It has been a while since I've came back, but the food remains amazing. Great flavors, good portion sizes, and quick service. $13 after tax for a bowl of delicious noodles can't be beat in this economy. Only thing, is that I wish they stayed open a little later for dinner!

One of my fav noodle shops in oc. Their chewy clear noodle is legit aka hu tieu dai. Prices are so reasonable at 12 bucks. Their xi Quach has lots of meat and tendon. Good size portions. Small restaurant and parking on the street is easier than in the parking lot

Came here for a quick lunch. The pricing is very cheap but that's also reflected in the portion. They basic concept is you choose from a set of meat and then the options are which noodles you want and if you want it dry or soup format. I'd you choose dry I believe they still give you some broth with your dish. The flavor of everything was good, I just wish there was more portion or maybe a large size.

First time trying hu tieu was a great experience at Hu Tieu De Nhat! I was in the area as I started a new job nearby, and remembered seeing this place. When I came in, it was fairly empty with only a couple customers, and was allowed to sit wherever I chose. I ordered the Hu Tieu Mi Nam Vang, which is the combination Hu tieu with rice AND egg noodles, which I very much appreciated having the option of. I ordered the soup version, but after having my order taken I realized dry might be more enjoyable in the hot weather, and asked if it was too late to change my order. They were very accommodating and happy to switch things before making my food. The food came out pretty quickly, alongside the Chinese donut I ordered to enjoy with the soup (which still was served in a small portion on the side of the dry noodles). The noodles were very well cooked, and satisfyingly chewy. The sauce was sweet and savory with familiar but slightly new Vietnamese flavors. I think my preference leaned towards the rice noodles as I like a more soft and chewy noodle, but both were very good. Their table condiments - pickled garlic, peppers, and chili oil, also complimented the food nicely. My server was sure to refill my water often. I'd absolutely recommend this restaurant to anyone looking to try the dish. P.S. the restaurant takes cash only for checks under $20. I was not prepared for this and during our exchange I embarrassingly forgot to leave a cash tip. I will definitely be back and will use that opportunity to make up that tip lol.

Yum! My friends and I stumbled upon this spot after we saw it on Yelp. We went on a Sunday afternoon around 2pm and it was packed! We had to wait a few minutes for a table. The place is definitely a hole in the wall, a little smelly from the pickled garlic + mam tom. They took our order and food came out within 10 minutes! The broth was light, flavorful, and hearty. Love the variety of meats and I got the chewy noodle. It was filling and didn't seem too expensive! I will definitely be returning back!

Came here for the first time on a Sunday just before noon and there was about a 15 minute wait or so (we were the second party in line). Parking was easy, though the lot is relatively small. There was available street parking, if needed. It's a small spot, but they sure get the job done. Decent pricing at $12 per bowl, hearty soup, clean tasting meat/shrimp, and lovely sides (pickled garlic, jalapenos, and chili oil). I got #5 (Dai Mi nam Vang), and I love the chewy clear noodles. Mi was OK imo. Would't get the $3 Chinese donut again for the portion. Dad liked their Cafe Sua Da ($4). Hot tea was also flavorful ($1). Love these authentic spots. Simple, nothing fancy, and affordable. Fast service, and pay at the cashier. Highly recommend.

This place stays busy, but the staff handles the crowd well. service was both friendly and efficient. The interior is definitely on the cramped side. I tried the #2 Hu Tieu Mi Nam Vang (Dry). The flavors were solid, though the sauce leaned a bit too sweet for my personal taste. However, a quick hit of Sriracha and some pickled garlic balanced it out perfectly. Overall, a very decent meal and worth a visit!

Always my go-to place for hủ tiếu! Broth is refreshing & love how I can pick the different noodles. It's up to your preference in texture. Staff is very accommodating. Recommend bringing cash because there is an extra charge for credit card!

Cheap eats bang for buck! Ordered 2 bowls for under $30 and we were both full. This is a small mom and pop shop serving dry and soup noodles. We got 2 dry noodles one with bbq pork and one with pork and shrimp. Favorite part was the crispy pork skin we added on side as well as the pickled garlic and chilis that are on the table. Compliments the noodles so well and gives a nice fresh kick to every bite. The meat was a bit dry and had some undesired porky flavor. Soup tasted ok but I can't complain about the price. Definitely a great spot keeping prices low and food quality high! There is seating indoors and outside but it's really small. Went at 2pm and had to wait haha. Parking is also small and tight. They accept card and cash with 3% surcharge for card.

There is nothing I love more than a bowl of hu tieu dai...chewy, but with a gentle snap. I especially love hu tieu kho (dry). The traditional bowl here is nam vang (Cambodian style). Noodles are seasoned with seasoned oil and fortified soy sauce. The bowl is then topped with poached shrimp, boiled pork, quail eggs, various offal, crispy pork skin, herbs and a ton of black pepper. It's served with the house broth on the side with some fish cake. There's pickled garlic and hot sauce on the table for a choose your own adventure toppings. This is an eat and go kind of place. There's no time or space to linger. Service is really efficient. These bowls are excellent and comforting. They are almost as good as the bowls my Mom made growing up. Lots of great and clean flavors. Squeeze of lime and some extra herbs and bean sprouts make it a fantastic meal.

Yum!! Finally got to try this place since they were closed the last time we were in OC. Came on a Saturday afternoon and waited 15 min to get seated. Small restaurant with some outdoor seating. Got the #2 and it was yummy! Pretty good and compared to SJ, you don't have to use as much broth with the noodles. Everything tasted super fresh and portions were good. They ran out of the fried donut and corn milk around 1 so would def come earlier next time. Will be back! Limited parking.

Love this little mom and pop hu tieu spot! I ordered the dry egg noodles with BBQ pork (mì xá xíu) and it came with a side of soup. The noodles were savory and perfectly cooked. The soup is a great palette cleanser as well. Parking and seating are a bit limited, so definitely come outside of peak dining times. Staff are friendly and food comes out really quickly. This spot is super affordable and delicious, highly recommend coming to support this small business!

Service chill, can pay at register in the front, like typical viet restaraunt where they kinda leave you to it. The Grandpa's noodles was good (a dryer noodle), great portion, meat was tender, the radish cube looking things was crispy bits of pork skin. The menu is unique here and mostly in vietnamese. I think I had wished for some sauce to go with the noodles (but I understand its mostly with the soup on the side), good tightness of the meatballs :D... They have the classic condiments on the side, the pickled garlic isn't very crunchy and kind of on the sweet side, the pickled chili does have that slight acidic kick that works well. I modified my noodle to egg for a dollar. The soup was good, on the more umami soy/beef side than clear. The wontons were abundant too, instead of a chili oil the sauce is more like a tangy sweet chili vinegrette thing. My accompaniment got a garlic noodle soup (fried garlic oil) that was rich and also in a huge bowl. For the price and portion its a hidden gem for someone who needs to feed a family. I was very appalled and I stood there wondering if he really just said that to me after I had an experience. I asked him why he didn't want me to be a customer anymore. And he turns to a customer to ring them out, ignoring me. So I waited til he was done with that transaction & repeated my question. He flat out said "because you're annoying." WOW.
