lunch entrees, a mahi mahi sandwich, failed to arrive after a 30 minute wait. When alerted, the staff said we could retain the order but expect a 20 minute wait. Forty minutes later, sandwichless, we asked for the bill. It included the mahi mahi.
