Sandrino's is the perfect intimate date spot. They do not take reservations and they are always busy so you really need to make sure that you have allocated at least two hours for dinner. All of their pizzas are made in their oven and the sauces are all homemade. The owners are very sweet which makes this place feel welcoming! I found this restaurant randomly as I was looking up places in Sausalito and wow am I glad I did; Sandrino is such a gem! Eating here felt like being transported back to Italy, both in the ambience of the restaurant and the quality of the food. We came on a Friday afternoon around lunchtime and were able to get seated right away, although it started filling up almost immediately so I think we had good timing. We were greeted by the owner upon entering, who was very friendly. He noticed my friends and I were from Hawaii (from our IDs) and told us about how they visited Oahu before and actually wanted to open a restaurant there. I hope someday those plans to open a restaurant in Hawaii become a reality because I would love to eat here again. We started with the focaccia bread, which he explained was baked daily in their kitchen. The bread was so soft and every bite had more and more flavor, hands down the best focaccia bread I've ever had. We then moved onto the lasagna, which was cooked perfectly and tasted homemade. But the real winner were the pizzas. We ordered the Bufalina pizza and the Trentina. Whenever I eat pizza, the two things I look for are the crust and the sauce. Both were perfect - the crust was crispy but not too thin, and there was just the right amount of sauce, which was also very tasty. The ingredients tasted very fresh and you could just tell everything was homemade. My favorite was definitely the Bufalina (mainly because I love cherry tomatoes), but both were so good. These pizzas are comparable to ones I've had in Italy, so they're an absolute must-try if you visit the restaurant. It's been over a week since I visited Sandrino and I haven't stopped thinking about those pizzas! I'll be sure to visit Sausalito again just so I can come back here. read more

The food was honestly not a 4.6 rating that it has . The pizza was pretty mid . $22 bucks for some thin small pizza they charge up the ass for nothing. After we had lunch here we had to go eat poke across the street much cheaper and much better . Service was whatever nothing special . I just left, and I can proudly say that it is not only my favorite, but by far one of the greatest restaurants I can recommend. Went here on a recommendation from a local I met in Hanson's Gallery. Hands down best authentic Italian food I've had in a long time. The burrata was delicious, it melted in my mouth. The bread served with it was warm and perfect. I ordered the Bufalina pizza and it delicious, the crust was just right. Tiny little spot feels so authentic. The main man working inside has an Italian accent, photos of family, restaurant, & friends all over the walls, and a tiny but cozy space with a couple tables. Sandrino is a hidden gem in Sausalito, best known for their delicious, wood fire oven pizza! We came here recently for lunch on Sunday and everything was set up for outdoor dining. The street was closed to traffic and outdoor tables and chairs were set up for social distancing dining. The restaurant has a side window that opens up to the sidewalk, which is perfect for distancing. I went in and ordered the Bufalina Pizza, one of their most popular pizzas! The Bufalina Pizza is made with buffalo mozzarella, tomato sauce, cherry tomatoes, and basil. The quality of the pizza was top-notch as the crust on the pizza was cooked perfectly and ingredients were so simple, so fresh, and so delicious! The pizza crust was thin and crispy and the buffalo mozzarella cheese was delicious! It reminded me of delicious pizza from Italy. The owners were very polite and were quick to get started on making the pizza, but it did take some time for the pizza to come out. When the pizza is ready, they call you from their walk-up window. It's a perfect setting for social distancing dining. We had a very enjoyable pizza outside, while distancing from others. If you are in the Sausalito area, definitely get a pizza from Sandrino's! Both the Margherita and the Rustica are delicious. The pizza dough is thin and crispy with a slight hint of char. I could taste a hint of lemon in the Margherita. It helps enhance the flavor of the tomato sauce and the mozzarella, making the pizza tastes not as heavy. The Rustica is more flavorful with the bacon, parmesan and rosemary. Low quality for very high price. I went to Sandrino last night for the first time and the last. They were understaffed, very busy with in-house customers and take out customers. We tried to give them the benefit of the doubt because of this but the food was just bad. Caesar salad claimed to be made with anchovies in dressing but it was tasteless and my dinner partner thinks made with mayonnaise. Ewww. But the worst is they served us cold pizza. It was clear the pizza had been sitting because the crust had gone flat and the cheese was starting to dull. We should have complained but felt badly they were so busy. We love this cozy place! Usually we take burrata salad, cotto ricotta pizza w added porcini (which is amazing). Today we tried the daily special ravioli w spinach and ricotta. It was soo good! We came to this spot as a group of 5. Ordered 2 pizzas and a calzone. The food was made fresh. The pizza crust was so crisp and with a generous amount of topping. Like the other reviews, we all become big fans of the bufalina pizza afterwards. The calzone was amazing as well! 10/10 for food and service. Will be coming back to this spot! Not at all friendly or flexible. It was our first visit, mid week and not busy, kind of a random walk in from strolling down Bridgway. We looked their menu over and despite there not being a vegan pizza option listed, we inquired if we ordered the Margherita if they would swap out the mozzarella for a vegetable. The answer was a vibrant NO! You can remove the cheese, you can add additional toppings but you will receive nothing as a replacement if you remove an item. They charge $3.50 if I wanted to add Mozzarella so I didn't think it was horrible to ask if I could add a $3.00 veggie replacement. I was told they add extra sauce as a replacement to the Mozzarella. I wasn't asking for extra sauce. The pizza's I saw coming out of the oven looked saucy enough. We went back and forth for a minute about this, uncomfortably so. They had zero customer service skills and stuck to their NO answer. It was the guy making the pizza that gave me the most grief for asking. The hostess seemed to be trying. We ordered a pizza despite being completely turned off by their rudeness and added a veggie which was an additional $5. The pizza was boxed and went left to eat outside. It was way, way too saucy. They had dumped what seemed like a full can of red sauce on the modesty sized pizza. It was nearly impossible to pick up and eat as it slopped sauce from the already soggy crust giving you no edge to work with. Mind you, we had the box open to eat the pizza within 3 minutes of picking it up so it wasn't like it sat for 30 minutes. Not being at all flexible with a customer's dietary concerns is a big miss on their part. Had they worked with me on some type of Mozzarella to veggie swap and not added so much sauce without requesting it, they may have had a return customer. read more

Good food, with a couple of caveats. The big one is speed. This place has a very "European" style and you should expect to spend the better part of an afternoon or an evening here if you want to eat here. Service is very slow (if you like this kind of thing, you might call it relaxed and unrushed). People normally spend about one and a half to two hours here, so expect a long wait if you're in line behind anyone and multiple tables aren't finishing up. The other big one is price. Sausalito is an expensive tourist trap with not much going for it in terms of food. There are a couple exceptions, but most of the "good" places around here, like Sandrino, are more in the "pretty good for the area, but wildly overpriced, even by SF standards, because tourists and wealthy retired tech folks are willing to pay huge sums of money for decent but not stellar food". Anyway, if you're in the area and you're tired of eating at Sushi Ran and Fish, this place is pretty good, but I wouldn't go out of my way to eat here, especially for the price. read more

We stumbled upon this little gem as we were driving through Sausalito. I found Sandrino on Yelp and noticed that everyone was raving about the bufalina pizza and the pictures looked amazing so we decided to try while in the neighborhood. We go there late afternoon and tried order the gnocchi, but apparently, we got there too late because they ran out. We'll have to come back out for that. We ordered the peperonata con burrata and it was AMAZING! It tasted so light and fresh. Then we ordered the bufalina pizza and added pepperoni. Again, light and fresh and thin crust. So amazing.
